  • perfect place for a family reunion!

"We enjoyed our vacation a great deal. Your apartment is wonderful! We were so close to everything and the kids loved having a pool right downstairs. The beds were extremely comfortable, as was the AC. The views were spectacular and we LOVED racing outside after Colombia beat Uruguay and hearing/seeing the celebration as we moved to the round of 8. The security detail in the front of the building was so pleasant and helpful. We loved having access to a fully equipped kitchen and being able to cook our own meals and eat around the large dining room table as a family. The laundry machines were also super convenient. One member of our party has a great deal of difficulty walking. The apartment was accessible to her and being so close to everything made it easy for her to join the rest of the family in sightseeing, etc. What a perfect vacation. Thank you for your hospitality. We will definitely be staying here the next time we are in Cartagena."

  • Best overall deal, will keep going back

"You cant ask for more, the price is amazing for this great brand new modern apt in a centrally located super safe neighborhood. Very clean and comfortable. Close to everything you want to see when visiting Bogota, the owner is American and super helpful! I have been to some other places in similarly good areas in Bogota but they are either much more expensive or located further away from the tourist areas (zona Rosa, el parque. andino ) .. traffic is so bad in Bogota that if you are more north than this you will spend a lot of time and money on taxis.. (most of the apts on this site are way north.. also safe but too far away , beware, I made that mistake once and never again) Building security guards are very nice and helpful also.. I got the first booking of the month deal at $49 a night which is a steal, pays to book ahead"

  • Excellent property in great location

"Very comfortable, clean and spacious apartment for four adults in a great central location within easy walking distance to excellent restaurants, bars, tour pickup point, a small supermarket and historical sights. The apartment was well equiped and the air condition/fan combo was very efficient in the bedrooms. Fans were more than adequate in the living areas and the gorgeous cool lanai where we spent most nights over drinks and conversation. The roof terrace is not be missed offering superb views of the old city and the ocean beyond. Everything worked, including the excellent shower with good pressure and hot water as well as the washing machine and dryer. Lots of space for storage and hanging clothes. We throughly enjoyed our stay at this apartment. The housekeeper Aidee and the concierge at the lobby were most helpfull, friendly and did their job well."

  • excellent family condo

"My husband, myself and our 4 children (ages 12, 10 and 5) spent a month in this condo. We were looking for something family friendly, and we chose this condo for its location (out of the heart of the city but an easy taxi ride to the sights). I was immediately impressed with the size. We never felt crowded! The living area is really spacious (much larger than the pictures suggest). All of the rooms are fairly large, which afforded everyone their own quiet space (which greatly reduces bickering). There is ample outdoor space and the views are fantastic. My husband and I took every opportunity to sit in the hammocks and enjoy the sea breezes. The beds are comfortable, but if you are a couple that "spoons" you might want to bring your own king size sheets to eliminate the crack between the beds. The condo is otherwise very well equipped with a/c, hot water(not always a given!), ample kitchen tools and plenty of beach towels. The pool is on the small side, but again, the views are unbeatable and there were several days we had the pool all to ourselves. My kids were thrilled to have the beach and the pool so close at hand. While I was somewhat unnerved by the prospect of a full-time maid, I quickly began to appreciate her services. My husband and I started out trying to decide what to shop for, but we finally ended up just giving her the equivalent of our weekly food budget and left the shopping to her. She is a fabulous cook and we ate like kings! She happily incorporated more veggies into her traditional meals and her fresh fruit juices were always eagerly anticipated (lulo and passion fruit were our family favorites). Whenever we went out to eat, my kids complained that the food wasn't as good as what we ate at "home". The owners are easy to work with. They were responsive and helpfully suggested cab fares, and places to take the kids (gelato in the Old City is not to be missed!) This was by far the most relaxing vacation I've had in a long time. I feel blessed and lucky to have found this condo. We couldn't have been happier."

Colombia Travel Tips

Attractions and Activities near Colombia Vacation Rentals

There are many cultural attractions, museums, historic buildings and cultural festivals that make Columbia an attractive destination to visit. Because of its location, Columbia has had many cultural influences, including Indian, Spanish and African influences. This is evident as you explore the many historic sites of the area.

Columbia is considered by many to be an adventure mecca. There is whitewater rafting, jungle trekking, horseback riding, and a variety of extreme sports available. The Pacific coastline is a favorite place for whale watching. Visitors can experience nature and wildlife tours in the Amazon jungle with experienced guides. The beaches are places where you can relax and simply enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings as you soak up the sun.

Colombia Travel Tips

For many years, travelers were warned of visiting Colombia because of the political factions that were regarded as dangerous. In the past decade though, the government has taken strong measures to improve security in order to attract more foreign tourists. Tourist numbers have increases significantly and many travel magazines rate Columbia as top travel destination because of the diverse landscapes and many natural and cultural attractions. It is nevertheless still a destination where you need to be street smart. Don’t leave baggage unattended and don’t walk around the city on your own at night. Take a taxi and have a map or guide book with you so you know where you are going. Don’t display expensive jewelry or cameras when you are walking around. On the plus side, you will be able to find colorful souvenirs to take home and be able to sample what is arguably the world’s best coffee. No doubt you will want to take some home with you but be aware of customs allowances.

Finding Your Way to Colombia Vacation Apartments

The primary airport in Colombia is the El Dorado International Airport in Bogota. The airport is a relatively modern structure and hosts a number of local, regional and international airlines. There are relatively frequent commercial flights to North America. The closest U.S. city is Miami which is a three- to four-hour flight away. New York City is four to five hours away by plane and Los Angeles is eight to nine hours away by plane. For travelers from Europe, there are regularly scheduled commercial flights from both Paris and Madrid. People traveling from other parts of the world can route via any of these hubs or major cities in South America, such as Sao Paolo or Buenos Aires. El Dorado’s central location in the region makes it one of the busiest airports in South America in terms of transporting both passengers and cargo. If you are traveling to another destination in Colombia, it is best to fly. While there are good road links, traveling times can be long because of the many mountain passes that need to be navigated.

Cartagena Vacation Rentals in Colombia

Cartagena is one of Colombia’s most popular tourist destinations. It has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site because of its strong cultural traditions, beautiful beaches and diverse range of historic architecture. There are numerous cultural festivals that take place each year that attract many visitors. In the summertime, people flock to the beaches and enjoy the vibrant nightlife that the city is known for. If you enjoy photography and old architecture, you will enjoy the many different architectural styles exhibited in Cartagena. The buildings make excellent photo subjects. It is a city where there is plenty to see and do but you can just as easily spend your days relaxing on the beach and simply watching the passing crowds.
