  • Perfect Location; VERY SAFE

"Francisco and his wife are extremely welcoming and always helped us out when needed. The place was clean when we arrived and we did have an issue with turning on our showers. However, Francisco came after one phone call and help us out. You are given a set of keys to enter the building along with 3 more locks on the doors. We felt very comfortable and safe. The dryer and washer worked perfectly. HIghly recommended."

  • The perfect homebase to explore Quito

"I can't say enough about our stay in Quito at this comfortable and conveniently located apartment. Clemencia was very responsive and helpful throughout the booking process and also when our flight was delayed due to the weather in the Northeast. When we did finally arrive, we were greeted at the airport by Javier, who helped us to get situated in Quito. Especially nice was that he took us to the grocery store and helped us pick up some essentials before arriving at the apartment. It was lovely to be greeted by such a kind and friendly person after our long flight! The apartment provided us with more than enough room for our group of 5. We loved waking up in the morning and sipping our coffee while looking out at the incredible view of Quito and the volcano towering over the city. Bellavista is a great neighborhood, very safe, with everything you need within walking distance. If you want to venture out beyond the immediate neighborhood (and of course you will) it is very easy and affordable to get around Quito using public transportation - there is a stop right at the bottom of the hill. I would also add that we had no problems whatsoever with the water pressure, as another commenter noted. The only suggestion I could give to improve the experience might be to have a folder or notebook with some local suggestions - for example the best and closest restaurants, the nearest pharmacies and grocery stores, the owners favorite sites in Quito, etc... I certainly wouldn't hesitate to stay at Clemencia's apartment again, and I do plan on returning to Quito sooner rather than later. We had a wonderful stay."

  • Close to everything but away from it all

"La Casa de Curia is the absolute perfect homebase for exploring a bit of Ecuador's Ruta del Spondylus. The house is very comfortable and was ideal for our group of 5 (although it could easily accommodate more). It's location high on a hill allows you to take advantage of the refreshing ocean breezes, while being close enough to the beach to hear the crashing waves. And with access to a private and nearly deserted beach just a short walk down the hill, you might not want to leave the property at all. Once you do get motivated to leave, there is much to do and see within a short drive. Montañita's party scene - if that's your thing - is an easy (and cheap) cab ride away. Personally, we preferred the more peaceful vibe on the beach in Olón, where a row of beachfront restaurants serve up delicious fresh seafood and cold beers at unbelievably affordable prices. Don't miss the ceviche de ostra sold from the little cart - it seriously doesn't get any fresher. One of the highlights of the trip was watching local fisherman pull up their catch on the beach while the enormous frigates and pelicans swooped and dove to get their fill of fish. Amazing! But much more amazing than the house and it's incredible location are the people you will meet at Casa de Curia. Don Julio was incredibly helpful to us and I am so glad to have met him. He truly went above and beyond for us, especially when my daughter had a little surfing accident and split her lip. I was so worried that she might need stitches, but Don Julio knew just who to call (it seems he knows everyone and everyone knows him) and she got treatment within half an hour. I cannot thank him enough for his kindness. I would simply add that you can book this house with confidence, knowing that you will be in excellent hands during your stay. We will definitely be back. Thank you Bernardo and Don Julio."

  • Beautiful!

"We stayed in this home for 10 spectacular days. Absolutely incredible location! Waking up and sleeping to the waves each day was magical, calming and hypnotic. Words and pictures cannot possibly describe this gorgeous home and property. The beach, which is literally out the front door, is beyond beautiful, rivaling any beach we’ve been on. The oversized bedroom and the outdoor dining area, facing the ocean, made for a perfect relaxing holiday. The home was beautifully maintained, impeccably decorated, clean and luxurious. After a long drive, we were met promptly by the owners, Bruce and Kim, who gave us a tour of the wonderful property. They were sincerely and genuinely passionate about ensuring that our trip in their home would be nothing but exceptional . Every day Kim would ask us if there was anything we needed or wanted. The home is cleaned daily with laundry and cooking services available by the on-site couple who cook and clean for the owners. We hope to return one day!"
