  • We had a fantastic time in Puerto Adventuras111

"We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Villa Del Mar! My wife and I are very familiar with the area having stayed in all-inclusive properties along the Mayan Riviera numerous times. This was our first tropical holiday in a condo setting and we really enjoyed how relaxed it was...not having to dress up for dinner, battle for restaurant reservations and run to the beach every morning to reserve a couple of chairs. The condo is very well equipped...we wanted for nothing! The beach in front of Villa Del Mar is by far the best on the bay. Talcum powder like white sand and crystal clear water add to the relaxation. Villa Del Mar staff and security are always available and willing to help in any way they can. We visited the restaurant and bar area in Puerto Adventuras quite regularly...be it for fresh pastries in the morning or an evening drink and dinner. Prices were very good and the service was as well. The local farmer's market on both Wednesday and Saturday allowed us to keep a fresh supply of fruits and vegetables on hand...prices on produce was insanely low! The Chedurai market just outside the gate was the perfect place to gather more substantial groceries, sundries and beer/wine. A taxi from the gate is the best option is you are getting more than just a few items. We spent a day in Playa del Carmen and treated ourselves to some shopping and a great meal...as I recall cab fare was only $20-$23 each way. Overall a great vacation...we will be back!!!!"

  • Nice Villa with great sunsets.

"Rating Details: I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was happy with the location. The vacation rental was very clean. The property manager was more than helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Nice Villa with great sunsets. Must choose the CHEF option My family of 21 travels to Mexico every year, over the New Year. Some were at a villa down the road (wish we were able to get Ranas next door). This was the first time we used the "Chefs" and it was the best thing. I don't know how we survived in years past. They worked with us on the menu ahead of time to simplify some of the meals since we had a lot of picky eaters. But it was awesome having breakfast ready every morning and being able to stay outside and watch the sunset every night, then returning to a prepared meal. They also brought the food with them and cleaned up after. This option is a MUST. As far as the house, it was nice. A typical Mexican Villa. We are used to hard beds and not enough hot water, but nothing that would stop us from returning in the future. The pool was a lot of fun and the toddler loved playing on the shallow ledge around the entire pool. Bring your water shoes for snorkeling out back. The ladder into the water is now a sturdy metal one (not like in some of the pictures). The 3 year old was able to do the ladder, as was the 65 year old grandma. We used noodles to hold ourselves up while snorkeling and it was something we did every day. I just wish there was a sandy beach too - that was the only thing missing from this property. This is the first time we got a rental car. It was worth it for running to the grocery store, getting ice, and people going in to town for sightseeing."

  • Tastefully decorated 2 Bedroom Condo in a great location-Paseo del Sol in Playacar, MX

"We rented this 2 bedroom condo from November 7 to 25,2014 in the Paseo del Sol complex which houses about 4 three story buildings containing roughly 65 owner occupied and rental condo units. Paseo del Sol complex is located in Playacar, a gated community, containing residences and several all-inclusive hotel resorts. The area is both safe and secure. Paseo del Sol has 24 hour security. It is about a 15 minute walk (7 to 9 peso taxi ride) to 5th Avenue and surrounding area where the shopping district is located along with a number of great restaurants. This 2 bedroom spacious condo unit was tastefully decorated/appointed containing excellent quality furniture and furnishings. It was a bright and light corner unit on the main/ground level of the complex, called Reef 106. The kitchen was fully equipped and the unit contained a washer/dryer. Bottled drinking water containers are delivered to the condo as required/requested,with maid/cleaning service provided when requested, with a meaningful tip for the cleaning lady. We went to several excellent restaurants, just off 5th Avenue, including Oh Lala, Imprevist, Como Como and the Plank. We also ordered on-line having groceries brought to the condo for a nominal price, as well we ordered pizza from a restaurant called Amore and very good Thai food from a takeout restaurant owned by Oh Lala which was delivered to our condo. We enjoyed our stay in the condo. A great location. The office and cleaning staff was very good. We would recommend."

Yucatan, Mayan Riviera Travel Tips

Mayan Resorts Along the Yucatan Peninsula

On your next trip to the Yucatan Peninsula, consider traveling to Mayan resorts. The Mayan Riviera in Mexico is one of the more fascinating destination spots in the world. You have tropical beaches, ancient ruins, and a myriad of marine and wildlife, all steps away from Yucatan vacation rentals. The Mayan Riviera is more than one city; in fact, it is about 11 cities. Popular destinations for Yucatan villas include but are not limited to Playa del Carmen, Playacar, Akumal, Tulum, Puerto Aventuras, Puerto Morelos, and Xpu-Ha.

Forested Scenery near Yucatan Vacation Rentals

As you drive along route 307 to reach Yucatan vacation rentals, you will discover the land is flat and the scenery is akin to a flat forested region much like Canada or Europe. Interspersed along the highway are boulder-laden cliffs that will lead you down to clean, white sandy beaches. Once you arrive at Yucatan villas, you are able to sit on a private beach all day watching the waves roll in or playing in the surf. Playa del Carmen is the most popular Mayan Riviera destination where plenty of Mayan resorts await.

Yucatan Villas by Fifth Avenue

If you elect to stay in Playa del Carmen rather than other Mayan Riviera destinations, you can walk down Fifth Avenue on the local strip and pet wild lions, play with boa constrictors, or watch Maruichi bands. Many of the Yucatan villas are situated on the strip to provide you the most active nightlife and access to the beautiful beach. Cruises dock close to the strip, filling up the town with new faces each Tuesday and Thursday. Because so many cruise ships dock there, you'll find many jewelry stores, arts and crafts stores, and other retail shops that offer wonderful deals.

Mayan Resorts Provide Whale Shark Sightings

Water sports are the most attractive attractions in the Mayan Riviera. From Mayan resorts, you can head out to sea on a deep sea fishing tour or scuba dive boat. If you truly want a diving experience you will never forget, make sure the dive boat is heading to the known locations where the whale sharks hang out. Whale sharks can be very elusive creatures but dive boats in the Mayan Riviera have managed to find areas where they tend to hang out. At the end of your day with water sports, it may be time to head back to your Yucatan vacation rentals for a home-cooked Mexican meal.
