"We spent 2 months at Montejo Beauty and loved it.
Contrary to some previous reviews,we found the house well decorated, kitchen well equiped, plenty of good sheets, towels, funiture in good shape.
The house is very nice with its original tiles floors, the stained glass panels.
Most of all LOCATION: 1 block to Paseo Montejo, quiet street, no bus, walking distance to Centro, supermarkets.
We are going back next year."

"An unpretentious facade opens into the most beautiful house. Every bit as lovely as the photos, the kitchen is a cooks delight, the bedrooms lovely with comfortable beds and great sheets. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Merida is wonderful as are the people and restaurants. We had no trouble parking in front, so we could drive to wonderful Hacienda Yaxcopoil and to the spectacular ruin Uxmal."

"The villa was just like pictured on VRBO no surprises. The Wi-Fi was excellent. There is no central air but we didn't need it. The house was designed with air flow in mind and it was great. The Gonzalo and Olivia the caretakers were always on hand to help with whatever was needed.
The owner Ana Patricia was amazing!! She went above and beyond for us, a little mishap with arrival times. She picked us up and took us shopping before going to the villa what a plus. she speaks excellent English and was so informative. The bottle of wine was such a nice added touch when we arrived.
About Chicxulub. It is a small fishing village and when you read on trip advisor and else where that little English is spoken in the area they are not kidding. But we knew just enough to get by. The locals were so nice and always tried their best to help us. There was not a lot going on in the evenings. No bars or restaurant were open in the evenings and very few during the day. But it was a short ride to Progresso for those evening outings. If you are just wanting a very quiet, relaxing vacation this place is for you. We had a great time and would recommend to friends.
Thanks Ana Patricia for sharing your home with us."

"We loved our stay at Casa La Barenda; a beautiful home in a fascinating city. Although it was unseasonably warm while we were there (95deg.+) the casa was a cool and quiet retreat from our very active days. There is much to do in the area, from museums and art galleries to visiting Mayan ruins, henneken haciendas and a variety of beaches. One of the best features is a very competent and responsive local management team that will help you through any questions that may arise. When our mini-split conked out the first night, they arranged repair the following day, and even threw in a gift certificate to the best restaurant in town! When we absolutely had to make an early bus, they arranged a reliable cab for us. The house is perfectly comfortable and charming. We enjoyed the dipping pool during late afternoons and catching the cool evening breezes and watching the sun set on the roof deck. The information packet provided is the best we have encountered, and we've rented quite a few houses! We highly recommend Casa La Barenda for its comfort, great location and interesting neighborhood. Plus the fine quality of local restaurants!"
