  • Amazing Place

"This was our first trip to Playa Del Carmen and it is now my absolute favorite place in Mexico. The condo was clean, comfortable and had all of the amenities you could want. Gary, the property manager was also quite helpful with information. The pictures on the web are very accurate; the place is as beautiful as they look. There are two tennis courts (with lights) right across the street which we loved. Very close to the main street with tons of great restaurants and shops. The rooftop pool was like having our own private pool; we only saw two other people the entire 8 days we were there. The beach is also convenient. It was truly a perfect vacation for us and we will return for sure! The Owner was a pleasure to work with and she made everything easy with the charges, deposits, etc. I highly recommend this condo for your vacation; you will not be disappointed."

  • Perfect Week of Sun!

"We spent a week at condo and loved it! It was my husband and I and our 2 teenage daughters. The condo had everything we needed, with everything working and in good condition. We absolutely loved the vicinity to the beach and morning coffee looking out at the ocean. Because my daughter had a knee injury 2 weeks before our planned vacation, she was in a knee brace and crutches. This limited our excursions, so we spent a lot of time at the condo, pools and beach. Not only was the property clean and tidy, but we felt completely safe and well taken care of. I did not hear any negative reports from any of the other guests, who were staying at various condos throughout the property. There were families with babies, teenagers and retired couples. A mixture of very nice people. We did not rent a car except for one day that we rented a jeep and drove around the island. We have always used just taxis for Mexico, but when we return, we will definitely rent a car for the entire stay. The taxi cab generally ran about $15USD each way between town and the condo. And about $25USD each way to the airport and back. The driving seemed more reasonable on the island than other places we've been in Mexico and I think we would be perfectly comfortable driving there. There are two big grocery stores in town and it was easy to find food and items that we were familiar with. The grocery store gives you the option of paying with USD, Pesos or credit card. Down the beach is Carlos and Charlies and a couple other Beach Clubs. Our first visit was on a Sunday (no cruise ships) and it was rather quiet and we had excellent service. When we returned later in the week, when cruise ships were in town and during spring break, it was quite different! It was fun to people-watch but a bit crazy too! It was a fun atmosphere, good lunch and just steps from condo. Overall, we couldn't have asked for a better location. We prefer quiet to crowds and we were not disappointed. The condo was lovely and the beach was stunning! Again, when we stay again, we will rent a car to add to the flexibility and hopefully no crutches!! Thank you Fulvio for all your help!!"

  • Wonderful Beach Front condo in a phenomenal location!

"I stayed at the condo for 4 nights with some good friends and had a wonderful time! The location of the condo can't be beat...1st floor right on the beach with that gorgeous ocean view, and just around the block from excellent restaurants and shops. Nightclubs are also right around the corner, and the owner had shared information about this (along with a ton of other great info about what to expect in Playa, cultural differences, local restaurant recommendations, suggestions for tipping, etc...having never been to the area, I found this EXTREMELY helpful and my friends and I referred back to the info often during our stay), so we knew what to expect. While you could hear the base from the nightclubs, and I am a fairly light sleeper, it did not keep me from sleeping well...the blackout curtains were wonderful and the bed was super comfortable! The condo was well-supplied, cleaning service did a fantastic job, and the property management folks gave us contact info to reach them if there was anything we needed. Playa Del Carmen is a lovely town, with so many great restaurants (I hope to go back again to sample more of them) and shops. Be sure to check out a shop called Yulunga for great high-quality handmade jewelry at reasonable prices. The massage "booth" set up on the beach near the condo was a part of the daily routine: $20 for excellent one-hour massages! The waiter from one of the restaurants next door also came over so that we could order drinks and food, which we could take advantage of if we didn't feel like cooking or making our own drinks...very convenient. There are also rentals for paddle boards next door, and fishing boats you can have guide you. Great condo...spacious kitchen, dining area, living space. Great location...couple of minutes walk to restaurants/shops...we found no need for a car (if you did need transportation, the taxis were plentiful and very reasonable). Great home base to visit the ruins and cenotes that are not too far away. We had a guide pick us up one day for the trip to Tulum & Cobá and it couldn't have been easier. The information provided by the owner really was invaluable to helping us make the most of our stay, thank you! Can't wait to go back and stay here again!!"

Yucatan, Mayan Riviera Travel Tips

Mayan Resorts Along the Yucatan Peninsula

On your next trip to the Yucatan Peninsula, consider traveling to Mayan resorts. The Mayan Riviera in Mexico is one of the more fascinating destination spots in the world. You have tropical beaches, ancient ruins, and a myriad of marine and wildlife, all steps away from Yucatan vacation rentals. The Mayan Riviera is more than one city; in fact, it is about 11 cities. Popular destinations for Yucatan villas include but are not limited to Playa del Carmen, Playacar, Akumal, Tulum, Puerto Aventuras, Puerto Morelos, and Xpu-Ha.

Forested Scenery near Yucatan Vacation Rentals

As you drive along route 307 to reach Yucatan vacation rentals, you will discover the land is flat and the scenery is akin to a flat forested region much like Canada or Europe. Interspersed along the highway are boulder-laden cliffs that will lead you down to clean, white sandy beaches. Once you arrive at Yucatan villas, you are able to sit on a private beach all day watching the waves roll in or playing in the surf. Playa del Carmen is the most popular Mayan Riviera destination where plenty of Mayan resorts await.

Yucatan Villas by Fifth Avenue

If you elect to stay in Playa del Carmen rather than other Mayan Riviera destinations, you can walk down Fifth Avenue on the local strip and pet wild lions, play with boa constrictors, or watch Maruichi bands. Many of the Yucatan villas are situated on the strip to provide you the most active nightlife and access to the beautiful beach. Cruises dock close to the strip, filling up the town with new faces each Tuesday and Thursday. Because so many cruise ships dock there, you'll find many jewelry stores, arts and crafts stores, and other retail shops that offer wonderful deals.

Mayan Resorts Provide Whale Shark Sightings

Water sports are the most attractive attractions in the Mayan Riviera. From Mayan resorts, you can head out to sea on a deep sea fishing tour or scuba dive boat. If you truly want a diving experience you will never forget, make sure the dive boat is heading to the known locations where the whale sharks hang out. Whale sharks can be very elusive creatures but dive boats in the Mayan Riviera have managed to find areas where they tend to hang out. At the end of your day with water sports, it may be time to head back to your Yucatan vacation rentals for a home-cooked Mexican meal.
