  • Great experience in Buenos Aires

"I had the opportunity to go back to Buenos Aires after 9 years and I was pleasantly surprised with the apartment and the owner's excellent customer service. The apartment is very well located; close to an excellent nightlife area full of restaurants and bar still a few blocks away from all the noise. Very modern and nice décor, very clean and comfortable. I'd like to point out the Panaderia just downstairs... be careful they have excellent food and pastries... weight could pile up quickly!"

  • Fabulous location in Buenos Aires

"My husband and I stayed in the loft for 10 days and loved it. We wanted to experience BA as if we were Argentinians, not tourists in a generic hotel downtown and were not disappointed. Las Canitas is a wonderful and safe neighborhood with dozens of great restaurants. Staying in Las Canitas gave us an idea of what how the Argentinians love to enjoy life, but was also close to all the sights we wanted to see. Plus, the loft was removed from the noise, so we slept well. The loft has everything you could possibly need from pots and dishes, to Wifi, TV (English channels, too), etc. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to experience the true BA."

  • Great Apartment, Great Location!

"My husband and I visit our family in Argentina approximately twice per year and routinely rent apartments there whenever we visit. Out of more than 25 different apartments that I've rented in Buenos Aires, I can say that the process for renting this particular apartment was the easiest and most efficient. I really appreciated that. I also appreciated the ability to pay via credit/debit card without additional fees or hassle. Most Argentine owners or agencies require you to pay in cash with only a small down payment permitted via credit card. This is a huge hassle and a security risk (traveling with so much cash), so this made a great impression. I also really appreciated the helpful emails I received from the owner and apartment manager. Everyone was on top of the booking, check-in, and check-out process, allowing for a smooth visit. As for the apartment itself, I think the description listed on VRBO sells it short. It's advertised as small, but I wouldn't really say that. It may not be enormous, but it's plenty big enough for two guests. I wouldn't recommend it for more than two people, but my husband and I had plenty of space. The bed was very comfortable and I appreciated the higher-end sheets and towels that the owners brought from the US. We don't know much about furniture or design, but I could tell that the owners have put a lot of thought (and money) into those elements. We enjoyed them even if we couldn't really appreciate them for what they are. The location of the apartment was great for our purposes as our family lives in Palermo. All our trips outside the neighborhood were fast and easy using taxis. The location next to the zoo was kind of fun because we could hear the monkeys and even the elephants when standing out on the balcony! If you have never visited Buenos Aires and don't speak Spanish then you might want to consider staying in a hotel with a concierge and English speaking staff to assist you for your first visit, but otherwise I highly recommend this apartment as a fantastic "home base." It is MUCH cheaper than staying in a five star hotel (which run about U$S 500-750 per night) and is honestly just as nice. Just as a tip, if you enjoy that type of luxury then don't miss afternoon high tea service at the Alvear Palace Hotel or the spa at the Park Hyatt Palacio Duhau. You can combine the benefits of your own private apartment with a five star hotel stay! Thanks to the owners for a great visit -- we will be back!"

  • Better Than Described

"We chose this apartment because of the 50-plus positive reviews. We totally agree with the reviews. In fact, the apartment is better than described. First, the property owner is exceptionally pleasant and dedicated to making your stay as memorable as possible. He'll start by sending you a packet filled with information about the city and includes a much-needed city bus map. We highly recommend sitting down and figuring out the bus system. Don't waste your time trying to ask a tourism agency about the buses; just read the owner's materials. Second, the neighborhood is safe. Like all cities, BA has crime, but the apartment is located far enough away from the touristy areas where some sketchy characters hang out that you get a chance to live like a local without worry. There are small markets all around the apartment, a large grocery store called El Coto just 4 blocks east, and bakeries and shops for anything you need. Third, if you want to cook, which we did, the apartment has everything you'll need. Restaurants in BA, especially in touristy areas like Puerto Madero and Recoletta, aren't cheap. We sought out local flavors in restaurants a few blocks behind the apartment. Too many to name, but the farther you walk away from the cemetery the more authentic shops seem to become. Fourth, the apartment is ideally located if you arrive at the small airport (AEP). It's a short 15-minute bus trip. The big airport is a tortuous ride or expensive taxi. The owner knows the airports and airlines very, very well. Heed his advice and try to fly into AEP. Also, since you're so close to AEP, we strongly encourage people to see Iguazu Falls. It's a 90-minute flight and well worth it. Don't waste your money on a guided tour. Just walk the trails. Finally, and we can't say this enough, the owner is exceptionally accessible, both before and during your stay. If you have a question, you can e-mail, call, or text him and expect an immediate response. He truly cares about your experience."
