  • Home away from home

"We were very fortunate to have a week in this wonderful condo. Traveling with children and grandchild who was 13 months this condo had everything you could think of! All the basics (and more) for cooking. Things to do if the weather does not turn out perfect. The ideal location for those wanting a quiet holiday or those with families. The location was close to all the amenities such as shopping, restaurants and right on the beach. It is also a great location for adventurers who would like to go on tours or take local transport to access Isla Mujeres, Playa del Carmen or Cozumel. Very convenient was the regular visits from the manager who spoke fluent Spanish/English and was available to answer questions. The beach and water in this part of the beach were very well kept and absolutely gorgeous!"

  • Excellent property and super location on the beach

"Stayed in one bedroom unit next to pool on first floor. Unit was very modern and the staff were very helpful. You get access to "the Gym" an upscale work out facility right up the street. Playa night life out front door of hotel and beach life out the back of the hotel ...... Perfect combination ! Would stay again for sure been to Mexico 20 times and this place is excellent"

  • Perfect beach vacation spot

"Rating Details: I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was very happy with the location. The vacation rental was spotless. The property manager was very helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Absolutely most awesome location! Just above the beach sand, looking out on ocean and beach with no obstacles. Didn't even know there were buildings of condos behind you. Free good alternating styles of live music from Zenzi enjoyed out on the patio with cocktails and dinner. Pool would get very warm like a bathtub in afternoon, but we kept the whirlpool temp cool...very refreshing and enjoyable. Condo clean and well equipped. Property management people checked in regularly and prompted addressed any issues we had."

  • Nice week and change from the mega-resorts

"We spent a very nice week at Tres Palmeras - two families and five kids ages 6-16. The house is located on a developing stretch of land with other beach houses and a few inns/villas. The land is a bit further out so that the beach borders the reef/limestone break and is not swimmable - water shoes are a must! The breaking waves, breeze and view from the hammock are world-class. However, use the sea-kayak at your own risk. Getting out is OK but it is dangerous coming back in. The neighborhood has a cenote, a few restaurants and some security (but lock up anyway!). The house has just about everything you would need, including extra water shoes and some snorkle gear. We ran out of water once so heed the notices to conserve. The view from the rooftop at night is stunning if you happen to be there for either a full or a new moon! We rented a car so that gave us some freedom to explore Tulum and the other beaches and ruins. La Zebra, as recommended by Pam, is on a beautiful stretch of beach so good we went back. Paraiso Beach has more of a public beach feel and brings in cruise ship tours. The ruins at Coba and Tulum are nice (but get there as early as possible for Tulum - the ruins and view are nice but gets very crowded with tour buses by 10 AM.). Tulum is a nice town and we found a couple cheap but tasty taco stands. Better than the hoards at Cancun or Playa de Carmen. I took off one star as the house was a little rough around the edges as you would expect of any beach house due to the elements. We couldn't get the kitchen fan to work and a few of the exterior light fixtures were broken (including a recessed light that dangled precariously from a few feet of wire on the porch)."

Yucatan, Mayan Riviera Travel Tips

Mayan Resorts Along the Yucatan Peninsula

On your next trip to the Yucatan Peninsula, consider traveling to Mayan resorts. The Mayan Riviera in Mexico is one of the more fascinating destination spots in the world. You have tropical beaches, ancient ruins, and a myriad of marine and wildlife, all steps away from Yucatan vacation rentals. The Mayan Riviera is more than one city; in fact, it is about 11 cities. Popular destinations for Yucatan villas include but are not limited to Playa del Carmen, Playacar, Akumal, Tulum, Puerto Aventuras, Puerto Morelos, and Xpu-Ha.

Forested Scenery near Yucatan Vacation Rentals

As you drive along route 307 to reach Yucatan vacation rentals, you will discover the land is flat and the scenery is akin to a flat forested region much like Canada or Europe. Interspersed along the highway are boulder-laden cliffs that will lead you down to clean, white sandy beaches. Once you arrive at Yucatan villas, you are able to sit on a private beach all day watching the waves roll in or playing in the surf. Playa del Carmen is the most popular Mayan Riviera destination where plenty of Mayan resorts await.

Yucatan Villas by Fifth Avenue

If you elect to stay in Playa del Carmen rather than other Mayan Riviera destinations, you can walk down Fifth Avenue on the local strip and pet wild lions, play with boa constrictors, or watch Maruichi bands. Many of the Yucatan villas are situated on the strip to provide you the most active nightlife and access to the beautiful beach. Cruises dock close to the strip, filling up the town with new faces each Tuesday and Thursday. Because so many cruise ships dock there, you'll find many jewelry stores, arts and crafts stores, and other retail shops that offer wonderful deals.

Mayan Resorts Provide Whale Shark Sightings

Water sports are the most attractive attractions in the Mayan Riviera. From Mayan resorts, you can head out to sea on a deep sea fishing tour or scuba dive boat. If you truly want a diving experience you will never forget, make sure the dive boat is heading to the known locations where the whale sharks hang out. Whale sharks can be very elusive creatures but dive boats in the Mayan Riviera have managed to find areas where they tend to hang out. At the end of your day with water sports, it may be time to head back to your Yucatan vacation rentals for a home-cooked Mexican meal.
