  • Beautiful, spacious, just secluded enough...

"Situated close to Chankanaab park, this beach house is idyllic for travelers who want to plan their own days, be enough out of the hustle and bustle of the tourist flow but close enough to participate in anything and everything with just a few minutes drive, and who want to explore more of Cozumel than just the typical area of downtown of San Miguel. Renting a jeep is very easy (and cheap!) to do and provides you with tons of freedom to explore the whole island in a few days time. Villa Coronado is located on the "old beach road" south of San Miguel, about 2 miles south of Chankanaab Park, and only a 10 minute drive back in to downtown for a trip to the Mega grocery store, dozens of top-notch restaurants, and all kinds of excursions/activities. The beach house is immaculate and modern, with 4 extra large bedrooms with comfortable (I slept better than at home!) king-size beds and full bathrooms in each, upstairs and downstairs living areas, a beautiful iron spiral staircase, and a fully functional/furnished kitchen with all the appliances, coffeemaker, and reverse osmosis drinking system. This villa could very nicely accommodate 4 couples wanting to travel to Cozumel together, as easily as a family who all wanted to spread out a bit, as in our case. :) The private pool is beautiful and well-kept, and the rooftop terrace on the third floor makes for a perfect spot to have early morning coffee and watch the sun come up, or have a sunset fiesta. The landscaping is beautiful, exotic and meticulously kept, and it is just a 45-second walk across the lawn to the oceans edge (however, make sure to wear water shoes as this part is coral, and while wonderful to explore for fish and wildlife, don't go barefoot!). We would highly recommend this property to anyone wanting to visit Cozumel- first-timers or veteran travelers alike. The property management team was there to meet us and show us all of the amenities, and was only a phone call away, had we needed their help. There were detailed instructions left for operating the safe, how to operate Magic Jack for calling home, and an extensive list of restaurants to try, along with reviews. All in all, our stay was perfect and we will definitely stay at Villa Coronado again!"

  • Doug & family

"Having Carlos, from the property management meet us at the house when we arrived was a very nice touch. He showed us around the house and gave us suggestions, brochures and maps for shopping, restaurants, excursions, etc. We were blown away by the property from the moment we got there. The house was immaculate and incredible, from the large comfortable living room to the fully equipped chef's kitchen. The covered patio and the pool was such a bonus. .We loved having access to the beach at the Reef club and had the best massages ever from Alfonso. The city of Playa itself is great, a short walk from the house and extremely safe and friendly. Another bonus was the convenience of the taxi's, they took us to the grocery store and to any excursions we did while we were in Playa. We had a wonderful time at Casa Alegria and would come back in a heartbeat. Mark & Yvonne, thank you so much for sharing your wonderful home with us."

  • Excellent place!

"My husband and I stayed at this house and had a most enjoyable time. Private pool and beach on the ocean! The pictures do not even do it justice. It is a little ways from town so rent a golf cart and have fun!! We sure did. We felt very safe in the house as well as the island. The pool was pretty warm (due to being in direct sunlight) but, we found it to be a great refresher after being in the salty sea all day. The bed and pillows are very comfy, you will sleep well. We found working with Katie was a pleasure and the family that helps keep the house and grounds were such a pleasure as well.We plan to return to Isla and will book again with this charming hideaway!"

  • Amazing authentic Hacienda

"What a magical place! We spent a dream like moment at Hacienda Dzibikak and would recommend it to any kind of group. Richard and Lena, the owners, have re-created an authentic hacienda--and added the comforts of the modern day. It is clean, friendly, extremely well maintained and you won't find more helpful or knowledgeable owners than these two. They will share their extensive knowledge of the area, and are very flexible when it comes to adapting the Hacienda to your personal needs. We had an amazing experience and encourage anyone to go."

Yucatan, Mayan Riviera Travel Tips

Mayan Resorts Along the Yucatan Peninsula

On your next trip to the Yucatan Peninsula, consider traveling to Mayan resorts. The Mayan Riviera in Mexico is one of the more fascinating destination spots in the world. You have tropical beaches, ancient ruins, and a myriad of marine and wildlife, all steps away from Yucatan vacation rentals. The Mayan Riviera is more than one city; in fact, it is about 11 cities. Popular destinations for Yucatan villas include but are not limited to Playa del Carmen, Playacar, Akumal, Tulum, Puerto Aventuras, Puerto Morelos, and Xpu-Ha.

Forested Scenery near Yucatan Vacation Rentals

As you drive along route 307 to reach Yucatan vacation rentals, you will discover the land is flat and the scenery is akin to a flat forested region much like Canada or Europe. Interspersed along the highway are boulder-laden cliffs that will lead you down to clean, white sandy beaches. Once you arrive at Yucatan villas, you are able to sit on a private beach all day watching the waves roll in or playing in the surf. Playa del Carmen is the most popular Mayan Riviera destination where plenty of Mayan resorts await.

Yucatan Villas by Fifth Avenue

If you elect to stay in Playa del Carmen rather than other Mayan Riviera destinations, you can walk down Fifth Avenue on the local strip and pet wild lions, play with boa constrictors, or watch Maruichi bands. Many of the Yucatan villas are situated on the strip to provide you the most active nightlife and access to the beautiful beach. Cruises dock close to the strip, filling up the town with new faces each Tuesday and Thursday. Because so many cruise ships dock there, you'll find many jewelry stores, arts and crafts stores, and other retail shops that offer wonderful deals.

Mayan Resorts Provide Whale Shark Sightings

Water sports are the most attractive attractions in the Mayan Riviera. From Mayan resorts, you can head out to sea on a deep sea fishing tour or scuba dive boat. If you truly want a diving experience you will never forget, make sure the dive boat is heading to the known locations where the whale sharks hang out. Whale sharks can be very elusive creatures but dive boats in the Mayan Riviera have managed to find areas where they tend to hang out. At the end of your day with water sports, it may be time to head back to your Yucatan vacation rentals for a home-cooked Mexican meal.
