  • Great Apartment, Great Location!

"My husband and I visit our family in Argentina approximately twice per year and routinely rent apartments there whenever we visit. Out of more than 25 different apartments that I've rented in Buenos Aires, I can say that the process for renting this particular apartment was the easiest and most efficient. I really appreciated that. I also appreciated the ability to pay via credit/debit card without additional fees or hassle. Most Argentine owners or agencies require you to pay in cash with only a small down payment permitted via credit card. This is a huge hassle and a security risk (traveling with so much cash), so this made a great impression. I also really appreciated the helpful emails I received from the owner and apartment manager. Everyone was on top of the booking, check-in, and check-out process, allowing for a smooth visit. As for the apartment itself, I think the description listed on VRBO sells it short. It's advertised as small, but I wouldn't really say that. It may not be enormous, but it's plenty big enough for two guests. I wouldn't recommend it for more than two people, but my husband and I had plenty of space. The bed was very comfortable and I appreciated the higher-end sheets and towels that the owners brought from the US. We don't know much about furniture or design, but I could tell that the owners have put a lot of thought (and money) into those elements. We enjoyed them even if we couldn't really appreciate them for what they are. The location of the apartment was great for our purposes as our family lives in Palermo. All our trips outside the neighborhood were fast and easy using taxis. The location next to the zoo was kind of fun because we could hear the monkeys and even the elephants when standing out on the balcony! If you have never visited Buenos Aires and don't speak Spanish then you might want to consider staying in a hotel with a concierge and English speaking staff to assist you for your first visit, but otherwise I highly recommend this apartment as a fantastic "home base." It is MUCH cheaper than staying in a five star hotel (which run about U$S 500-750 per night) and is honestly just as nice. Just as a tip, if you enjoy that type of luxury then don't miss afternoon high tea service at the Alvear Palace Hotel or the spa at the Park Hyatt Palacio Duhau. You can combine the benefits of your own private apartment with a five star hotel stay! Thanks to the owners for a great visit -- we will be back!"

  • Great place to stay!

"Recoleta was a great location and access to all of the necessities. Great shopping and fabulous restaurants. The condo had all of the amenities and was very comfortable and pleasingly decorated. It was well-maintained and in good shape. The owner personally met with us for check-in and check-out. We would be very happy to book this condo in the future."

  • Second Year in a Row

"We just finished our second month-long trip to Buenos Aires in the last two years. We stayed in this great place last year and could not think of any reason to go anywhere else this year. The apartment is accurately displayed and described in the listing. You get the top floor of the building all to yourselves. The terrace/veranda is an amazingly peaceful spot. It’s high enough (the eighth floor) so much of the noise disappears. It is a great place to split a bottle of Malbec before heading out into night. Palermo Soho has many great well-known restaurants within walking distance (Don Julio and La Cabrera, to name just two) but other lesser known gems. Located on Thames, it’s near Plazas Serrano, Armenia and Italia. BsAs cabs are readily available and quite inexpensive. The whole city is yours for a US$15 cab ride (at most) or for the adventuresome, hop a bus. The apartment is well-appointed and very comfortable. No feeling of claustrophobia as the rooms are quite spacious. The pictures do not do the apartment justice, especially the terrace. We did some two- and three-day side trips and when we got back we felt like it was home. Finally, Thom, the owner, and Guille, the manager are just great. Guille, Elaine is still talking about the private Tango lesson."
