  • Beautiful vacation home and location

"I enjoyed staying at villa blue with my friends for the holidays. The location was excellent! We were in walking distance from Palm Cove beach and a short drive from Cairns. We enjoyed the space, bbq and bikes. It was great having a kitchen, as eating out in Australia was quite expensive. The washer and dryer came in handy as well! The owners provided directions for use of appliances and even information about the local area!!! The listing description was accurate except for the size of the pool. The picture makes it look a lot larger. The property was clean and well maintained. I would definitely return to Villa Blue again and highly recommend it to others!!!"

  • Every American's dream getaway

"In July 2012 I came to visit. It was the first time I had travelled out of the USA - I was so excited. My boyfriend chose this apartment wisely. It definitely exceeded our expectations. There was nothing missing, everything works perfectly, the fixtures and fittings are fantastic (I especially loved the turtle picture). Even the linen is beautiful. The pool was lovely for an evening swim. We snorkeled the Barrier Reef - my family still can't believe I did this!! The crocodile farm a little up the highway was amazing...incredible to see them in real life. Another highlight was a day trip Port Douglas - where we had a fabulous dining experience at Salsa Bar & Grill. 4 days not really enough - I wish we could have explored more of the restaurants along the Palm Cove strip (NuNu was the most memorable). Amazing part of the world. Sometimes weird...the folks over there drive on the opposite side of the road :)"

  • A great place to stay

"As good as the photos of this unit look on your monitor, the views in person, looking out at the harbor and sea, are spectacular. This unit has great views of the water from every room in the property. The photos are accurate but they can not convey how magical this place is. The harbor, with boats coming and going, is always interesting to watch. The point, with surfers and stand up paddlers is fun to watch from the condo, and is only a short stroll away. On the first days of our arrival there were 4 meter waves with surfers putting on a show at the point. The beach is beautiful and is great for walking on either the sand or the sidewalk and boardwalk that runs along the beach. The unit has everything you need for a good stay, and there is a shopping center less than 5 minutes away that has everything you might need to buy. The shopping center, Kawana Shoppingworld, is much larger than it appears from the street. It will have anything you might need. The kitchen is good for cooking, great views again, and my wife says the amenities were lovely. There is a convenience store and fish and chips stand within walking distance (a few blocks), and also a nice cafe for breakfast and lunch. Here is tip: Wireless service and good connectivity to the internet was a problem for us, but there is an easy fix. The public library is just down the street. Nice library, nice librarians, and free wi-fi with good reception and connectivity and also desktops you can use. If you're going to Australia from the USA, fly to Brisbane, rent a car, and drive an hour to Point Cartwright. Spend a week adjusting to Australian time in the best place in the world to recover from jet lag. We give this unit and Buddina our highest recommendation. I would like to return here. My wife would like to live here permanently. That gives you an idea of how much we liked it. Nice people to rent from too. They took care of all of the details. Thank you."

  • Highly Recommend

"We had a wonderful stay (July 2013). The location is excellent, right across the street from a quiet beach; this was really one of the best features of the house. We mostly had the beach to ourselves although plenty of people walked or jogged by because it's on a beautiful stretch leading up to Palm Cove. It was also a central location for many other activities; 35 minutes from Port Douglas, 20 minutes from Cairns. The inside was very nice; two rooms with a king bed in one and queen in the other and one room with 2 bunk beds (sleeps 4 and was good for the kids). It was plenty big enough for us; we ate breakfast there most mornings unless we were out early on an excursion. The kitchen is not large but fine and had good appliances. Nice sofas and a large screen TV. There was also a dryer which we used most days. The pool was a bit smaller than it looked in the picture but that's fine when you have the beach 30 feet from your front door. It was a quiet neighborhood and we felt safe. It has a small town type feel. We highly recommend the house and have done that with our friends who said they're interested in visiting the Great Barrier Reef."
