Recent Yucatan, Mayan Riviera reviews

  • First time in a condo

"My wife and I usually stay at resorts, so I thought this time we would try a condo close to the beach. It's one of the best decisions I've ever made. :) It's close to the beach one way, and just a little further the other direction to 5th Avenue. Everything is within walking distance; restaurants, bars, stores, it's awesome. The condo itself is wonderful. Everything you could ever want or need is available. It is clean and very comfortable. A full kitchen with utensils, etc., everything in the listing. The infinity pool is wonderful as well, very clean and well-maintained. And the there's the view from the pool out to the beach and ocean. It has to be seen, it's awesome. The owner is very prompt with answering questions and is a pleasure to deal with, everything was easy about the rental. I could probably say alot more, but everything in these reviews is accurate and we will definitely be renting here again."

  • Awesome villa, great hosts!

"These 3 weeks (we are Europeans and have this much of time :-)) of X-mas vacation with our grown-up girls plus boyfriends was already our 4th visit to the Riviera Maya; our second (after 2014) in Puerto Morelos. We have rented luxury villas all over the Caribbean in the past 20 years; and Brisa Y Mar was one of the very best. New, modern villa; 4 bedrooms, 4 baths, generous living space, fully equipped kitchen, everything very tastefully furnished, clean and totally state-of-the-art; great location right at the beach, walking distance (5 minutes) to the village center, private little pool, great terrace and a breathtaking view from the living area and the bedrooms to witness the sunrise and watch the things going on in and out of the beautiful sea. You cannot make it any better and we will be back for sure. The owners Eugenia and Johny, who live upstairs in this huge new house, are so nice and a great help for organizing everything from private catering to taxi transfers … ; so we got real friends with them. Thank you both for a more than perfect "home-away-from-home"."

  • Casa Cascada offers so much more than just a beautiful home in Cozumel

"This was the 2nd time in three years that my wife and I have enjoyed the beautiful residence that is Casa Cascada. Aside from the beautiful home and pristine pool, the house is located in the perfect place... walking distance to the Chedrui (grocery store and theatre), downtown, and all the fun of the Corpus Christi neighborhood. We always rent a scooter to get around (as we like to travel to the other side of the island), but folks could easily do without a rental car using taxis (cheap!0 and walking. Excellent home, excellent vacation! Visit Las Tortugas restaurant, only a few blocks from the home! Tell Xavier we said hello!"

  • Loved Everything About Chango Villa

"I stayed at Chango Villa with a group of 4 families, so we had both adults and teenagers in the house. The teens stayed on the ground floor, where they essentially had their own bedrooms, bathrooms and a kitchen, while the parents stayed on the second floor. The first floor had one bedroom, the master kitchen and a living room. We ate all of our meals outside on the covered patio in front of the pool. The experience was, in a word, exceptional. We opted for the meal plan, and Teresa, our cook, did an outstanding job at accommodating the various special dietary needs of our group, including the need for some to eat gluten-free, others who could not eat onions, and some who were vegetarian. She navigated that challenge effortlessly, and the meals were all delicious. Everything was spotless, inside and out. The mattress on the beds were firm (perfect for me, but some might not like a firm mattress), and the sheets were soft. I loved having the options of simply keeping the sliding doors of the bedroom open to let the sea breezes in, using a ceiling fan, or having the air conditioning on. Security is excellent. There is room for four cars to park next to the house. We used the flat roof for a birthday party, which was great. There is a house next door to Chango Villa that is very close to the property, but because of the foliage and clever tilework, you can barely see each other. Chango feels very private, even though you are aware of others being around you. The infinity pool was also excellent. In the afternoon it is half shaded, which made a big difference for those of us who didn't want to bake in the sun too much. The pool water for our visit in mid-March was the perfect temperature- not too warm, not too cold. There are plenty of lounge chairs on the deck and on the beach in front of the house. The beach is fine-grained sand, but as soon as you go into the ocean, the bottom is pretty rough rocks, so water shoes are a must if you plan on snorkeling there. The concierge, Jessica, was very helpful in helping us make arrangements for excursions, restaurants, etc., and Brian, the owner, came by to introduce himself at one point to see if everything was okay. It's clear that he really loves the property and tries to do right by everyone who rents it. The only weak link for us was the fact that the WiFi system worked well everywhere except in the ground floor bedrooms, where the signal was not so good. Would we stay at Chango Villa again? Yes, absolutely!"

Yucatan, Mayan Riviera Travel Tips

Mayan Resorts Along the Yucatan Peninsula

On your next trip to the Yucatan Peninsula, consider traveling to Mayan resorts. The Mayan Riviera in Mexico is one of the more fascinating destination spots in the world. You have tropical beaches, ancient ruins, and a myriad of marine and wildlife, all steps away from Yucatan vacation rentals. The Mayan Riviera is more than one city; in fact, it is about 11 cities. Popular destinations for Yucatan villas include but are not limited to Playa del Carmen, Playacar, Akumal, Tulum, Puerto Aventuras, Puerto Morelos, and Xpu-Ha.

Forested Scenery near Yucatan Vacation Rentals

As you drive along route 307 to reach Yucatan vacation rentals, you will discover the land is flat and the scenery is akin to a flat forested region much like Canada or Europe. Interspersed along the highway are boulder-laden cliffs that will lead you down to clean, white sandy beaches. Once you arrive at Yucatan villas, you are able to sit on a private beach all day watching the waves roll in or playing in the surf. Playa del Carmen is the most popular Mayan Riviera destination where plenty of Mayan resorts await.

Yucatan Villas by Fifth Avenue

If you elect to stay in Playa del Carmen rather than other Mayan Riviera destinations, you can walk down Fifth Avenue on the local strip and pet wild lions, play with boa constrictors, or watch Maruichi bands. Many of the Yucatan villas are situated on the strip to provide you the most active nightlife and access to the beautiful beach. Cruises dock close to the strip, filling up the town with new faces each Tuesday and Thursday. Because so many cruise ships dock there, you'll find many jewelry stores, arts and crafts stores, and other retail shops that offer wonderful deals.

Mayan Resorts Provide Whale Shark Sightings

Water sports are the most attractive attractions in the Mayan Riviera. From Mayan resorts, you can head out to sea on a deep sea fishing tour or scuba dive boat. If you truly want a diving experience you will never forget, make sure the dive boat is heading to the known locations where the whale sharks hang out. Whale sharks can be very elusive creatures but dive boats in the Mayan Riviera have managed to find areas where they tend to hang out. At the end of your day with water sports, it may be time to head back to your Yucatan vacation rentals for a home-cooked Mexican meal.
