  • Feel like a local...

"Villas de Rosa has a different vibe than other properties in the area, and was perfect for our needs. We stayed in a condo, and enjoyed being able to cook meals for ourselves after shopping at nearby markets. The on-site food is great, though, and we enjoyed the company of the bartender/cook. The small outdoor bar and restaurant was even frequented by guests from nearby all-inclusives who were looking for a more authentic and relaxed experience. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and bilingual in most cases. They took the time to tell us about nearby beaches and cenotes we shouldn't miss, which made for a memorable trip. The owner answered questions we didn't know we had, like how staying on the third floor would be the best fit for us. The site is very clean and well-maintained. The housekeeping service was beyond our expectations, and was quick to replace a burned-out lightbulb without us having to ask. They also provide courtesies like dish soap, body soap, and shampoo. Don't miss snorkeling around the reefs that are an easy swim directly out from the Villas' beach--surprising variety of colorful fish, sea life, and coral structures. Also be sure to visit the ruins at Xel-ha and Coba, at least one cenote, the Yal-Ku lagoon for an easy but beautiful experience, and the secluded beach at Xcacel (it's hard to find, so ask the staff). While having a car isn't necessary, we were glad we rented one. We were able to make quick trips to the market, and to visit multiple towns and archaeological sites in one day--and still have time left over to relax on the beach. While we're not new to international travel, we haven't done a lot of it. The accommodations/location and the staff quickly dispelled any anxieties we had about being in an unfamiliar place. Akumal is more out-of-the-way than Playa del Carmen, but not so remote that new travelers should shy away. We left feeling more like friends than guests."

  • Awesome..highly recommend

"Writing this review as we are sadly getting ready to leave paradise condominiums. One more sleep. Tracey and Wayne have a gem of a condo. Very clean and spacious just steps away from the beach. The booking process was very easy with lots of good recommendations. The beds are very comfortable. The maid came mid week and did a very thorough job cleaning the condo. The views are amazing and the grounds are immaculately maintained. Highly reccommend if you want a beautiful quite setting with a private beach. The sunsets are amazing. We are a family of four that loves diving and snorkeling. For scuba I highly recommend Scuba Tony. They picked us up on the beach and we had to wade out to waist deep water but it was easy. Their service is top notch. The snorkelling is very good and safe. Uvas next door is just steps away have a very nice lunch menu. Just walk over and tell them you are from paradise condos and they will not charge any entry fees. Getting groceries if you chose to eat in is easy and the Mega has pretty much everything your local grocery store would have. We did not rent a car and that was ok because we took a taxi into town for around $12 each way. It really was a wonderful vacation."

  • Amazing location

"Just wanted to write a quick review about our visit. We had a fantastic stay at Casita Blanca. Roberto was amazingly helpful. The view from our unit was breathtaking. The walk to town for supper in the evenings was so beatiful. We loved our stay and can not wait to visit next year."

  • Amazing week at Casa Susana

"We stayed at Casa Susana from Feb 7-14, 2014. My wife and I have been to Mexico several times and had always done all inclusive resorts. We decided this year to rent a house on the recommendation of a friend. Casa Susana did not disappoint, the house is beautiful the pool is amazing and the walk to the beach is only a short walk. Your close to town so it's only a short walk. I travel a lot for work and I'm pretty picky when it comes to accommodations, this house is 5 star all the way, exactly as advertised."

Yucatan, Mayan Riviera Travel Tips

Mayan Resorts Along the Yucatan Peninsula

On your next trip to the Yucatan Peninsula, consider traveling to Mayan resorts. The Mayan Riviera in Mexico is one of the more fascinating destination spots in the world. You have tropical beaches, ancient ruins, and a myriad of marine and wildlife, all steps away from Yucatan vacation rentals. The Mayan Riviera is more than one city; in fact, it is about 11 cities. Popular destinations for Yucatan villas include but are not limited to Playa del Carmen, Playacar, Akumal, Tulum, Puerto Aventuras, Puerto Morelos, and Xpu-Ha.

Forested Scenery near Yucatan Vacation Rentals

As you drive along route 307 to reach Yucatan vacation rentals, you will discover the land is flat and the scenery is akin to a flat forested region much like Canada or Europe. Interspersed along the highway are boulder-laden cliffs that will lead you down to clean, white sandy beaches. Once you arrive at Yucatan villas, you are able to sit on a private beach all day watching the waves roll in or playing in the surf. Playa del Carmen is the most popular Mayan Riviera destination where plenty of Mayan resorts await.

Yucatan Villas by Fifth Avenue

If you elect to stay in Playa del Carmen rather than other Mayan Riviera destinations, you can walk down Fifth Avenue on the local strip and pet wild lions, play with boa constrictors, or watch Maruichi bands. Many of the Yucatan villas are situated on the strip to provide you the most active nightlife and access to the beautiful beach. Cruises dock close to the strip, filling up the town with new faces each Tuesday and Thursday. Because so many cruise ships dock there, you'll find many jewelry stores, arts and crafts stores, and other retail shops that offer wonderful deals.

Mayan Resorts Provide Whale Shark Sightings

Water sports are the most attractive attractions in the Mayan Riviera. From Mayan resorts, you can head out to sea on a deep sea fishing tour or scuba dive boat. If you truly want a diving experience you will never forget, make sure the dive boat is heading to the known locations where the whale sharks hang out. Whale sharks can be very elusive creatures but dive boats in the Mayan Riviera have managed to find areas where they tend to hang out. At the end of your day with water sports, it may be time to head back to your Yucatan vacation rentals for a home-cooked Mexican meal.
