  • Convenient Location & Outstanding Service

"Although this was my first stay at this property, it represented my second time renting from this owner, Ignacio. I echo all of the other five-star reviewers' comments. Simply: 1.) Ignacio is super-attentive and 2.) his team (drivers and housekeeper) graciously, professionally, and punctually performs its assigned tasks. Enjoy the multitude of fine-dining - all, predominately, within a brief (uphill) walk away. Taxis are abundant, inexpensive, and conveniently available right outside your front door. Visit Guatapé. Ride the Metrocable. Experience Medellin (clean, efficient, modern, safe, vibrant, etc.) and its unassuming inhabitants - from your home-base in Poblado!"

  • Beautiful place to stay in the "Centro historico"

"There's not too many ways to describe this little gem located exactly where you want to be when visiting Cartagena. It's quiet, full of light, very clean, the style is elegant... we stayed a week at this apartment with our two children (of 9 and 11), and even though it is just a 1 bedroom, we had plenty of space. The pools on the top of the building are a real treat after half a day outside in the heat, this place is like a retreat. In the middle of everything but enough isolated from the street to feel away from the urban buzz. We loved SO much staying at Maria Isabel's place, during our first week in Colombia, that on our way back from Palomino, 2 weeks later, we booked an extra night. The kids still talk about it today, we wouldn't have been able to enjoy Cartagena the same way without this apartment, Nor without the amazing breakfasts, with fresh local exotic fruits salads and other local treats, Claribel, the very sweet housekeeper, prepared for us in the morning !... Claribel's cooking was "the cherry on the cake", as we say in French. If you want to treat yourself, while discovering an amazing colonial town, just book this place, you won't regret it. Really."

  • Excellent stay

"This vacation unit is simply beautiful. The view is a million bucks on its own. - you can't beat it. The unit's minimal chic design was very, very nice. The furnishings and accommodations were very much to our expectations. The unit furnishings are very luxury and extremely comfortable. The living room and master bedroom balcony's panoramic view of the Caribbean Sea were incredible - at day and at night. One of our favorite things to do was to take pictures of sunset on the living room balcony. We also used the pool almost every day .We did not get a chance to use the sauna or gym, but they looked very nice as well. The security is very friendly and is present 24/7. The location is COP$5000 to El Centro and COP$10000 to the airport - very convenient! Overall, a fantastic stay at the unit and it really made our first visit to Colombia a tremendous experience!"

Colombia Travel Tips

Attractions and Activities near Colombia Vacation Rentals

There are many cultural attractions, museums, historic buildings and cultural festivals that make Columbia an attractive destination to visit. Because of its location, Columbia has had many cultural influences, including Indian, Spanish and African influences. This is evident as you explore the many historic sites of the area.

Columbia is considered by many to be an adventure mecca. There is whitewater rafting, jungle trekking, horseback riding, and a variety of extreme sports available. The Pacific coastline is a favorite place for whale watching. Visitors can experience nature and wildlife tours in the Amazon jungle with experienced guides. The beaches are places where you can relax and simply enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings as you soak up the sun.

Colombia Travel Tips

For many years, travelers were warned of visiting Colombia because of the political factions that were regarded as dangerous. In the past decade though, the government has taken strong measures to improve security in order to attract more foreign tourists. Tourist numbers have increases significantly and many travel magazines rate Columbia as top travel destination because of the diverse landscapes and many natural and cultural attractions. It is nevertheless still a destination where you need to be street smart. Don’t leave baggage unattended and don’t walk around the city on your own at night. Take a taxi and have a map or guide book with you so you know where you are going. Don’t display expensive jewelry or cameras when you are walking around. On the plus side, you will be able to find colorful souvenirs to take home and be able to sample what is arguably the world’s best coffee. No doubt you will want to take some home with you but be aware of customs allowances.

Finding Your Way to Colombia Vacation Apartments

The primary airport in Colombia is the El Dorado International Airport in Bogota. The airport is a relatively modern structure and hosts a number of local, regional and international airlines. There are relatively frequent commercial flights to North America. The closest U.S. city is Miami which is a three- to four-hour flight away. New York City is four to five hours away by plane and Los Angeles is eight to nine hours away by plane. For travelers from Europe, there are regularly scheduled commercial flights from both Paris and Madrid. People traveling from other parts of the world can route via any of these hubs or major cities in South America, such as Sao Paolo or Buenos Aires. El Dorado’s central location in the region makes it one of the busiest airports in South America in terms of transporting both passengers and cargo. If you are traveling to another destination in Colombia, it is best to fly. While there are good road links, traveling times can be long because of the many mountain passes that need to be navigated.
