  • Villa Las Uvas Amazing... again!

"Our Family and Friends recently returned from our 2nd stay at Villa Las Uvas in Cozumel and once again we were thrilled with the experience! Nearly a perfect location, close to town but remote enough for privacy and intimacy. Beautiful clean home with an amazing outdoor area for Swimming, Socializing or just Relaxation. Comfortable, spacious and well appointed bedrooms are also a highlight. the Island offers everything the vacationing family and friends could ask for... Beautiful beach clubs, great fishing, world class diving and snorkeling plus fantastic Mexican culture, hospitality and cuisine."

  • Great well maintained home!

"A rental property is as good as the management who are willing to take the time and effort to keep it comfortable. JOe and Fulvio do an excellent job in caring for this "home away from home". From the abundance of hot water to the fully equipped kitchen this home's ample space with cold A/C in most rooms, and quaint back yard with a sparkling clean pool, will not disappoint. Located close to small grocery stores and walking distance to some restaurants, this residential area is a refreshing change from the bustling cruise ship waterfront. We frequented the Paradilla Mission restaurant a couple of blocks away. Great food at moderate prices, friendly staff, and a unique setting unlike restaurants back home. The maid service was impressive and included in the price! One minor note, that it can be a bit noisy from the street traffic. It's nothing a good pair of earplugs will solve if you are a light sleeper. All in all, a great place to come back for a return visit."

  • Superb!

"We just returned from a week’s stay at Casa de Suenos in the 6-unit Sol y Luna condos. What a beautiful space – we loved the condo! It was immaculate and spacious, with tons of light and fresh breezes. The aqua and white décor enhances the beach-y feel. The pictures in the photos are really the way it is. You can see the ocean from the back balcony; furniture and beds are very comfortable. Karl is very responsive, and Ramon (manager who lives nearby) was also very responsive. The condo is located less than one block from the water. There is a beach bar/food establishment (Unico) that is only a few steps from the beach entrance. We rented chairs and umbrellas there and parked ourselves for hours, gazing at the water, swimming now and then, and reading. (The shrimp wraps from Unico are delicious!) We cooked a bit at the condo, but mostly ate out. Food in PM is fantastic! (and not expensive). While you are there, try to get to the Jungle Spa for a Mayan massage. We didn’t stay long enough for further adventures, but next time cenotes and snorkeling at the reef for sure! Also next time we will rent bikes to ride to town and back. The distance from the condo is walkable, but if we had had bikes we would have explored the side streets and beyond. We didn’t rent a car, but the taxi system is very organized and taxis are cheap, so we used them liberally. Puerto Morelos is a small, quiet town with super friendly people. We felt completely safe there. Our biggest problem, like a lot of other visitors to PM, was that we didn’t stay long enough!"

  • Great Stay

"We spent two weeks at this villa with friends. The beach was farther than the 5 minutes quoted in the description but that really wasn't a problem since we had rented a car. Frankie, the caretaker, was great. He was always willing to help with any problem we encountered. We felt very safe in the little gated community. For all of you who are walkers, it was about 20 minutes or so to the north end of Tulum. It's an easy walk but gets pretty hot in mid-day. The house was very clean and quite roomy, the kitchen was well equipped (although we did have to ask for a replacement toaster as ours didn't work), closets were large, all linens were furnished. Washer and dryer worked well. We visited Coba, Muyil, Playa del Carmen, Cozumel, Punta Allen (I wouldn't recommend this drive except in a 4-wheel drive vehicle) and several other areas in the vicinity. The cenotes at Coba were great! Overall, this was a really good experience. We had a few problems - the internet wouldn't connect a lot of the time (Malu, the property manager, tried to address this as soon as we reported it but apparently it is difficult to get people out to work on that type of problem) and our grill fell apart as soon as we started to put the fish on. It was quite pleasant to sit on the patio or by the pool at the beginning and end of each day and we did a lot of that. The complex was quiet and the neighbors were friendly. Lucky, the dog, was an excellent bonus as she came to visit several times a day. I would recommend staying at this villa when visiting Tulum."

Yucatan, Mayan Riviera Travel Tips

Mayan Resorts Along the Yucatan Peninsula

On your next trip to the Yucatan Peninsula, consider traveling to Mayan resorts. The Mayan Riviera in Mexico is one of the more fascinating destination spots in the world. You have tropical beaches, ancient ruins, and a myriad of marine and wildlife, all steps away from Yucatan vacation rentals. The Mayan Riviera is more than one city; in fact, it is about 11 cities. Popular destinations for Yucatan villas include but are not limited to Playa del Carmen, Playacar, Akumal, Tulum, Puerto Aventuras, Puerto Morelos, and Xpu-Ha.

Forested Scenery near Yucatan Vacation Rentals

As you drive along route 307 to reach Yucatan vacation rentals, you will discover the land is flat and the scenery is akin to a flat forested region much like Canada or Europe. Interspersed along the highway are boulder-laden cliffs that will lead you down to clean, white sandy beaches. Once you arrive at Yucatan villas, you are able to sit on a private beach all day watching the waves roll in or playing in the surf. Playa del Carmen is the most popular Mayan Riviera destination where plenty of Mayan resorts await.

Yucatan Villas by Fifth Avenue

If you elect to stay in Playa del Carmen rather than other Mayan Riviera destinations, you can walk down Fifth Avenue on the local strip and pet wild lions, play with boa constrictors, or watch Maruichi bands. Many of the Yucatan villas are situated on the strip to provide you the most active nightlife and access to the beautiful beach. Cruises dock close to the strip, filling up the town with new faces each Tuesday and Thursday. Because so many cruise ships dock there, you'll find many jewelry stores, arts and crafts stores, and other retail shops that offer wonderful deals.

Mayan Resorts Provide Whale Shark Sightings

Water sports are the most attractive attractions in the Mayan Riviera. From Mayan resorts, you can head out to sea on a deep sea fishing tour or scuba dive boat. If you truly want a diving experience you will never forget, make sure the dive boat is heading to the known locations where the whale sharks hang out. Whale sharks can be very elusive creatures but dive boats in the Mayan Riviera have managed to find areas where they tend to hang out. At the end of your day with water sports, it may be time to head back to your Yucatan vacation rentals for a home-cooked Mexican meal.
