  • Magical Home!

"We had a wonderful family vacation in Brisaymar. We have 2 adult sons and a teenage daughter and we all loved the house, the location, kayak, pool, lovely beach and wonderful attention by Eugenia. We also had someone come to cook for us and it was perfect! Eugenia is very attentive to details and the house was set in a very intentional way. She was always available to help with any or our needs. We would highly recommend this house and location to others. Thank you very much, Eugenia, for a perfect vacation!"

  • Wonderful Condo! Quiet, Peaceful!

"PROS: Overall, you will not find a better place for your buck. Condo = Gorgeous! Marble floors, clean, updated rooms & showers & kitchen. The patio is huge and view is incredible! Windows are floor to ceiling and let in so much light. Maid that comes in does an impeccable job of cleaning...We were able to walk around without our shoes and no black feet. Kitchen is fully equipped, but the closest decent market is the Mega, which is a 10-minute drive south from the condo. The infinity pool is salt water and PERFECT temperature day and night. The little access to the ocean is amazing too! We spent everyday in the ocean and the water is SO clear that you can see tropical fish and some spotted stingray below you while you swim! As far as location, this is north of all the "fun & trendy" areas of the island. If you are a couple or a family looking to stay away from all of that and don't mind a taxi drive down to the main part of town, then this is the perfect place for you! The people are friendly, and it is absolutely safe to walk around at night. The cons: So back to location... I wasn't sure where to stay because it was my first time. Went with a group of gals for our 30th birthdays and although it is nice being away from downtown, it definitely sucked having to catch a cab everyday to go downtown and go to a bar or shop, etc. Most of the tours start at the pier downtown, so it just ended up being an additional cost for us. If we stayed closer, we could've just walked and saved a $10 cab fare one-way each time ($10-12 to get to Mega supermarket). One of the main bedrooms has an issue with the a/c vent. Two of the girls like their rooms warm, so it wasn't a problem, but of the rooms gets insanely hot while the rest of the condo stays cool. The building is old. We knew that and didnt have a problem. There was an issue with the sewage gases coming up from pipes, so if we didnt leave the windows open while we were out, the condo would smell like sewer when we got back (but hopefully it's fixed by now!). It was a bit difficult not having a concierge to talk to (the property manager was responsive via email, but u know how it is...always better to ask Q's in person). **Like i said, overall, great condo, beautiful room, and great value! *TIP: YOU MUST MUST do the Pirate Boat tour! Totally worth it, they keep feeding you cocktails, and it was a LOT of fun!"

  • All (almost) perfect

"My dream come true by coming to this house/location: an entire ocean front villa with an amazing turquoise Caribbean sea all for you and your family and nobody else around. And you can get all this with a nice price The villa in fact is very nice and pretty big and as far as I saw it is the most convenient of that area, in fact basically for the same price you can get the entire villa, whereas other houses I contacted they would have given only one of the two floor. Other important thing when you go to such wild heavens, you will have the house owner that is very kind and assist you in any question you may have about house/location until you get there. Everything was very well managed: you will meet there a local house manager (who speaks a perfect English) once in Xcalak other than a caretaker (who can arrange a rustic BBQ on request if you wish). From a scale 1 to 10 I would give 8,5 to this house just because with some small cheap details the house would be perfect: for example it could be provided a tent/big umbrella on the amazing terrace with a stunning view that villa has to stay more protected from the strong sun; because only like that you may have lunch/dinner/breakfast because without some kind of cover you cannot stay more than 10 minutes with Caribbean sun on your head (unless you are not like an iguana…). Also another table and chair/bed could be put on the terrace to better enjoy it. A BBQ could complete the perfection (even though it may be arranged the rustic one by the caretaker)… Other than this small details, my vacation was perfect more than expected (except the argue with a fisherman guide who took my fishing catch, a big barracuda, after he told me he would give to me as part of the package tour paid….but this has nothing to do with house, only an advice if you decide to come to Xclalak for fishing as well, just clear up with a guide very very well this point if you go fishing, they sometimes try to be smart and keep the catch if that is going to be very good) Definitely I would recommend this house and Xcalak to whoever would like to spend sometime in a breathtaking place and experience the sensation to have an ocean front villa…Caribbean ocean not a normal one …"

  • Villa in Playacar

"My wife and I had a great stay in this place last week...quiet, calm peaceful... away from the raucous town of Playa del Carmen. The bikes provided were the perfect way to get around. The house is spacious and airy, we never ran the A/C even though the temperature reached 30 degrees. Friendly neighbours within the community added to an enjoyable experience. We felt very safe , even walking/ biking at night. Owner Laurie and property manager Chris were attentive to a fault. Recommended...."

Yucatan, Mayan Riviera Travel Tips

Mayan Resorts Along the Yucatan Peninsula

On your next trip to the Yucatan Peninsula, consider traveling to Mayan resorts. The Mayan Riviera in Mexico is one of the more fascinating destination spots in the world. You have tropical beaches, ancient ruins, and a myriad of marine and wildlife, all steps away from Yucatan vacation rentals. The Mayan Riviera is more than one city; in fact, it is about 11 cities. Popular destinations for Yucatan villas include but are not limited to Playa del Carmen, Playacar, Akumal, Tulum, Puerto Aventuras, Puerto Morelos, and Xpu-Ha.

Forested Scenery near Yucatan Vacation Rentals

As you drive along route 307 to reach Yucatan vacation rentals, you will discover the land is flat and the scenery is akin to a flat forested region much like Canada or Europe. Interspersed along the highway are boulder-laden cliffs that will lead you down to clean, white sandy beaches. Once you arrive at Yucatan villas, you are able to sit on a private beach all day watching the waves roll in or playing in the surf. Playa del Carmen is the most popular Mayan Riviera destination where plenty of Mayan resorts await.

Yucatan Villas by Fifth Avenue

If you elect to stay in Playa del Carmen rather than other Mayan Riviera destinations, you can walk down Fifth Avenue on the local strip and pet wild lions, play with boa constrictors, or watch Maruichi bands. Many of the Yucatan villas are situated on the strip to provide you the most active nightlife and access to the beautiful beach. Cruises dock close to the strip, filling up the town with new faces each Tuesday and Thursday. Because so many cruise ships dock there, you'll find many jewelry stores, arts and crafts stores, and other retail shops that offer wonderful deals.

Mayan Resorts Provide Whale Shark Sightings

Water sports are the most attractive attractions in the Mayan Riviera. From Mayan resorts, you can head out to sea on a deep sea fishing tour or scuba dive boat. If you truly want a diving experience you will never forget, make sure the dive boat is heading to the known locations where the whale sharks hang out. Whale sharks can be very elusive creatures but dive boats in the Mayan Riviera have managed to find areas where they tend to hang out. At the end of your day with water sports, it may be time to head back to your Yucatan vacation rentals for a home-cooked Mexican meal.
