  • WOW!

"What an amazing experience on Isla Mujeres! Clydes unit is fantastic, the view is absolutely breathtaking! We traveled here with another couple to celebrate our birthdays. When we get to go back we will rent from Clyde again! We loved the icemaker in the room and they had plenty of floats available for our use. The view from the master shower of the ocean is lovely! Can't wait to return!"

  • Perfect romantic, private, peaceful retreat

"My fiance and I stayed in the casita for 6 nights this July and were in heaven. The casita has amenities we were seeking that the cabanas did not offer, like a full kitchen and air conditioning. Though, after seeing the two separate cabanas I think we would have been perfectly happy in one of them as well. First, we were greeted immediately by Art, the owner. He and his wife were both kind and available to ask questions of, but they were very respectful of our privacy and did not interfere at all with our quiet times. They reside on-site in a detached home near the casita. We had daily maid service and she was amazing!! Considering the enormous amounts of sand we tracked in along with little bugs and who knows what else, we always returned to a clean and neat home. It is hard to convey just how special this place is, but it was exactly what we wanted for the right price. I looked from Akumal down to Tulum, and had stayed in Soliman Bay twice before, but the prices were not within our range, and we only needed a bed, bath and kitchen, not an elaborate mansion or pool. This fit the bill. The bay just steps from your sliding glass door is calm and fun to snorkel in, and there are three decent restaurants just south walkable along the beach or road from the casita and cabanas. I would hope anyone booking here understands that Tankah is nothing like Cancun...the restaurants close up at nine, and they are far from fancy. People come here for peace and to soak in the beauty of this area not for partying or late nights. A car rental is probably necessary to 90% of visitors, and it was nice for us to have one since we bought groceries in Tulum (huge market[s] there) and went to a couple nearby areas for the day. Having the full kitchen in the casita was handy and we prepared almost all our meals in the casita since it is equipped with everything you need. If you feel the need for a little pampering there is a big resort 5 minutes drive south called Dreams. We got the 1/2 day pass for $50 per person and got all you can eat and drink, from 12 to 6pm. They have a swim up bar, several restaurants, kayaks for borrowing, you name it. It was fun to have the little luxuries, but everywhere we went we just wanted to get back to this little Slice of Paradise in Tankah! In closing, be prepared to fall in love here. With nature, with yourself or your partner all over again, and with just being still!!"

  • Family vacation

"My wife, my daughter, and I stayed at this condo for five nights. It was clean and very comfortable. Nice family pool of which we took full advantage. Literally one minute walk to the beach with that beautiful transparent blue-green Caribbean water. Less than a three or four minute walk to restaurants and stores. The staff was great- personable, friendly and helpful. And last, but not least, dealing with Perry was a pleasure. He was wquick to answer any questions and made the rental process easy. I highly recommend staying here."

Yucatan, Mayan Riviera Travel Tips

Mayan Resorts Along the Yucatan Peninsula

On your next trip to the Yucatan Peninsula, consider traveling to Mayan resorts. The Mayan Riviera in Mexico is one of the more fascinating destination spots in the world. You have tropical beaches, ancient ruins, and a myriad of marine and wildlife, all steps away from Yucatan vacation rentals. The Mayan Riviera is more than one city; in fact, it is about 11 cities. Popular destinations for Yucatan villas include but are not limited to Playa del Carmen, Playacar, Akumal, Tulum, Puerto Aventuras, Puerto Morelos, and Xpu-Ha.

Forested Scenery near Yucatan Vacation Rentals

As you drive along route 307 to reach Yucatan vacation rentals, you will discover the land is flat and the scenery is akin to a flat forested region much like Canada or Europe. Interspersed along the highway are boulder-laden cliffs that will lead you down to clean, white sandy beaches. Once you arrive at Yucatan villas, you are able to sit on a private beach all day watching the waves roll in or playing in the surf. Playa del Carmen is the most popular Mayan Riviera destination where plenty of Mayan resorts await.

Yucatan Villas by Fifth Avenue

If you elect to stay in Playa del Carmen rather than other Mayan Riviera destinations, you can walk down Fifth Avenue on the local strip and pet wild lions, play with boa constrictors, or watch Maruichi bands. Many of the Yucatan villas are situated on the strip to provide you the most active nightlife and access to the beautiful beach. Cruises dock close to the strip, filling up the town with new faces each Tuesday and Thursday. Because so many cruise ships dock there, you'll find many jewelry stores, arts and crafts stores, and other retail shops that offer wonderful deals.

Mayan Resorts Provide Whale Shark Sightings

Water sports are the most attractive attractions in the Mayan Riviera. From Mayan resorts, you can head out to sea on a deep sea fishing tour or scuba dive boat. If you truly want a diving experience you will never forget, make sure the dive boat is heading to the known locations where the whale sharks hang out. Whale sharks can be very elusive creatures but dive boats in the Mayan Riviera have managed to find areas where they tend to hang out. At the end of your day with water sports, it may be time to head back to your Yucatan vacation rentals for a home-cooked Mexican meal.
