  • Perfect get away in any which way!

"My husband and I live in Valladolid and operate there a small b&b. We had not had the opportunity to get away in 2 years, so this was a much needed break from our routine! Even if you live in paradise you need to get away every once in a while! I was able to secure our place on a short notice and the communication with Brent, the owner, was great and fast! We were able to come down with 2 of our dogs, the other ones were taking care of by a good friend staying at our place. We have been only briefly in Xcalak in April, and were happy to stay for 4 nights now! Everything was perfect, the owner is a great guy, and this place is perfect for getting away from it all, nature lovers, ocean lovers, and everyone who appreciates sitting on the deck, looking into the wonderful ocean! It was our 14th anniversary get away and it could have not been better! Do not come if you need to be entertained, but come for the great nature, wildlife, snorkeling, kayaking, boating, manatees and manta rays! Be sure to stock up on groceries, as there are not too many places to go to for eating out, and this place is about 8 km out of town on a pretty good gravel road. It was perfect for us, as we wanted the quiet, so you need to know what you are looking for... You will be amazed by the reef and the turquoise water! Also very close to Belize, and at great XTC Dive Centre, you can book to there and to other amazing places! With a car you can do easily day trips to Chetumal, Bacalar, Calakmul, and other places! It's a place that puts a relaxed smile on your face... the house, the surroundings, and the owner! There are bikes for your use and we biked down the road with our dogs. Love to come back as soon as possible! Thank you so much for these wonderful days!"

  • Relaxing and Comfortable

"This was our 2nd stay in an apartment in La Joya in Akumal. We really appreciate all the comfort and quiet of this condo. The pool, the beach, good restaurants nearby and especially Yal ku lagoon next to it. After a month of traveling in Mexico, we always end our stay by a few days in Akumal and apartments at La Joya are very nice with appreciable services (daily housekeeping) , wifi, tourist information, bicycle rental, etc."

  • Tastefully decorated 2 Bedroom Condo in a great location-Paseo del Sol in Playacar, MX

"We rented this 2 bedroom condo from November 7 to 25,2014 in the Paseo del Sol complex which houses about 4 three story buildings containing roughly 65 owner occupied and rental condo units. Paseo del Sol complex is located in Playacar, a gated community, containing residences and several all-inclusive hotel resorts. The area is both safe and secure. Paseo del Sol has 24 hour security. It is about a 15 minute walk (7 to 9 peso taxi ride) to 5th Avenue and surrounding area where the shopping district is located along with a number of great restaurants. This 2 bedroom spacious condo unit was tastefully decorated/appointed containing excellent quality furniture and furnishings. It was a bright and light corner unit on the main/ground level of the complex, called Reef 106. The kitchen was fully equipped and the unit contained a washer/dryer. Bottled drinking water containers are delivered to the condo as required/requested,with maid/cleaning service provided when requested, with a meaningful tip for the cleaning lady. We went to several excellent restaurants, just off 5th Avenue, including Oh Lala, Imprevist, Como Como and the Plank. We also ordered on-line having groceries brought to the condo for a nominal price, as well we ordered pizza from a restaurant called Amore and very good Thai food from a takeout restaurant owned by Oh Lala which was delivered to our condo. We enjoyed our stay in the condo. A great location. The office and cleaning staff was very good. We would recommend."

  • Everything you'd want in a vacation condo......and more!

"We had a good feeling from the moment we first communicated with the owner of this condo. We are always a little timid when dealing with people over the internet but this condo was exactly as advertised on a fantastic white sand beach. The unit is very comfortable for two couples with an excellent compliment of kitchen accessories. It is the perfect distance from the center of town close to many quaint restaurants, grocery store and a fresh seafood market. If you like walking on the beach, you'll have miles of opportunity as it goes on forever. Snorkeling is right out your door or you can rent a boat to take you to the reef, but not necessary. The atmosphere by the pool was very comfortable and welcoming which was a nice option from the beach. I must mention the manager of the condo as she was very efficient answering all questions and dealing with any issues that arose. That's it, we would certainly return."

Yucatan, Mayan Riviera Travel Tips

Mayan Resorts Along the Yucatan Peninsula

On your next trip to the Yucatan Peninsula, consider traveling to Mayan resorts. The Mayan Riviera in Mexico is one of the more fascinating destination spots in the world. You have tropical beaches, ancient ruins, and a myriad of marine and wildlife, all steps away from Yucatan vacation rentals. The Mayan Riviera is more than one city; in fact, it is about 11 cities. Popular destinations for Yucatan villas include but are not limited to Playa del Carmen, Playacar, Akumal, Tulum, Puerto Aventuras, Puerto Morelos, and Xpu-Ha.

Forested Scenery near Yucatan Vacation Rentals

As you drive along route 307 to reach Yucatan vacation rentals, you will discover the land is flat and the scenery is akin to a flat forested region much like Canada or Europe. Interspersed along the highway are boulder-laden cliffs that will lead you down to clean, white sandy beaches. Once you arrive at Yucatan villas, you are able to sit on a private beach all day watching the waves roll in or playing in the surf. Playa del Carmen is the most popular Mayan Riviera destination where plenty of Mayan resorts await.

Yucatan Villas by Fifth Avenue

If you elect to stay in Playa del Carmen rather than other Mayan Riviera destinations, you can walk down Fifth Avenue on the local strip and pet wild lions, play with boa constrictors, or watch Maruichi bands. Many of the Yucatan villas are situated on the strip to provide you the most active nightlife and access to the beautiful beach. Cruises dock close to the strip, filling up the town with new faces each Tuesday and Thursday. Because so many cruise ships dock there, you'll find many jewelry stores, arts and crafts stores, and other retail shops that offer wonderful deals.

Mayan Resorts Provide Whale Shark Sightings

Water sports are the most attractive attractions in the Mayan Riviera. From Mayan resorts, you can head out to sea on a deep sea fishing tour or scuba dive boat. If you truly want a diving experience you will never forget, make sure the dive boat is heading to the known locations where the whale sharks hang out. Whale sharks can be very elusive creatures but dive boats in the Mayan Riviera have managed to find areas where they tend to hang out. At the end of your day with water sports, it may be time to head back to your Yucatan vacation rentals for a home-cooked Mexican meal.
