  • Casa Santa Ana

"This house was one of the best things about my trip to Merida.I came to have dental work done by one of the very competent dentists in the area (MUCH cheaper than in NY) as well as sightsee (I don't drive) and Casa Santa Ana was the perfect base, close to everything I wanted to do.For trips to the amazing ruins, I was able to join small guided tours, and the rest of the time I walked , took buses or taxis... The house itself is a dream..The front door opens to a really high-ceilinged room with beautiful tiled floors and a Nakashima dining table, and manages to retain a sophisticated Mexican feel while featuring the owner's eclectic, slightly bohemian furniture and art.Everything is done with taste and carefully curated, one has the impression of being a guest in a lovely home, not a "renter". I loved the coolness and quiet of the interior when coming in off the street, and of course, those dips in the pool under the blooming bouganvillea.I'll come back when I can."

  • Fantastic House!!

"Our family of six stayed Oct 15-21, 2014 in Casa Guacamaya. It was a great house. We loved how roomy it was for our family. It was very clean. The kitchen was well stocked, we especially appreciated the abundance of purified water, paper towels, and laundry detergent. The beds were firm, but still comfortable. There were lots of towels and bedding. We loved the location. The path to the beach was beautiful. There were very few people at the beach which made it really nice. The house was close to everything we needed, but still nice and quiet. We always felt very safe, even at night. The internet was slow in the house sometimes, but it wasn't a big deal. The aviary is just through the backyard so you hear the birds nice and early, but we were warned of that so we came prepared with ear plugs. The pool was large and beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The maid service was a pleasant extra. She did a great job. This is a great place for a family. We highly recommend it."

  • great condo in fantastic location

"Wonderful spacious condo overlooking the marina from the terrace and just yards from the beautiful pool overlooking the beach. It is really close to the community's shops and restaurants making easy it access facilities if you don't drive. It is ideal for couples and younger families but we went off peak and it was a little quiet in the evening for our teenage sons but perfect for us. Condo is really well equipped but girlies don't forget to take your hairdryer if you need one."

  • second home

"We have been staying at Villa Oasis off and on for 6 years now and hopefully will continue to do so for many more! It is a beautiful property in the heart of Cozumel. We were always so thrilled to be able to return to its cool, peaceful lush gardens after a day at the beach. The house is conveniently situated close to everything you may need and you can walk everywhere! There is a wonderful fresh fruit juice stand at the end of the block and you can arrange for the 'churro man' to come by the house with his fresh assortment of delicious churros! This extra spacious property is a perfect fit for families..."

Yucatan, Mayan Riviera Travel Tips

Mayan Resorts Along the Yucatan Peninsula

On your next trip to the Yucatan Peninsula, consider traveling to Mayan resorts. The Mayan Riviera in Mexico is one of the more fascinating destination spots in the world. You have tropical beaches, ancient ruins, and a myriad of marine and wildlife, all steps away from Yucatan vacation rentals. The Mayan Riviera is more than one city; in fact, it is about 11 cities. Popular destinations for Yucatan villas include but are not limited to Playa del Carmen, Playacar, Akumal, Tulum, Puerto Aventuras, Puerto Morelos, and Xpu-Ha.

Forested Scenery near Yucatan Vacation Rentals

As you drive along route 307 to reach Yucatan vacation rentals, you will discover the land is flat and the scenery is akin to a flat forested region much like Canada or Europe. Interspersed along the highway are boulder-laden cliffs that will lead you down to clean, white sandy beaches. Once you arrive at Yucatan villas, you are able to sit on a private beach all day watching the waves roll in or playing in the surf. Playa del Carmen is the most popular Mayan Riviera destination where plenty of Mayan resorts await.

Yucatan Villas by Fifth Avenue

If you elect to stay in Playa del Carmen rather than other Mayan Riviera destinations, you can walk down Fifth Avenue on the local strip and pet wild lions, play with boa constrictors, or watch Maruichi bands. Many of the Yucatan villas are situated on the strip to provide you the most active nightlife and access to the beautiful beach. Cruises dock close to the strip, filling up the town with new faces each Tuesday and Thursday. Because so many cruise ships dock there, you'll find many jewelry stores, arts and crafts stores, and other retail shops that offer wonderful deals.

Mayan Resorts Provide Whale Shark Sightings

Water sports are the most attractive attractions in the Mayan Riviera. From Mayan resorts, you can head out to sea on a deep sea fishing tour or scuba dive boat. If you truly want a diving experience you will never forget, make sure the dive boat is heading to the known locations where the whale sharks hang out. Whale sharks can be very elusive creatures but dive boats in the Mayan Riviera have managed to find areas where they tend to hang out. At the end of your day with water sports, it may be time to head back to your Yucatan vacation rentals for a home-cooked Mexican meal.
