  • Loved our Stay!

"We own a rental property on Isla and needed a place to stay while it was occupied by guests. We were delighted with our choice of Castillo del Mar and felt right at home in this well-appointed villa. The incredible views of the Caribbean Sea from every window and terrace were truly stunning. The location is convenient to all the restaurants and loncherias in La Gloria and one block south of the new Isla 33 complex. The mayan themed décor is authentic and the kitchen is completely stocked with top of the line appliances and everything needed to prepare meals and snacks for large or small groups. Each bedroom includes a full ensuite and each room is designed so that you can enjoy that amazing view of the Caribbean Sea! The king sized beds rate among the most comfortable we have slept on and the wonderfully large master suite includes a sunken Jacuzzi that looks out onto the large pool deck. The swimming pool is beautiful and we enjoyed coming home from the beach or town each afternoon and taking a refreshing swim. After we cooled off, we would relax in one of the comfy loungers and watch the waves of the ocean and gaze at the sea for hours. There are more than enough loungers, comfortable chairs, tables and benches perfectly placed around the pool and nearby patio for entertaining, relaxing and enjoying the Isla vibe. Beach towels and everything you could think of are provided and we were happy to call Castillo del Mar our home away from home for our stay. Thank you Phil and Bernadette for thinking of everything and providing us with such a wonderful home for our mother/daughter vacation."

  • A dream come true

"Here is a summary of my experience at Hacienda Corazon First of all the first thing that pops in your head when you arrive is "WOW" This place is stacked! Someone thought about everything that would make anyone feel comfortable and happy. If it's not the 3 refrigerators in the large open kitchen or the Xbox 360 in the game room or the reliable Wi-Fi it's something else. No little detail has been left out. The back yard is full of lounge chairs and setup so you can start enjoying life around a wonderful pool. Just a few feet away you can jump into the ocean or grab one of the kayaks provided to you and head out on an adventure. The food. I have traveled to Quintana Roo many times and rarely do I get to taste such delicious homemade meals. If you have the option to have their cooks come over trust me you will not let them leave your house! Once you have all your friends and family sitting at the large table you will feel truly at home. The staff is truly genuine and delightful people who will make you feel welcome. The cleaning crew knows what they are doing and usually come later in the day after everyone has been awake for sometime. We stayed for a full week and never noticed that anything was missed. The crew is very professional and friendly. The location is ideal for a combination of things. You can stay local in Puerto Aventuras and have a good time just walking around. There are many beaches and chill/relax activities to basically take it easy. If you want to party you are just 10/15 minutes away from Playa Del Carmen. There is also a local karaoke bar 10 minutes walking distance. You are just minutes away from a plethora of parks and natural activities not to mention Tulum. We rented a car so we basically just wandered out at different times. One of my favorite moments in the trip was when I took an early morning kayak trip by myself. About 100 yards out a turtle popped his head out next to me. He hung out for a while and I was able to enjoy the sunrise. Our friends got married in the backyard. The ceremony was very special. The party was incredible. Having a home built like this is truly a dream come true."

  • Low Key Paradise

"This was our 5th stay at Vista Del Mar and we have loved everyone. This year we had a 2 bedroom condo that was simply amazing. Beachfront is an understatement and the view is amazing. Half Moon Bay provides for amazing snorkeling and VDM is centrally located to make walking the entire Akumal/Akumal Pueblo/North Akumal area easy to do. If you are looking for wild party life this is not the place but if you want a low key place to relax, enjoy the beach and do some snorkeling then pack your bags. Forget the all inclusive and try out the local places not only to stay but also to eat. You will not regret it."

  • Great place, great host, great location

"We had an excellent stay. The flat is lovely, clean, and in a great location. It has direct access to the swimming pool, which has a great shallow area for kids and a deep area for adults, and it is just a short walk to the beach and downtown Puerto Aventuras for dinner. Puerto Aventuras is, itself, central to everything, countless beaches to discover and adventures to be had up and down the Mayan Riviera coast. The property manager was great, too. He sent us a ton of information before our trip that had us feel set up and prepared, and he was available to answer questions, give us tips for what to do or where to go, and help us with any issues that might come up with the flat. I recommend this flat for anyone looking to explore that many experiences, adventure, and beauty Puerto and the surrounding areas have to offer."

Yucatan, Mayan Riviera Travel Tips

Mayan Resorts Along the Yucatan Peninsula

On your next trip to the Yucatan Peninsula, consider traveling to Mayan resorts. The Mayan Riviera in Mexico is one of the more fascinating destination spots in the world. You have tropical beaches, ancient ruins, and a myriad of marine and wildlife, all steps away from Yucatan vacation rentals. The Mayan Riviera is more than one city; in fact, it is about 11 cities. Popular destinations for Yucatan villas include but are not limited to Playa del Carmen, Playacar, Akumal, Tulum, Puerto Aventuras, Puerto Morelos, and Xpu-Ha.

Forested Scenery near Yucatan Vacation Rentals

As you drive along route 307 to reach Yucatan vacation rentals, you will discover the land is flat and the scenery is akin to a flat forested region much like Canada or Europe. Interspersed along the highway are boulder-laden cliffs that will lead you down to clean, white sandy beaches. Once you arrive at Yucatan villas, you are able to sit on a private beach all day watching the waves roll in or playing in the surf. Playa del Carmen is the most popular Mayan Riviera destination where plenty of Mayan resorts await.

Yucatan Villas by Fifth Avenue

If you elect to stay in Playa del Carmen rather than other Mayan Riviera destinations, you can walk down Fifth Avenue on the local strip and pet wild lions, play with boa constrictors, or watch Maruichi bands. Many of the Yucatan villas are situated on the strip to provide you the most active nightlife and access to the beautiful beach. Cruises dock close to the strip, filling up the town with new faces each Tuesday and Thursday. Because so many cruise ships dock there, you'll find many jewelry stores, arts and crafts stores, and other retail shops that offer wonderful deals.

Mayan Resorts Provide Whale Shark Sightings

Water sports are the most attractive attractions in the Mayan Riviera. From Mayan resorts, you can head out to sea on a deep sea fishing tour or scuba dive boat. If you truly want a diving experience you will never forget, make sure the dive boat is heading to the known locations where the whale sharks hang out. Whale sharks can be very elusive creatures but dive boats in the Mayan Riviera have managed to find areas where they tend to hang out. At the end of your day with water sports, it may be time to head back to your Yucatan vacation rentals for a home-cooked Mexican meal.
