  • Fantastic Vacation!

"Rating Details: I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was very happy with the location. The vacation rental was spotless. The property manager was very helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed at this villa for seven days awesome location. Our caretaker Alex was the best took great care of us all and is an amazing chef his family is amazing also. Alfredo Baez the manager of the property was checking on us to see if we needed help with tours and taxis and arranged for us to be taken to the airport the last day. We will be back because of the location, cleanliness and service. We had an amazing time. Thanks again Alex and Alfredo!"

  • Absolute perfection from beginning to end!

"The house is actually nothing like the pictures....its ten times better!! The dining room table is the most amazing table I have ever seen and can seat as many as you can bring!! The kitchen is beautiful and has everything you need for a gourmet meal or to make a light snack or lunch by the pool. The rooms are all a good size for sharing and have comfortable beds. Each bedroom inside the main house (and there are 3) has a private bathroom. There are two other bedrooms in the casita in the back of the main house that has one bathroom. The pool and swim up pool bar are simply amazing!!! We had a couple of naps taken while swinging the in the hammocks by the pool or lounging on the large bed. The house has amazing sunsets and overlooks the ocean which is just across the street. The house is just amazing and anyone would be blessed and fortunate to stay there, but David is simply wonderful and takes care of every need before you even need it! Amira is a fabulous chef and we had some of the best meals on our vacation at the house. The chicken in green sauce and the house salad will be missed on a daily basis!! She prepared delicious dishes for our breakfast every morning and fresh ceviche for our lunches by the pool. David is just so gracious and makes the entire experience wonderful. We had some issues with a golf cart that wouldn't work and he was nice enough to help us get another one. My only complaint is that we didn't get to stay longer!! I would choose to stay at this lovely home any time!! Thank you David and Amira for an amazing bachlorette trip!!!!!"

  • Perfect for Us!

"From our initial contact with the owners to Kelly's informative and welcoming greeting, our vacation was off to a great start. We enjoyed every aspect of this house and location: the overall design, comfortable beds, and well-supplied kitchen. It was pleasant to drink coffee in the morning and wine in the evening on the covered rooftop deck. From there, we watched the antics of the iguanas on the neighbor's boundary walls and palm trees. We liked the neighborhood atmosphere, especially the little children playing across the street and the peacock that strutted on a nearby roof. We like to walk and found that we could walk to most every place we wanted to go, and everyone we encountered along the way was friendly. It is a very safe place. The few cabs we used were reasonable and efficient. We definitely want to stay here again and highly recommend the house/location to anyone."

  • Our Best Mexico Vacation Yet

"After travelling to Playa del Carmen 4 times, we decided it was time for a change. Although, we enjoyed Playa, we would catch ourselves wondering if there might be a place that would combine what we love about Mexico (e.g.: clear turquoise water, white sand beaches, delicious Mexican and Mayan food, etc.) without sacrificing peace, natural beauty and authenticity of the destination. In other words, we were getting tired of 5th Ave with its pushy sales people, chain restaurants and most of all crowds and noise that are impossible to avoid in Playa. During one of our trips, we heard Akumal being mentioned as a great snorkeling spot. After doing some research, we thought: “Wow, maybe we finally found the perfect place!” And we were not disappointed, to say the least. Just one hour away from Cancun, Akumal is a hidden gem. Spectacular Half Moon Bay, amazing snorkeling, fascinating wildlife, relaxed friendly atmosphere make this peaceful and secluded destination magical. I could write a lot more about the charm of Akumal but I should get to the main reason for this review. What played the biggest role in turning our vacation into experience of a lifetime was the gorgeous condo that we stayed at. We loved everything about it! Whitney was a pleasure to work with. She made booking process seem easy, responded to all of our questions and even provided Welcome Packet filled with valuable tips and information. On the way to the condo, we stopped by Mega and stocked up on groceries. We cooked dinners in the condo every night and found the kitchen well equipped and even stocked with spices. Upon arrival to La Sirena, we were greeted by a staff member, who showed us to our condo, helped us with luggage and provided helpful information about the area, amenities, appliances, etc. Every day while we were out and about, the maid came by. Once low, drinking water was refilled right away. No matter who we talked to at La Sirena, they were always friendly and happy to help. For lunch, we usually went out. Seafood at La Cueva Del Pescador was amazing. La Buena Vida had a neat location, friendly atmosphere and a good selection of tasty food. Lol-Ha was right on the beach and my favorite spot for margaritas. We also spent a couple of days in Xel-Ha that had great buffets (included in price of admission ticket). For activities, we enjoyed snorkeling at Half Moon Bay, Xel-ha and Yal-ku lagoon. We had unforgettable time and are already counting down days to our next trip!"

Yucatan, Mayan Riviera Travel Tips

Mayan Resorts Along the Yucatan Peninsula

On your next trip to the Yucatan Peninsula, consider traveling to Mayan resorts. The Mayan Riviera in Mexico is one of the more fascinating destination spots in the world. You have tropical beaches, ancient ruins, and a myriad of marine and wildlife, all steps away from Yucatan vacation rentals. The Mayan Riviera is more than one city; in fact, it is about 11 cities. Popular destinations for Yucatan villas include but are not limited to Playa del Carmen, Playacar, Akumal, Tulum, Puerto Aventuras, Puerto Morelos, and Xpu-Ha.

Forested Scenery near Yucatan Vacation Rentals

As you drive along route 307 to reach Yucatan vacation rentals, you will discover the land is flat and the scenery is akin to a flat forested region much like Canada or Europe. Interspersed along the highway are boulder-laden cliffs that will lead you down to clean, white sandy beaches. Once you arrive at Yucatan villas, you are able to sit on a private beach all day watching the waves roll in or playing in the surf. Playa del Carmen is the most popular Mayan Riviera destination where plenty of Mayan resorts await.

Yucatan Villas by Fifth Avenue

If you elect to stay in Playa del Carmen rather than other Mayan Riviera destinations, you can walk down Fifth Avenue on the local strip and pet wild lions, play with boa constrictors, or watch Maruichi bands. Many of the Yucatan villas are situated on the strip to provide you the most active nightlife and access to the beautiful beach. Cruises dock close to the strip, filling up the town with new faces each Tuesday and Thursday. Because so many cruise ships dock there, you'll find many jewelry stores, arts and crafts stores, and other retail shops that offer wonderful deals.

Mayan Resorts Provide Whale Shark Sightings

Water sports are the most attractive attractions in the Mayan Riviera. From Mayan resorts, you can head out to sea on a deep sea fishing tour or scuba dive boat. If you truly want a diving experience you will never forget, make sure the dive boat is heading to the known locations where the whale sharks hang out. Whale sharks can be very elusive creatures but dive boats in the Mayan Riviera have managed to find areas where they tend to hang out. At the end of your day with water sports, it may be time to head back to your Yucatan vacation rentals for a home-cooked Mexican meal.
