  • Amazing Views in a Secluded Setting!

"My girlfriend and I had the pleasure of staying here for 4 days in October, and can not recommend it enough!! While the pics and description online look great, they do not even do it proper justice. The view from the back deck of Volcan Orsono was spectacular....and you get this same view from the very spacious Master Bedroom in the upstairs loft. The house came complete with everything you could possibly want or need for your stay. The kitchen was very well stocked with all items you would need, including an array of spices. We did not use the fireplace but it was stocked with plenty of firewood. The furniture, linens, bedding, towels, etc. were all in immaculate condition, and well cared for. The Wifi worked with no issues and was pretty fast. Getting to the house can be a little tricky given its very secluded location. Marian provided very detailed directions, but there are a few turns that cold be easy to miss, so just pay close attention when driving. It would probably be best to make sure your first drive to the house is done in the daylight as it can be a little tricker in the dark. Marian was extremely attentive and answered all of my numerous questions very quickly and thoroughly. Her directions also included important places such as the grocery store in Puerto Veras which was great. We drove to Puerto Veras and had a great afternoon(there are numerous shops, restaurants, and a nice beach on the lakefront). It was about a 30 minute drive. There were only 2 of us, but the house is definately big enough to accommodate larger groups....and there is also a little cabin adjacent to the house that is just as nice and sleeps 2 more people. All in all, we had an amazing time and would highly recommend The House of Divine Views!!"

  • comfy respite

"This was a nice, quiet getaway from Santiago and near a national park with good hikes. Natasha was easy to communicate with, flexible, and helpful but in no way intrusive. We used the self-service apartment and enjoyed the fall avacados, grapes and parsimmons. All were delicious. We had our 6 year old daughter along, who is not a pet person, but she loved the dogs. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a quiet getaway, some nice hikes, or a stay a bit away from Vina or Valpariaso. There is not much to do in the town of Lemeche, itself, but still a few good resturants, a nice town square/plaza, and friendly folk."

  • Amazing Vacation Home

"Out of a four week holiday in Chile, staying here was the highlight for us. We have a two year old and four year old and the house was well suited for them after we moved some breakables out of the way. To sum it up: Incredible views, tons of outdoor space to explore and play, quiet, very well equipped kitchen, helpful and friendly hosts, and dogs who became our kids' best friends. It is closer to Pucon than we thought - less than 15 minutes to the center. Also, we managed with a small car, no 4-wheel drive."

  • Too Bad there's not a 10-star option here!

"Until 2 weeks ago when I went to Susaan's I hadn't had a true vacation where I could disconnect, do nothing and absolutely love it! I've lived in Chile for 6 years and traveled all over the country and the valley where Susaan's house is is one of the most beautiful I've seen, and only 1.5 hours north of Santiago. I must have spent at least 10 hours, over 4 days, just sitting on the terrace looking out over the valley, enjoying a glass of wine, beer or coffee. When I found the energy I took a stroll through the orange orchard and returned to the pool beside the terrace to cool off and grab another beer! If you want to accomplish a bit more you'll be 30 minutes by car from some of Chile's most beautiful beaches, including Chile's version of Malibu or Pebble Beach, where you'll find a 5+ kilometer nature walk between the waves of the Pacific ocean crashing on the volcanic rock and the multi-million dollar homes hanging off the coastal hills. If it's the right time of year you can even see penguins from the beach. For wine lovers Susaan's house is near a valley that has a few of Chile's best wineries, such as Errazuriz and Von Siebenthal. For those looking for a bucket-list day, you can drive up to the ski resort Portillo and have a pisco sour over-looking the Incan Lake. Every morning you wake up to the amazing view and find your breakfast laid out for you and coffee hot and ready. There's a mini-fridge if you want to go to the store and have some snacks on hand. You also have use of the barbecue grill. You will need a car. For those coming to visit Chile from abroad, driving in Chile is very safe and easy. It's just like Europe or the USA and Canada. I highly recommend Susaan's as a base camp to see some of the best (and less touristy) parts of Chile, near Santiago. For those looking to disconnect, I can't think of a better place. I can't wait to go back!"

Chile Travel Tips

Getting to Chile Vacation Rentals

The main travel hub in Chile is the capital city of Santiago. The national Chilean carrier is the primary airline that operates into Santiago and provides regional and domestic connections within South America. If you are traveling from further afield, such as North America or Europe, you will possibly need to route via Sao Paolo or Buenos Aires before getting a connection on to Santiago. If you are traveling domestically within Chile, you may consider looking into the air passes that are offered from time to time by the airlines. These passes provide you with a far more affordable way to get around rather than purchasing point-to-point flights.

Chile Travel Attractions and Activities

Chile runs almost the full length of the western coast of South America. The landscape is dominated by the Andes Mountains and beautiful coastline. With these natural attractions, there are many outdoor recreational activities available for visitors.

The ski resorts in Chile are ranked as some of the best in the world. National ski teams from Europe and North America frequently spend their summer training months in Chile to hone their skills. There are a vast number of resorts. Some of the most popular are located just a short drive from Santiago. Smaller resorts can be found all the way down to Patagonia and very popular with the locals.

Trekking and mountaineering are other popular pastimes. Climbing in the Andes can be challenging and very technical in parts. Patagonia is well known for its excellent routes and climbers travel from all over the world to test their skills on the terrain. It is not a place for inexperienced mountaineers or climbers. The terrain and the climate are harsh and mistakes can be fatal. Chile has a well-established mountain rescue organization that provides support to climbers if they run into trouble. When trekking, ensure you have their number handy so you can get in touch with them if needed.

If you enjoy water sports, a great excursion is to go sea kayaking along the coast. See dolphins and possibly even whales in season. The coastline is spectacularly beautiful and when kayaking, you can get up close to birds, seals and other marine life.

If you enjoy culture and history, there are many museums to visit in Santiago and other major cities. While Chile once had many beautiful building displaying colonial architecture, many have been damaged or destroyed by the earthquakes that frequently rock the country.

Best Time of Year to Visit Chile Vacation Houses

If you plan to go skiing or mountaineering, the best time of year to visit is during the colder winter months. The winter season starts in May and snowfalls are usually consistent enough for the ski resorts to open in early June. The ski season typically runs through August or September, depending on snowfall and temperatures. If you want to enjoy the coastline and many beautiful beaches, the ideal time to visit would be during the warmer summer months which run from October through April.

Vina del Mar Vacation Rentals in Chile

Vina del Mar is Chile’s fourth largest city and located in the province of Valparaiso. It is known as one of the country’s premiere beach destinations. Many tourists, both local and foreign, flock here each year to enjoy the sunshine and wide variety of water sports available. There is an annual music festival that takes place which attracts many visitors. The casino is another of the city's major draws. It is built in art deco style and surrounded by beautiful gardens.
