  • Great Apartment, Great Location!

"My husband and I visit our family in Argentina approximately twice per year and routinely rent apartments there whenever we visit. Out of more than 25 different apartments that I've rented in Buenos Aires, I can say that the process for renting this particular apartment was the easiest and most efficient. I really appreciated that. I also appreciated the ability to pay via credit/debit card without additional fees or hassle. Most Argentine owners or agencies require you to pay in cash with only a small down payment permitted via credit card. This is a huge hassle and a security risk (traveling with so much cash), so this made a great impression. I also really appreciated the helpful emails I received from the owner and apartment manager. Everyone was on top of the booking, check-in, and check-out process, allowing for a smooth visit. As for the apartment itself, I think the description listed on VRBO sells it short. It's advertised as small, but I wouldn't really say that. It may not be enormous, but it's plenty big enough for two guests. I wouldn't recommend it for more than two people, but my husband and I had plenty of space. The bed was very comfortable and I appreciated the higher-end sheets and towels that the owners brought from the US. We don't know much about furniture or design, but I could tell that the owners have put a lot of thought (and money) into those elements. We enjoyed them even if we couldn't really appreciate them for what they are. The location of the apartment was great for our purposes as our family lives in Palermo. All our trips outside the neighborhood were fast and easy using taxis. The location next to the zoo was kind of fun because we could hear the monkeys and even the elephants when standing out on the balcony! If you have never visited Buenos Aires and don't speak Spanish then you might want to consider staying in a hotel with a concierge and English speaking staff to assist you for your first visit, but otherwise I highly recommend this apartment as a fantastic "home base." It is MUCH cheaper than staying in a five star hotel (which run about U$S 500-750 per night) and is honestly just as nice. Just as a tip, if you enjoy that type of luxury then don't miss afternoon high tea service at the Alvear Palace Hotel or the spa at the Park Hyatt Palacio Duhau. You can combine the benefits of your own private apartment with a five star hotel stay! Thanks to the owners for a great visit -- we will be back!"

  • Simpy the BEST.

"Our group of three business men enjoyed an amazing 10 days from 30 August to 8 September. Janet could not have been more accommodating to our schedule and so very helpful in getting arrangements and details worked out. The place was everything that was promised and more. So many thoughtful details (110 volt, washer and dryer, larger refrigerator, dish washer, lots of hot water, wiFi, Vonage to call clients and home etc.). The location is fantastic to get to transportation as well as the market (Quilmes 6.9, cheese, fresh fruit and vegetables), amazing food, beverages, coffee etc. etc. are all around. The balcony is a great perch to sit and watch the goings on of the neighborhood each evening after our days of travel throughout BA. It was always our location to enjoy appetizers before going out (sociably late) for dinner at local restaurants eating the best rib eye ever and drinking the best red wines and visiting with locals. And the added bonus is of course Ruben. We had him fix a meal for us one night and take us to the best steak house in town on another. To be honest, Ruben beat the steakhouse for the most amazing meal. The combination of a meal never to be forgotten and his remarkable knowledge of South America makes for evenings of lively conversation and a much greater depth to your travel experience. Don’t miss the opportunity to have at least one private dinner by Ruben and do it early in your stay because you will likely want to do it again. Ruben steered us to the best leather shops to get gifts for our wives (the European leather in the best shops is amazing and resulted in many smiles upon our return). Also the places for empanadas, pasta and even travel to Colonia (and what to look for while there). He also was incredibly helpful with money exchange (best rates anywhere). In short the combination of a great place to stay, exceptional personal assistance and the current exchange rate made for the most amazing stay. We’ll be back with family and friends in the future!"
