  • Our new favorite place

"My family and I stayed in unit #3 over the Easter holiday and we still talk about the wonderful time spent there. The condo is well furnished and is so convenient in many ways. One, you can drink the tap water without trepidation, two you are located on the ground floor aka pool level so there are no additional steps to walk up or down, three the reef off the beach is some of the best snorkeling you will find in the Caribbean, four you are in walking distance to two of the better restaurants in Akumal and five you can pedal your rental bikes into the village in a few minutes; we had so much fun using the flashlight as our headlight on our return to the condo each night!!! Ever run out of beer or tequila ? No problem here, the market is a 1 minute walk down the street. Our host, Joyce was very quick in communicating and gives you a very helpful cheat sheet package before arrival. The Augustin and his staff could not be any nicer and Hilda kept our place spotless daily. Don't forget to bring water shoes if you plan on going in the water since its very rocky and some are sharp. Thanks again Joyce."

  • Beautiful, modern condo with a great view!

"My family of four rented this two bedroom/two bathroom condo in June 2014. The bedrooms and bathrooms have so much more space than hotels to unpack & store your items during your stay in their dresser drawers and closets. The beds were very comfortable, the AC worked great, & it was nice having a safe in both of the bedrooms. The wonderful maids came daily & even washed our dirty dishes that we left in the sink. We left tips for them every day in an envelope. The kitchen has been beautifully remodeled. We bought groceries & beer from the Super Express nearby and enjoyed making breakfasts several times during our stay using the oven & stove. There were plenty of non-stick pans, cooking utensils, dishes, glasses, plates, bowls, etc...The refrigerator/freezer was a good size for groceries. They had dish soap, sponges, & towels but we had to buy our own paper towels. We bought very affordable wine & liquor at a nearby place called Covie & enjoyed using their blender to make our frozen cocktails. We brought a collapsable rolling ice chest with us & would fill it up with our drinks & took it to the beach with us every day. The large, wrap-around balconey was gorgeous & had really nice patio furniture. They have trimmed some of the palm trees recently so you have a beautiful view of the beach and water! The pool was extremely warm in June but still enjoyable- its never crowded. North Beach in Isla Mujeres is BEAUTIFUL! I've never been to a beach where the water is so calm & clear (Stay in Cancun if you want waves) and you can walk out so far & still be able to stand. It does get crowded (especially on the weekends) but there is just so much ocean you can use because you can walk out so far that you can always find a great space to hang out. We brought floaties from home & spent hours floating & listening to music from the boats that would anchor nearby. There were always plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas available but we would go down in the morning and tip the guy who would set up a spot for us in the front row. The waiters were attentive & we enjoyed ordering lunch from them during the day. We had some really good snorkeling by Mia Reef, rented paddle boards which was really fun & easy to do in the calm water, & rented a golf cart one day & explored the island! Every evening we would watch the most beautiful sunsets from the beach. We loved the authentic mexican-feel of Hidalgo St & all the restaurants that we tried. We would definitely stay here again!"

  • Tired of the big all inclusives?

"We found a place where we could slide open the patio door and hear the waves hitting the shore. We also found a location close to a town where one could find all kinds of eating places as well as shop for our groceries for our meals. We rented bikes and rode them to town daily. The condo is safe and secure with an all night guard. There is a fantastic manager and staff to make your stay easy and without troubles. The guests are friendly and the view of the sea and the sunsets are sights to be seen. The beach can be used to walk or swim or just relax in the sun. The condo is clean and has everything one needs for an enjoyable stay. It will be one of our most memorable vacations."

Yucatan, Mayan Riviera Travel Tips

Mayan Resorts Along the Yucatan Peninsula

On your next trip to the Yucatan Peninsula, consider traveling to Mayan resorts. The Mayan Riviera in Mexico is one of the more fascinating destination spots in the world. You have tropical beaches, ancient ruins, and a myriad of marine and wildlife, all steps away from Yucatan vacation rentals. The Mayan Riviera is more than one city; in fact, it is about 11 cities. Popular destinations for Yucatan villas include but are not limited to Playa del Carmen, Playacar, Akumal, Tulum, Puerto Aventuras, Puerto Morelos, and Xpu-Ha.

Forested Scenery near Yucatan Vacation Rentals

As you drive along route 307 to reach Yucatan vacation rentals, you will discover the land is flat and the scenery is akin to a flat forested region much like Canada or Europe. Interspersed along the highway are boulder-laden cliffs that will lead you down to clean, white sandy beaches. Once you arrive at Yucatan villas, you are able to sit on a private beach all day watching the waves roll in or playing in the surf. Playa del Carmen is the most popular Mayan Riviera destination where plenty of Mayan resorts await.

Yucatan Villas by Fifth Avenue

If you elect to stay in Playa del Carmen rather than other Mayan Riviera destinations, you can walk down Fifth Avenue on the local strip and pet wild lions, play with boa constrictors, or watch Maruichi bands. Many of the Yucatan villas are situated on the strip to provide you the most active nightlife and access to the beautiful beach. Cruises dock close to the strip, filling up the town with new faces each Tuesday and Thursday. Because so many cruise ships dock there, you'll find many jewelry stores, arts and crafts stores, and other retail shops that offer wonderful deals.

Mayan Resorts Provide Whale Shark Sightings

Water sports are the most attractive attractions in the Mayan Riviera. From Mayan resorts, you can head out to sea on a deep sea fishing tour or scuba dive boat. If you truly want a diving experience you will never forget, make sure the dive boat is heading to the known locations where the whale sharks hang out. Whale sharks can be very elusive creatures but dive boats in the Mayan Riviera have managed to find areas where they tend to hang out. At the end of your day with water sports, it may be time to head back to your Yucatan vacation rentals for a home-cooked Mexican meal.
