"Como todos los años, todo fue excelente. Soy fan número uno del apartamento, del edificio y sobre todo de Iraida. No me canso de ir y de recomendarlos ampliamente."Guest: Lucy Date of Stay: November 2014 Review Submitted: November 10, 2014View listing
"Very comfortable, clean and spacious apartment for four adults in a great central location within easy walking distance to excellent restaurants, bars, tour pickup point, a small supermarket and historical sights. The apartment was well equiped and the air condition/fan combo was very efficient in the bedrooms. Fans were more than adequate in the living areas and the gorgeous cool lanai where we spent most nights over drinks and conversation. The roof terrace is not be missed offering superb views of the old city and the ocean beyond. Everything worked, including the excellent shower with good pressure and hot water as well as the washing machine and dryer. Lots of space for storage and hanging clothes. We throughly enjoyed our stay at this apartment. The housekeeper Aidee and the concierge at the lobby were most helpfull, friendly and did their job well."Guest: Michael T. "The owners were very prompt to answer us when we were booking our stay. They were kind and professional. The building staff was helpful and friendly. The laundry services at building were a great blessing. The swimming pool a life saver: we used it every day in the late afternoon to wear our three children (ages 5 to 8) out. The apartment is conveniently located: near but no in Bocagrande, getting around to the mayor attractions is not a problem. "El Laguito" is relatively quiet compared to other areas of the city, the beach is close by and is not as crowded as Bocagrande. The apartment is clean, tastefully well furnished. When we needed to extend our stay on short notice, the owners were understanding and flexible. This place was a blessing for us."Guest: Hen raising ducklings. "Although this was my first stay at this property, it represented my second time renting from this owner, Ignacio. I echo all of the other five-star reviewers' comments. Simply: 1.) Ignacio is super-attentive and 2.) his team (drivers and housekeeper) graciously, professionally, and punctually performs its assigned tasks. Enjoy the multitude of fine-dining - all, predominately, within a brief (uphill) walk away. Taxis are abundant, inexpensive, and conveniently available right outside your front door. Visit Guatapé. Ride the Metrocable. Experience Medellin (clean, efficient, modern, safe, vibrant, etc.) and its unassuming inhabitants - from your home-base in Poblado!"Guest: Dave C. Colombia Travel Tips
For many years, travelers were warned of visiting Colombia because of the political factions that were regarded as dangerous. In the past decade though, the government has taken strong measures to improve security in order to attract more foreign tourists. Tourist numbers have increases significantly and many travel magazines rate Columbia as top travel destination because of the diverse landscapes and many natural and cultural attractions. It is nevertheless still a destination where you need to be street smart. Don’t leave baggage unattended and don’t walk around the city on your own at night. Take a taxi and have a map or guide book with you so you know where you are going. Don’t display expensive jewelry or cameras when you are walking around. On the plus side, you will be able to find colorful souvenirs to take home and be able to sample what is arguably the world’s best coffee. No doubt you will want to take some home with you but be aware of customs allowances.
Finding Your Way to Colombia Vacation Apartments
The primary airport in Colombia is the El Dorado International Airport in Bogota. The airport is a relatively modern structure and hosts a number of local, regional and international airlines. There are relatively frequent commercial flights to North America. The closest U.S. city is Miami which is a three- to four-hour flight away. New York City is four to five hours away by plane and Los Angeles is eight to nine hours away by plane. For travelers from Europe, there are regularly scheduled commercial flights from both Paris and Madrid. People traveling from other parts of the world can route via any of these hubs or major cities in South America, such as Sao Paolo or Buenos Aires. El Dorado’s central location in the region makes it one of the busiest airports in South America in terms of transporting both passengers and cargo. If you are traveling to another destination in Colombia, it is best to fly. While there are good road links, traveling times can be long because of the many mountain passes that need to be navigated.
