  • Casa Falcone: could be Casablanca and you could be Bogart and Bergman

"Casa Falcone is unique. It is a tribute to an architect who knows well the styles of Gaudi and Art Nouveau albeit with a Mexican flair. Nothing is straight within this condominium complex; everything has an atypical flow that really works. It is reminiscent of something you might find in Barcelona Spain not something more typically found in a Mexican vacation resort. Casa Falcone is further enhanced by the wildlife and natural charm found within and around - there are the flowers, birds, sea life and beaches that would appeal to all. The pool within the complex is on the smaller side but that is perfect for a retreat that is a mere hundred metres from the Caribbean. When I returned from diving off the reefs in Cozumel, the pool helped me to cool off by swimming a couple of crooked lengths. It was also helpful for me as I introduced my wife to snorkelling. Nor can I overlook the fact that it was a great setting for having a beer or other refreshment and for Liz, it was a great place to read 3 books in one week! The apartment itself is well outfitted with essentials for a making a vacation stay fabulous. Let's be clear: I am an excellent chef who normally likes to cook up a tropical storm. The Casa's kitchen is small and that is what I wanted and needed. On this vacation, I wanted to eat locally but have the bare essentials for breakfast and lunch. Had I wanted to make a big meal (but why would I?) it would have been a bit awkward, the pots were there, the knives were available but that is not why I was in Cozumel. The fridge held my beer, the counter held the wine and spirits. Enough said. Both bedrooms are lovely and airy. Off the "master" there is a small balcony upon which I would hang my wet beachwear. If there was perhaps anything I would have liked, it was a drying rack. This was not a real inconvenience. Equally important, we did NOT rent a car in Cozumel and I do not recommend it. Although I have driven in Mexico and know Cozumel reasonably well, it is important to consider that taxis are cheap and safe enough to discourage driving. Furthermore, it puts money in the hands of the locals who are 100% reliant upon the tourist economy. Quiet, visually interesting, well decorated in a Mexican theme, Casa Falcone was perfect for me and the princess. Another couple could have joined us with ease but for Liz and I, the privacy we had in the Casa was great, the property managers attentive to our needs and the maid wonderful."

  • Wonderful Stay at Playacar Palace!!!!

"My husband and I just returned February 8, 2014, from a wonderful week stay at the Playacar Palace in Playa del Carmen Mexico. Once again, from start to finish working with Monica was fantastic. She was always quick to respond to emails and really helpful with finding out information from the resort. We will definitely be booking with her in the future. This was our second trip to the Playacar Palace and it was even better than the first time. The resort is right on the most beautiful beach and the service was great, the food was outstanding, and the facilities were top notch. The extras that you get by booking through Monica cannot be beat!! The transfers to and from the airport were a real plus! Thanks again Monica for helping us out and we had a wonderful experience and are looking forward to working with you again!!! Mucho Gracias!"

  • Hola Mexico

"Rating Details: I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was very happy with the location. The vacation rental was spotless. The property manager was very helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed our stay in this Condo. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Everything was exactly as presented in the video. The Condo was located on the beach and close to all the action on Fifth Avenue. The only down side was the WIFI conection in the condo. Many times we had no connection. Otherwise our stay was great. We are planning to return next year to see more of Playa Del Carmen that we were not able to see on this trip. See you next year."

  • Casa Perla del Mar is BEAUTIFUL!!!

"This house is beautiful!! The layout of the house was perfect for 4 couples. We stayed for one week and spent days at the Tulum Ruins (20 min away), Chichen Itza (2.5 hours away), Playa del Carmen (30 min away) and Xplor (30 Min away). The rest of the days were perfect to just relax by the pool and walk along the beach. Italy and Elias cooked us 3 wonderful meals. It was so nice to not have to worry about cooking dinner and trying something new. I definitely recommend the vegetarian chile rellano and the flan was the best I had ever had. The only part of the trip the was disappointing was the dive / snorkel place down the road from the house - Casa Cenote. The guide ended up being different than who the reservation was with, so the snorkel trip ended up being different than originally booked (at a beach further away, which we drove to with the guide in our car) and they charged us more than originally agreed on. Wasnt a total bust, but was not as great as they said it would be. Some key points about the house - Neighborhood - very quiet and always felt safe. Nearby Food - Blue Sky Pizza restaurant was wonderful with great service, not expensive. Pool and outside areas - absolutely beautiful - pool water was a little chilly in October. Wifi - never had an issue - always worked. Location - not far from Tulum city center and perfect if you dont like the chaos of Cancun and all the tourists. 2 kitchens - came in handy often, one for cooking and one for making margaritas. Road from main highway to house - a little bumpy - but gave us a lot of laughs - Haha:) We have rented a few vacation homes before, but I have to say this one was the most beautiful and relaxing. Victor, the owner, was extremely helpful while booking and arranging our trip. The wealth of information / travel tips he provides was wonderful. He obviously cares for his home and the renters he graciously opens his home to. We hope to return to Tulum and Casa Perla del Mar with our kids in the near future. Thank you Victor, Italy and Elias!!! We had an amazing vacation!!!"

Yucatan, Mayan Riviera Travel Tips

Mayan Resorts Along the Yucatan Peninsula

On your next trip to the Yucatan Peninsula, consider traveling to Mayan resorts. The Mayan Riviera in Mexico is one of the more fascinating destination spots in the world. You have tropical beaches, ancient ruins, and a myriad of marine and wildlife, all steps away from Yucatan vacation rentals. The Mayan Riviera is more than one city; in fact, it is about 11 cities. Popular destinations for Yucatan villas include but are not limited to Playa del Carmen, Playacar, Akumal, Tulum, Puerto Aventuras, Puerto Morelos, and Xpu-Ha.

Forested Scenery near Yucatan Vacation Rentals

As you drive along route 307 to reach Yucatan vacation rentals, you will discover the land is flat and the scenery is akin to a flat forested region much like Canada or Europe. Interspersed along the highway are boulder-laden cliffs that will lead you down to clean, white sandy beaches. Once you arrive at Yucatan villas, you are able to sit on a private beach all day watching the waves roll in or playing in the surf. Playa del Carmen is the most popular Mayan Riviera destination where plenty of Mayan resorts await.

Yucatan Villas by Fifth Avenue

If you elect to stay in Playa del Carmen rather than other Mayan Riviera destinations, you can walk down Fifth Avenue on the local strip and pet wild lions, play with boa constrictors, or watch Maruichi bands. Many of the Yucatan villas are situated on the strip to provide you the most active nightlife and access to the beautiful beach. Cruises dock close to the strip, filling up the town with new faces each Tuesday and Thursday. Because so many cruise ships dock there, you'll find many jewelry stores, arts and crafts stores, and other retail shops that offer wonderful deals.

Mayan Resorts Provide Whale Shark Sightings

Water sports are the most attractive attractions in the Mayan Riviera. From Mayan resorts, you can head out to sea on a deep sea fishing tour or scuba dive boat. If you truly want a diving experience you will never forget, make sure the dive boat is heading to the known locations where the whale sharks hang out. Whale sharks can be very elusive creatures but dive boats in the Mayan Riviera have managed to find areas where they tend to hang out. At the end of your day with water sports, it may be time to head back to your Yucatan vacation rentals for a home-cooked Mexican meal.
