  • Ideal Recoleta apartment for exploring Buenos Aires

"Our 9 day stay in Cecilia's charming studio apartment gave us access to much that Buenos Aires has to offer. We found the city to be very walkable and the location of the apartment was ideal. The apartment was clean, well maintained and fit our needs. Cecilia is a warm, genuine and caring host. She was always attentive and was interested in helping us to enjoy our stay. This property offers extremely good value and the opportunity to experience different neighborhoods in Buenos Aires. Taxis are very reasonable and plentiful, though we often choose to walk and were able to spend time in Palermo, La Boca, Recoleta, San Telmo and the Federal district."

  • Just as advertised--loved it

"Stayed about five weeks in April/May 2014. The apartment was just as advertised--a comfortable, sunny one BR with great views; easy subte and bus access; lots of local grocers, restaurants etc.; not at all a touristy neighborhood but only a short walk (8 blocks?) to core areas of Palermo Soho and Palermo Hollywood. Everything in the apartment functioned (neither a/c nor heat were needed so no comment on those). Living room sofa/chair weren't comfortable. Not a fancy place at all; it shows its age but if you want all modern fixings you'll have to spend a lot more. When we traveled away from Buenos Aires, we missed the apartment and were happy to get back to it, because it felt like home. Very quick and easy communication with owner. My wife and I would happily go back."

  • Casa Palermo met expectations (and they were high)

"We had never been to Buenos Aires before nor had we used VRBO. Well, our stay at Casa Palermo was the right choice. Great location. Great space. Great owner. It all worked....and we had a great time. We were especially appreciative of the owner who provided many helpful suggestions regarding where to shop, good restaurants, how to use local transportation, how to tip, and on and on. All suggestions proved to be perfect and help to make our stay enjoyable. The townhouse was quiet, clean, and just what we wanted. I highly recommend the space to others."

Brazil Travel Tips

Best Seasons to Visit Brazil Vacation Rentals

Brazil is the largest country in South America. A large portion of it sits within the tropics and enjoys a warm year-round tropical climate. The southern parts are more temperate and can get quite cold in the wintertime. The summer months are from October through May, and winter runs from June through September, although Rio de Janeiro and the Amazon regions rarely get cold. If you are planning a visit to either of these areas, you can choose your own travel season. If you don’t like crowds, you will want to avoid Rio de Janeiro during carnival time which occurs in February each year. Millions of people from around the world flock during this time to see the colorful parades and experience the festive vibe. If you want to explore the southern regions, the best season to travel is during the warmer summer months. You can hire a car to get around and enjoy exploring this lesser-known side of Brazil at leisure.

Getting to Brazil Lodging

The primary airport in Brazil is Garoulos International Airport in Sao Paolo. Most international airlines use this as their point of entry into Brazil and for this reason, it is the busiest airport in South America. From here, you can get connecting flights on to Rio de Janeiro, Brazilia, Manaus and various other destinations in Brazil and South America. There are daily scheduled flights that bring visitors from Europe, North America, South Africa and other South American countries. Be prepared to walk quite a distance from the aircraft through passport control and baggage claim. If you plan to stay in Sao Paolo then arrange for a private transfer from the airport or negotiate a set fare with the taxi driver. Sao Paolo is a city that never sleeps and traffic on the highway getting into the city is congested 24 hours a day. If you take a metered taxi, you may find that you have paid more than you bargained for unless you negotiate ahead of time.

Comfortable Accommodation at Brazil Villas

One of the things that may strike you as you arrive in cities such as Rio de Janeiro and Sao Poalo is the vast number of high-rise buildings. These two cities are among the most populous in the world with the vast number of people living in high-rise buildings. Many of the vacation homes are conveniently located in major tourist areas so visitors have easy access to the attractions. Unless you rent a penthouse suite, the apartments are generally quite compact. They are still functional and comfortably furnished. In general, they can accommodate between two and four adults. For those that have larger budgets, you can consider renting a villa which offers a far more spacious accommodation. Villas are generally available in the smaller towns and seaside resorts.

Rio De Janeiro Vacation Rentals

Rio de Janeiro is one of Brazil’s most popular travel destinations. The world-famous Copacabana Beach, Sugarloaf Mountain and the impressive statue of Christ the Redeemer are all well-known landmarks of the city. Located on the Tropic of Capricorn, Rio enjoys a warm tropical climate. This is one of the reasons it is such a popular vacation destination. Visitors can enjoy the beaches and city sights throughout the entire year. The most popular time to visit Rio is in February when the world-famous Carnival and street parade take place. As with most major cities, accommodations can be expensive. Vacation rentals make sense for people who plan to visit for more than just a few days. They offer more affordable accommodation options.
