  • Relaxing holidays with the kids at its best

"We were two adults and two kids (7 and 3) and can only recommend a stay here. We all enjoyed the pool, the barbecue, ride the hourses, the playground, the stylish house, the views over the vast countryside down to the Laguna del Garzon and last but not least the kind support from the owner as well as the employees, making our stay unforgettable. Excellent to jog in the morning, do a kite course in the nearby Laguna, absolutely safe and still peacefully located 3.5 km from the beach. We didn't use the guests house, but visited it and it was in the same perfect condition as the main house, so also good for two families. easy to find with the owners description. don't miss to visit the Isla de Lobos once you are in Punta del Este, boats leaving from the port and you end up swimming with the Sea Lions!! unforgettable holidays, we will come back for sure!! Andrea, Daniele, Gemma & Shoshana"

  • Wonderful holiday!

"My husband and I stayed in the main house for 11 days in February 2015. We have always dreamed of staying in a house on the beach and this fit the bill perfectly. We had a wonderful, relaxing holiday and wish we could have stayed longer! The house is extremely comfortable with spectacular views. It is well furnished and had everything we needed for the vacation. The beach, a short walk away, is absolutely gorgeous. You can walk miles in one direction and see very few people or you can walk in the other direction to La Huela (the best restaurant in the village of Jose Ignacio-an approximately 20 minute walk). We quickly fell into a routine of reading, walking and eating at the many delicious restaurants in the area. Ignacio was great to work with. He was very responsive and provided us with all of the information we needed to ensure a great holiday. Our only frustration was the internet service, which worked inconsistently. I suspect that this could have been fixed, but Ignacio was in Indonesia when we were there and thus unavailable to assist us. I am sure had we bothered him about it, he would have arranged to have someone come and fix it. We highly recommend the house and would love to return ourselves"

Uruguay Travel Tips

Things to Do at Uruguay Vacation Rentals

For a great cultural experience, visit the Tristan Navarja Market in Montevideo. The market is only open on a Sunday but covers several city blocks. The stalls sell everything from food to jewelry as well as a wide variety of other handcrafts. If you visit during the month of February, you can join in the vibrant Afro Uruguayan festival where you'll see people dancing and drumming in the streets. Football is a big part of the local culture and watching a game at the Museo de Futbal in Montevideo makes for a great time. The coastal resort town of Punta Del Este is a vibrant summer vacation destination. There are casinos and restaurants providing evening entertainment. During the day, you can relax on the beach or enjoy water sports in the surf. A traditional tourist activity is to go on a horseback riding excursion. Typically, this ends with an outdoor barbecue where you can experience a typical gaucho lifestyle. The coastal lagoons are a haven for wildlife and birds. Nature lovers can enjoy exploring these areas with a professional tour guide or go birdwatching on their own.

Best Time of Year to Visit Uruguay Condos

Uruguay experiences a generally temperate climate. Because of its location in the southern hemisphere, summer runs from November to April and winter is from June to September. Summers are typically hot with the occasional rain showers. Winter months can get very cold in parts of the region. Because most of Uruguay is mostly flat floodplains, the country is prone to dramatic temperature changes. Visitors should have a jacket with them at all times so if it does suddenly get colder, they are at least adequately equipped. The main travel season is during the summer months.

Visitors to Uruguay Beach Houses

Uruguay is a country with a rich cultural heritage and that is what attracts many visitors to its shores. Art, music, theater and the performing arts are as much a part of the culture as the food and language. Dining out at any of the local restaurants is a treat. It is not a destination for vegetarians as most of the menus contain primarily meat dishes but meat lovers will be in heaven. Traditional restaurants prepare beef on skewers cooked on an open fire and large delicious steaks. The Uruguayan coastline has many beautiful beaches and the long summer days are ideal for catching a tan and enjoying a variety of beach and surf sports.

Traveling to Uruguay

Uruguay is a relatively small country located in South America. It is bordered by Brazil to the north and Argentina to the west. The capital city of Montevideo is located on the southern coastline on a similar latitude to Buenos Aires. The international airport is located 13 miles from the Montevideo city center near the resort area of Carrasco. The national carrier provides flights to other major South American cities, such as Buenos Aires and Sao Paolo. There are not many international flights to other continents.

Travelers from North America should look into the direct flights that operate from Miami. For European travelers, you can get a direct flight from Madrid. Most times though international travelers will need to route via either Sao Paolo or Buenos Aires before getting a regional flight on to Montevideo. Another way to get to Montevideo from Buenos Aires is to take the hydrofoil that operates between the two cities. It's not recommended to hire a car to get around as traffic can be chaotic in the major cities. Rather make use of taxis or arrange private transfers with a local tour company.
