  • Had a wonderful time

"It was our first time on the Island and what a neat blessing for the two of us. The suite was beautiful in every way. Going to sleep with the sound of the waves at night followed by waking up with the sunrise in the morning was a special experience. My wife and I only wish we could have stayed longer. If we have a chance we will return again!"

  • Views and breezes

"My husband and I spent a fabulous two weeks i September on Isla Mujeres, in lovely Casa Flamboyan. The views from all levels of the house are spectacular. I loved watching the sunrise from the back deck in the morning, then moving to the front verandah to read a book in the hammock overlooking the Bay. Afternoons we would relax by the pool and watch the pods of dolphins play just off shore. Evenings would start on the front verandah watching the sunset, and end on the back deck watching the full moon rise over the Caribbean, washing the ocean with sparkling light, and cruise ships glimmering on the horizon. The huge waves crashing on shore provided the perfect musical accompaniment. We fell asleep many nights watching and listening to the surf. The cross breezes were beautiful and we only turned on the AC at bedtime when it was time to close and lock the doors for the night. The pool area and back deck were always comfortable even on the hottest days due to the breezes. Just beautiful. The apartment itself (Azul) is cute, with a small kitchen and sitting room, a bedroom and bathroom with a window overlooking the ocean in the shower. Lots of storage, amazing natural lighting thanks to all the neat cutouts and skylights, and great night time lighting with dimmable lamps and pot lights. There were ceiling fans in the bedroom, living room and on the front verandah. Real is a bigger unit with a proper kitchen. Keep that in mind if you plan on cooking a lot. We like Azul for its privacy. We were so lucky that no one else was renting while we were there, and we had the entire property to ourselves. We spent a lot of time lounging on the many decks and patios, and swimming in the refreshing pool. We beach combed and walked a lot. Proximity to town is excellent, easily walkable along the malecon with its beautiful views and breezes. The colonias are also an easy walk away. Cabs are plentiful and all you had to do was stand in front of the house and one would pass by every minute or two. There is off street parking for your golf cart, as well. Lupe was in every couple of days to tidy up and change sheets and towels; she was very thorough yet unobtrusive. She was easily accessible should we require anything at all. All in all, we had a very nice time and would recommend this house to family and friends, and would stay there again ourselves."

  • Perfect for our get away!

"We stayed in one of the upstairs suites for a quiet get away. The description of the room was perfect. We could lay in our bed and watch the sun rise in the morning over the ocean. The patio off the room was the perfect place to sit and look at the amazing view! The pool was the perfect place to cool off and we loved the little shaded area on the patio. Having access to walk on the beach was a major perk to this property! The property was well maintained with all of the needed supplies. The manager was sweet and helpful, answering all of our questions and finding information for us about a whale shark tour. We loved the location...close to town, but not too close. We also loved that it was within walking distance of our favorite restaurant (Mango Cafe)! I would highly recommend this place!"

  • January 2015 getaway

"The accommodations were spacious and beautiful. The maid service was wonderful, and the transport to and from the airport was an inexpensive bonus. The location right on the beach, and close to the shopping district was incredible. The front desk had tour packages and transportation to all the main attractions around the area. The condo was everything we expected, except it needs some maintenance, as the washing machine leaked continually, and was a huge slipping hazard!!!! My husband slipped on the wet floor, and almost broke his toe. We had to put a towel down on the floor to soak up the water, and we had to replace it everyday. The toaster was broken, and we not only had to hold the button down to for it to work, but also turn the toast to cook on the other side. The microwave above the counter top stove did not work. I would have given the rental 5 stars if it were not for the maintenance issues. Despite all we had a wonderful stay, and we would definitely consider renting the property again!!!"

Yucatan, Mayan Riviera Travel Tips

Mayan Resorts Along the Yucatan Peninsula

On your next trip to the Yucatan Peninsula, consider traveling to Mayan resorts. The Mayan Riviera in Mexico is one of the more fascinating destination spots in the world. You have tropical beaches, ancient ruins, and a myriad of marine and wildlife, all steps away from Yucatan vacation rentals. The Mayan Riviera is more than one city; in fact, it is about 11 cities. Popular destinations for Yucatan villas include but are not limited to Playa del Carmen, Playacar, Akumal, Tulum, Puerto Aventuras, Puerto Morelos, and Xpu-Ha.

Forested Scenery near Yucatan Vacation Rentals

As you drive along route 307 to reach Yucatan vacation rentals, you will discover the land is flat and the scenery is akin to a flat forested region much like Canada or Europe. Interspersed along the highway are boulder-laden cliffs that will lead you down to clean, white sandy beaches. Once you arrive at Yucatan villas, you are able to sit on a private beach all day watching the waves roll in or playing in the surf. Playa del Carmen is the most popular Mayan Riviera destination where plenty of Mayan resorts await.

Yucatan Villas by Fifth Avenue

If you elect to stay in Playa del Carmen rather than other Mayan Riviera destinations, you can walk down Fifth Avenue on the local strip and pet wild lions, play with boa constrictors, or watch Maruichi bands. Many of the Yucatan villas are situated on the strip to provide you the most active nightlife and access to the beautiful beach. Cruises dock close to the strip, filling up the town with new faces each Tuesday and Thursday. Because so many cruise ships dock there, you'll find many jewelry stores, arts and crafts stores, and other retail shops that offer wonderful deals.

Mayan Resorts Provide Whale Shark Sightings

Water sports are the most attractive attractions in the Mayan Riviera. From Mayan resorts, you can head out to sea on a deep sea fishing tour or scuba dive boat. If you truly want a diving experience you will never forget, make sure the dive boat is heading to the known locations where the whale sharks hang out. Whale sharks can be very elusive creatures but dive boats in the Mayan Riviera have managed to find areas where they tend to hang out. At the end of your day with water sports, it may be time to head back to your Yucatan vacation rentals for a home-cooked Mexican meal.
