  • Perfection on 2 floors!

"Wow.....wow, wow, wow!! This place is spectacular! Clean, well decorated, comfortable & so many other adjectives! We couldn't have asked to stay in a nicer home. The private pool is a huge bonus -- so nice & quiet. The pictures shown are beautiful but it's even better in person. Love the entire complex location -- easy to get to town but a welcome relief being "away" from town. Genny is the sweetest lady -- does an excellent job keeping everything in order. Loved that each bedroom has its own bathroom/shower/tub -- great option for multiple couples to share the main/common areas yet still have their own personal space. Beds are so, so comfortable. Linens & towels were of such great quality. The entire condo has been spared no detail. Highly recommend staying here. Shirl was so accomodating & super to work with - really helped us out while we were there. Wonderful to make a new friend so quickly without ever even meeting face to face. When we return to Cozumel we won't look to stay anywhere else. A thousand THANKS, Shirl, Steve & Genny!!!!"

  • Very nice!

"We stayed with my father. We have 3 kids, 8, 13, 14. It was a very nice place to stay with the owners being very friendly! The pool is very nice to cool off in if you don't want to run the 60 feet to the ocean. The ocean in front is very sandy and shelly so I would recommend wearing water shoes if planning on going in the water. You can walk a fair distance out because of the many sand bars making hills and valleys. You will not be able to see anything at all if you plan on snorkeling. The sunrise and sunset are both very beautiful and taking long walks on the beach is very relaxing as there are not many people around. I made friends with a yellow lab cross and she would come out with me every morning for a long walk. The town is very nice and laundry services are there. Bodega (grocery store) is also in town. If you need anything else, Merida has a Costco, Walmart, Sams club, etc. It has everything that a city should. We rented a car from Fox Rental in Cancun and drove out to the house. We arranged for the rental beforehand through Amex and when we went to pick it up, we were told that we had to buy insurance too. $50 doesn't sound too bad, until they tell you that is per day. We allowed them to put a hold on the credit card and then called the credit card company the next day to cancel the hold. I drove all the time and the only time I got frustrated was in Merida due to the high volume of traffic with narrow streets. There are also many roundabouts in Merida. If you have a good map it wouldn't be so bad. The owners of the house were extremely kind and really helped me out as we arrived later than my father. I appreciate everything they did for us and the only reason I would not recommend this, is so that it doesn't get too popular for us to reserve it again! There are many Mayan ruins around with one being 50 kms away. Lots to do and we did an overnight trip to the mayan Riviera side as well! My father is legally blind and the owners went out of their way to make sure he got to the house alright and to make sure I was notified when he got there! Thank you very much Wilma and Freddie. You have a beautiful property and we look forward to coming again!"

  • Convenient Location

"If you don't want the noise and crowds of the tourist area this is a great alternative. The Casita is clean, well kept and comfortable. The kitchen was adequate for making meals, full sized fridge, four burner gas cooker, just what was needed. The outside sitting area was comfortable, we ate a few meals outside. Internet access was very good considering we were so far out of the main area, we never had a problem checking our email etc. You are close to Akumal, and a few other beaches , Puerto Aventuras has some great restaurants if you decide you don't want to cook. A grocery store is close by, the colonia of Puerto Aventuras has some great places to get BBQ chicken, so you have the best of everything close by. The only negative is that there is no housekeeping offered, so if you stay more then a couple days (we were there almost 2 weeks) you need to supply your own cleaning products, toilet paper, garbage bags and dispose of your garbage somewhere off the property as there is no facilities for garbage disposal on the property. All and all a great place,"

Yucatan, Mayan Riviera Travel Tips

Mayan Resorts Along the Yucatan Peninsula

On your next trip to the Yucatan Peninsula, consider traveling to Mayan resorts. The Mayan Riviera in Mexico is one of the more fascinating destination spots in the world. You have tropical beaches, ancient ruins, and a myriad of marine and wildlife, all steps away from Yucatan vacation rentals. The Mayan Riviera is more than one city; in fact, it is about 11 cities. Popular destinations for Yucatan villas include but are not limited to Playa del Carmen, Playacar, Akumal, Tulum, Puerto Aventuras, Puerto Morelos, and Xpu-Ha.

Forested Scenery near Yucatan Vacation Rentals

As you drive along route 307 to reach Yucatan vacation rentals, you will discover the land is flat and the scenery is akin to a flat forested region much like Canada or Europe. Interspersed along the highway are boulder-laden cliffs that will lead you down to clean, white sandy beaches. Once you arrive at Yucatan villas, you are able to sit on a private beach all day watching the waves roll in or playing in the surf. Playa del Carmen is the most popular Mayan Riviera destination where plenty of Mayan resorts await.

Yucatan Villas by Fifth Avenue

If you elect to stay in Playa del Carmen rather than other Mayan Riviera destinations, you can walk down Fifth Avenue on the local strip and pet wild lions, play with boa constrictors, or watch Maruichi bands. Many of the Yucatan villas are situated on the strip to provide you the most active nightlife and access to the beautiful beach. Cruises dock close to the strip, filling up the town with new faces each Tuesday and Thursday. Because so many cruise ships dock there, you'll find many jewelry stores, arts and crafts stores, and other retail shops that offer wonderful deals.

Mayan Resorts Provide Whale Shark Sightings

Water sports are the most attractive attractions in the Mayan Riviera. From Mayan resorts, you can head out to sea on a deep sea fishing tour or scuba dive boat. If you truly want a diving experience you will never forget, make sure the dive boat is heading to the known locations where the whale sharks hang out. Whale sharks can be very elusive creatures but dive boats in the Mayan Riviera have managed to find areas where they tend to hang out. At the end of your day with water sports, it may be time to head back to your Yucatan vacation rentals for a home-cooked Mexican meal.
