  • Perfect location, gorgeous apartment

"Palermo Soho is the place to stay in B.A with its great cafes, interesting boutiques, and sense of design and style. This apartment is right in the heart of it and one of the nicest rentals I have had while traveling abroad on a conservative budget. Plus, the rental management company is very helpful and fluent in English. After coming from Brazil where the rental management representative didn't speak a word of English, I realized just how useful this is for answering simple questions about the apartment and the neighborhood. Highly recommended for anyone other than families with small children (due to the modern layout and non-childproof stairs to the rooftop patio)."

  • Tropical Paradise in Paraty!

"Just returned from a week's stay at this gorgeous house in Paraty. Were very fortunate to have been greeted and given tour by the owner, who was lovely and provided great information and assistance getting settled in. Even though it was local winter, weather was fantastic with high's in the low 80's and low's in the mid-60s with no rain! The house is very nicely furnished with great open-air feel. Plenty of space for our party of 6 and the highlights for us were i) eating Rogeria's wonderful cooking out on the patio for most of our meals, ii) exploring Paraty for shopping and dining, iii) the waterfall that you can slide down (Tobeigera?) with the Tarzan bar (where we watched Brazil defeat Chile - hooray!), iv) cooking class in Paraty - definitely a must! and v) boat trip to private beach (Sobrado) with hiking and beautiful swimming area. Cooking class was a great time for our family (2 adults, 2 kids ages 14 and 20) and Richard/Yara Roberts were fantastic hosts full of fun and information. Paraty is a beautiful town with a great historical center with shops/restaurants/galleries/bars and also cool/cheaper main city with 1-2 streets of good shopping and restaurants/bars. Definitely recommend getting car/van service to/from Rio/Sao Paolo as boat was easy to get us where we needed to go and we only had to use taxi's/buses a couple of times during the week (not worth paying for a rental car). Rogeria (the cook) was a real treat and we were able to communicate with her using Spanish, some English and sign language - she even helped us by cooking alternative dishes for those with allergies/preferences that didn't fit with the main menu. Having someone cook and clean for us each day was a revelation on vacation - not sure how we'll ever go back to fending for ourselves! Bring some bug spray as their were mosquitoes, but it wasn't too bad. Go-go-go to this wonderful getaway location!"

  • Great place, great value

"The penthouse is a great place to rent for families or couples. I had my teenage and older children. Everyone loved the huge deck and the views of Medellin. The pool table was a nice bonus. All the rooms are large, well appointed and each has it's own nice bathroom. Tons of space, great location, nice owner. This was the best place we stayed at on our trip and would recommend it to anyone with a large group wanting to spend a few days in Medellin."

Brazil Travel Tips

Best Seasons to Visit Brazil Vacation Rentals

Brazil is the largest country in South America. A large portion of it sits within the tropics and enjoys a warm year-round tropical climate. The southern parts are more temperate and can get quite cold in the wintertime. The summer months are from October through May, and winter runs from June through September, although Rio de Janeiro and the Amazon regions rarely get cold. If you are planning a visit to either of these areas, you can choose your own travel season. If you don’t like crowds, you will want to avoid Rio de Janeiro during carnival time which occurs in February each year. Millions of people from around the world flock during this time to see the colorful parades and experience the festive vibe. If you want to explore the southern regions, the best season to travel is during the warmer summer months. You can hire a car to get around and enjoy exploring this lesser-known side of Brazil at leisure.

Getting to Brazil Lodging

The primary airport in Brazil is Garoulos International Airport in Sao Paolo. Most international airlines use this as their point of entry into Brazil and for this reason, it is the busiest airport in South America. From here, you can get connecting flights on to Rio de Janeiro, Brazilia, Manaus and various other destinations in Brazil and South America. There are daily scheduled flights that bring visitors from Europe, North America, South Africa and other South American countries. Be prepared to walk quite a distance from the aircraft through passport control and baggage claim. If you plan to stay in Sao Paolo then arrange for a private transfer from the airport or negotiate a set fare with the taxi driver. Sao Paolo is a city that never sleeps and traffic on the highway getting into the city is congested 24 hours a day. If you take a metered taxi, you may find that you have paid more than you bargained for unless you negotiate ahead of time.

Comfortable Accommodation at Brazil Villas

One of the things that may strike you as you arrive in cities such as Rio de Janeiro and Sao Poalo is the vast number of high-rise buildings. These two cities are among the most populous in the world with the vast number of people living in high-rise buildings. Many of the vacation homes are conveniently located in major tourist areas so visitors have easy access to the attractions. Unless you rent a penthouse suite, the apartments are generally quite compact. They are still functional and comfortably furnished. In general, they can accommodate between two and four adults. For those that have larger budgets, you can consider renting a villa which offers a far more spacious accommodation. Villas are generally available in the smaller towns and seaside resorts.

Rio De Janeiro Vacation Rentals

Rio de Janeiro is one of Brazil’s most popular travel destinations. The world-famous Copacabana Beach, Sugarloaf Mountain and the impressive statue of Christ the Redeemer are all well-known landmarks of the city. Located on the Tropic of Capricorn, Rio enjoys a warm tropical climate. This is one of the reasons it is such a popular vacation destination. Visitors can enjoy the beaches and city sights throughout the entire year. The most popular time to visit Rio is in February when the world-famous Carnival and street parade take place. As with most major cities, accommodations can be expensive. Vacation rentals make sense for people who plan to visit for more than just a few days. They offer more affordable accommodation options.
