  • Amazing gardens and house in el Valle de Los Chillos!

"What an amazing month! Myself, my wife, and three children (7,9,13) stayed at Vicky's wonderful Villa Jardin for the month of June, 2014. The reality of the property is far superior to the photos. The gardens are amazing, the pool crystal clear. Vicky and her family were helpful, attentive, and respected our privacy. The house is clean, nicely detailed, tastefully decorated, and thoroughly updated. Views of snow-capped Antisana and el Ilalo from the patio are world class. Hummingbirds (I counted 5 species), butterflies, and lightning bugs are just the beginning of the wildlife that abounds in this beautiful valley. We used the solar-heated pool just about every day. We spent 2-3/4 weeks at the house in Conocoto and 1-1/4 weeks traveling around. We had an amazing time in Otavalo, Papallacta, and the Galapagos, but I enjoyed our time in San Miguel de Conocoto as much if not more. Vicky was extremely helpful and kind during our trip. She arranged transportation from the airport, bought some food items for us before we arrived, brought us shopping on our first day, advised us on local travel, helped us with changing money and some local banking transactions, and was an excellent neighbor and friend, as was her daughter, Pamela. While the rest of Ecuador has a lot to offer--so does the Valle de los Chillos. I climbed Volcan Pasochoa and saw a pair of Andean Condors. La Cascada del Rio Pita is unique, beautiful, and exciting. The market in Sangolqui on Thursdays and Sundays is the quintessential highland market. San Pedro del Tingo is a wonderful Ecuadorean town in a classic setting. Daily walks to buy ice cream from any number of tiendas with the kids were a regular highlight. Buying bread baked daily while it was still warm was a treat. Roast chicken from Pollo Stav. They deliver. Crazy delicious. Go for it! You'll be glad you did, and always glad to get back to Villa Jardin. This place is fantastic."

  • Location.. location.. location.. comfort.. comfort.. comfort

"This is a wonderful apartment for vacationing in Buenos Aires! It is perfectly sized for a couple or small family and is furnished with all appliances and furniture one needs to live well and be comfortable. Its location is ideal for people who are not familiar with the city because it is near to the large bus station, train station, and major attractions of the city. It is located in Retiro near the intersection of two major arteries of the city, so it is very easy to get to any place one wishes to go including grocery stores and pharmacies. Due to the proximity to the major highways, the heavy traffic is sometimes noticeable when the windows are open. Within short walking distances are many fine dining restaurants and pubs that serve full menus of wonderful food. The management and the owners of the apartment are extremely nice and accommodating. They helped make our month in Buenos Aires extra special from checking in to checking out. We simply could not have found a better place to live while in Buenos Aires, and we will cherish our experiences here until we can return in the future! We highly recommend it!"

  • 4 weeks in excellent apartment

"We stayed in this apartment in May and we loved it. We would recommend it if you are travelling to BA and would like to stay in a central location close to public transport, cafés (we loved Café del Botánico, just 50m from the apartment), shopping, gyms, art galleries, etc The apartment is quiet, well kept and roomy and has all the facilities required for your stay. Marina, the owner's representative, was wonderful and replied to all our queries effectively and efficiently. We've already recommended this apartment to some friends and will stay there again during our next visit to the city."

Brazil Travel Tips

Best Seasons to Visit Brazil Vacation Rentals

Brazil is the largest country in South America. A large portion of it sits within the tropics and enjoys a warm year-round tropical climate. The southern parts are more temperate and can get quite cold in the wintertime. The summer months are from October through May, and winter runs from June through September, although Rio de Janeiro and the Amazon regions rarely get cold. If you are planning a visit to either of these areas, you can choose your own travel season. If you don’t like crowds, you will want to avoid Rio de Janeiro during carnival time which occurs in February each year. Millions of people from around the world flock during this time to see the colorful parades and experience the festive vibe. If you want to explore the southern regions, the best season to travel is during the warmer summer months. You can hire a car to get around and enjoy exploring this lesser-known side of Brazil at leisure.

Getting to Brazil Lodging

The primary airport in Brazil is Garoulos International Airport in Sao Paolo. Most international airlines use this as their point of entry into Brazil and for this reason, it is the busiest airport in South America. From here, you can get connecting flights on to Rio de Janeiro, Brazilia, Manaus and various other destinations in Brazil and South America. There are daily scheduled flights that bring visitors from Europe, North America, South Africa and other South American countries. Be prepared to walk quite a distance from the aircraft through passport control and baggage claim. If you plan to stay in Sao Paolo then arrange for a private transfer from the airport or negotiate a set fare with the taxi driver. Sao Paolo is a city that never sleeps and traffic on the highway getting into the city is congested 24 hours a day. If you take a metered taxi, you may find that you have paid more than you bargained for unless you negotiate ahead of time.

Comfortable Accommodation at Brazil Villas

One of the things that may strike you as you arrive in cities such as Rio de Janeiro and Sao Poalo is the vast number of high-rise buildings. These two cities are among the most populous in the world with the vast number of people living in high-rise buildings. Many of the vacation homes are conveniently located in major tourist areas so visitors have easy access to the attractions. Unless you rent a penthouse suite, the apartments are generally quite compact. They are still functional and comfortably furnished. In general, they can accommodate between two and four adults. For those that have larger budgets, you can consider renting a villa which offers a far more spacious accommodation. Villas are generally available in the smaller towns and seaside resorts.

Rio De Janeiro Vacation Rentals

Rio de Janeiro is one of Brazil’s most popular travel destinations. The world-famous Copacabana Beach, Sugarloaf Mountain and the impressive statue of Christ the Redeemer are all well-known landmarks of the city. Located on the Tropic of Capricorn, Rio enjoys a warm tropical climate. This is one of the reasons it is such a popular vacation destination. Visitors can enjoy the beaches and city sights throughout the entire year. The most popular time to visit Rio is in February when the world-famous Carnival and street parade take place. As with most major cities, accommodations can be expensive. Vacation rentals make sense for people who plan to visit for more than just a few days. They offer more affordable accommodation options.
