  • Wonderful family vacation!

"Luna Encantada was easily one of the best family vacation sites we've had, truly a home away from home. We were greeted at the secure gate, and taken immediately to our 3 bedroom condo. The on-site help was always prompt and available. Jose was so helpful; he even brought a fan for our bedroom since we were used to having the "white noise." A ceiling leak from the upper floor was immediately addressed. Although just across from a bar/grill, the noise never bothered us at night. (A few pesky footfalls from above, but that can happen at any resort/hotel.) The infinity pool, grounds and beach were spotless. Gabriel at the beach was so nice and helpful with umbrellas, drinks and chairs. (One could walk a long ways on the beautiful white sand beach.) We made use of the laundry daily, as well as the kitchen. Less than a block away, was Fifth Avenue, where we enjoyed many shops, restaurants, and miscellaneous businesses. After a few days, we even let our kids go without us to shop. The view from our patio was spectacular. Many hours were spent there just listening to the waves and enjoying the view. Also a perfect spot to watch the pool, if our kids were swimming. (*Teens, not toddlers.) There were several excursion kiosks right on the beach near our condo. Our family did snorkeling, para-sailing and jet-skiing. Also, massage and yoga right next door. (Our extended family who joined us, really enjoyed deep sea fishing with Ivan, which was booked online before our trip. (Highly recommend Fishing with Ivan, which was a short cab ride away.) Yaxche Mayan Restaurant was very good, and just a couple blocks from us on 5th was Cafe de la Mer, an upstairs restaurant which was fabulous. Housekeeping came as much or as little as you wanted, and they were great! I cannot wait to go back here. Loved it so much more than any hotel or resort, and I have been to quite a few. The mega (groceries) and Walmart were walking distance, (maybe a mile) but a cab is needed to carry stuff back. LOVED this place the best out of all my 10 or so, trips to Cancun/Playa del Carmen. Can't wait to return!"

  • Group of nine from Iowa.

"We just returned from a week stay at Villa Carolina and had a blast! Perfect for our teens as the home is literally on the shore so adults could be in pool or home and still keep an eye on kids. Ocean water was clear, calm and warm. Jorge was a fabulous property manager and always available if we needed him. We would love to go back again!!"

  • What an amazing place!

"As soon as we opened the door we felt at home. This condo was so clean and well maintained. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Everything was as outlined in the description. We had a nice view of the pool and bay from the balcony, and couldn't wait to have coffee there every morning. The unit had easy access from the balcony to the pool area and just a few steps further was the beach. You couldn't ask for much more! Tara was always readily available and willing to do anything she could to make the stay enjoyable. It was so nice it have the washer and dryer in the unit. It would be great if the second bedroom had a queen bed for a taller teenager, but the double bed worked out ok. The condo is a great place to go for a laid back vacation, but is still close to the marina, restaurants and shops. Would highly recommend this place! It exceeded our expectations."

  • Better than expected!

"This condo was great. Second floor, ocean view, pool view. There are 2 pools both about the same distance from the condo. Nice newer kitchen. Bed was good. Bathroom was nice and big. Caught the dive boat on the pier every morning. Probably should rent a car if you are planning on going into town much. The condo owner was extremely helpful as well."

Yucatan, Mayan Riviera Travel Tips

Mayan Resorts Along the Yucatan Peninsula

On your next trip to the Yucatan Peninsula, consider traveling to Mayan resorts. The Mayan Riviera in Mexico is one of the more fascinating destination spots in the world. You have tropical beaches, ancient ruins, and a myriad of marine and wildlife, all steps away from Yucatan vacation rentals. The Mayan Riviera is more than one city; in fact, it is about 11 cities. Popular destinations for Yucatan villas include but are not limited to Playa del Carmen, Playacar, Akumal, Tulum, Puerto Aventuras, Puerto Morelos, and Xpu-Ha.

Forested Scenery near Yucatan Vacation Rentals

As you drive along route 307 to reach Yucatan vacation rentals, you will discover the land is flat and the scenery is akin to a flat forested region much like Canada or Europe. Interspersed along the highway are boulder-laden cliffs that will lead you down to clean, white sandy beaches. Once you arrive at Yucatan villas, you are able to sit on a private beach all day watching the waves roll in or playing in the surf. Playa del Carmen is the most popular Mayan Riviera destination where plenty of Mayan resorts await.

Yucatan Villas by Fifth Avenue

If you elect to stay in Playa del Carmen rather than other Mayan Riviera destinations, you can walk down Fifth Avenue on the local strip and pet wild lions, play with boa constrictors, or watch Maruichi bands. Many of the Yucatan villas are situated on the strip to provide you the most active nightlife and access to the beautiful beach. Cruises dock close to the strip, filling up the town with new faces each Tuesday and Thursday. Because so many cruise ships dock there, you'll find many jewelry stores, arts and crafts stores, and other retail shops that offer wonderful deals.

Mayan Resorts Provide Whale Shark Sightings

Water sports are the most attractive attractions in the Mayan Riviera. From Mayan resorts, you can head out to sea on a deep sea fishing tour or scuba dive boat. If you truly want a diving experience you will never forget, make sure the dive boat is heading to the known locations where the whale sharks hang out. Whale sharks can be very elusive creatures but dive boats in the Mayan Riviera have managed to find areas where they tend to hang out. At the end of your day with water sports, it may be time to head back to your Yucatan vacation rentals for a home-cooked Mexican meal.
