  • great family vacation

"We stayed at Vicky's house for 5 nights and were very comfortable. Pool was great and our 11 yo son enjoyed it very much. The owner also has table tennis next to the pool. House has washer and dryer, as well as dishwasher. Highly recommend."

  • Very nice way to visit Quito.

"I have learned that renting a vacation rental is usually a great way to stay in any city if your visit is longer than just a day. This particular apartment is spacious, clean, well appointed and the building is well run. My group would happily stay there again. By the way, the view is really nice from the terrace. We would have liked to have a TV in the bedrooms in addition to the one in the master bedroom but that is probably asking too much. Taxis were easy to get and the owner had posted phone numbers to make it easier. Maps of the area showing the near-by grocery stores and restraurants would have been nice. I only mention this as a suggestion. The cleaning fee was a little pricey. The owners were very responsive and accomodating which makes up for the cleaning fee. All in all, we were very happy with our stay."

  • As the Realtor in Edward says, it's "Location,Location,Location."

"If you are looking for the best location in Quito, this is it! I just returned from 7 days in Quito with the last 4 days spent in Edgar's condo. I have rented quite a few condos through VRBO and I look for several qualities in a rental. One is: does the condo have all of the amenities that I want for my stay? Two is: Location..is the location within walking distance of shopping, restaurants, entertainment and public transportation? Three: Is the condo in a safe and secure location? Four: Is the owner easy and accommodating to work with? I must say that it is very seldom that I find a rental that meets all of these qualities in spades as Edgar's condo does; and with the personal attention that you get from Edgar. Edgar helped me find a English speaking driver named Daniel that drove me all around the Quito area and to the Airport for my flight back home. Edgar and I spoke several times during and after my stay and he is as you will find from the people of Ecuador very friendly and helpful. I think I have a new friend. It was also nice that he has a Magic Jack phone in the condo that you can call back to the states at no charge. Thanks for making my stay very pleasant. Ronnie"

  • Close to everything but away from it all

"La Casa de Curia is the absolute perfect homebase for exploring a bit of Ecuador's Ruta del Spondylus. The house is very comfortable and was ideal for our group of 5 (although it could easily accommodate more). It's location high on a hill allows you to take advantage of the refreshing ocean breezes, while being close enough to the beach to hear the crashing waves. And with access to a private and nearly deserted beach just a short walk down the hill, you might not want to leave the property at all. Once you do get motivated to leave, there is much to do and see within a short drive. Montañita's party scene - if that's your thing - is an easy (and cheap) cab ride away. Personally, we preferred the more peaceful vibe on the beach in Olón, where a row of beachfront restaurants serve up delicious fresh seafood and cold beers at unbelievably affordable prices. Don't miss the ceviche de ostra sold from the little cart - it seriously doesn't get any fresher. One of the highlights of the trip was watching local fisherman pull up their catch on the beach while the enormous frigates and pelicans swooped and dove to get their fill of fish. Amazing! But much more amazing than the house and it's incredible location are the people you will meet at Casa de Curia. Don Julio was incredibly helpful to us and I am so glad to have met him. He truly went above and beyond for us, especially when my daughter had a little surfing accident and split her lip. I was so worried that she might need stitches, but Don Julio knew just who to call (it seems he knows everyone and everyone knows him) and she got treatment within half an hour. I cannot thank him enough for his kindness. I would simply add that you can book this house with confidence, knowing that you will be in excellent hands during your stay. We will definitely be back. Thank you Bernardo and Don Julio."
