"Our 10-day stay was better than imaged. We were picked up at the ferry, taken to local supermarket and then on the Motu Tamae, speaking English and given local information by the beautiful Joscelyn all the way. Entering the property was breathtaking. It is truly Polynesia.. A bountiful platter of fruit on the table, the sounds of the sea outside, and the shade of the coconut palms, the eye-catching art all around had us smiling with the knowledge we had chosen the right place. Other reviewers have stated many of the features I would highlight. No need for me. Even if everything wasn't as great has written, Joscelyn and Alain are. They are the reason you should come."

"We were looking for an alternative to one of the hotels where you are encouraged to stay on the premises. Staying at Villa Vahimanui with the use of a car allowed us to easily explore the island and the surrounding waters. Pierre is extremely responsive and provides all the materials for you to choose activities and dining experiences. Working with him was easy and a joy. The other reviewers have spoken extensively about the apartment and are all their comments are true. Watching the sunset over the lagoon was magical. One of the nicest surprises was the caretakers Nathalie and Barthélémy. They were wonderful to speak with and most helpful. Our favorite lunch spot was Restaurant Matira Beach, right on the water overlooking the reef with delicious sushi. We rented a boat from La Plage Boat Rental and had a perfect day exploring the lagoon. I would highly recommend this alternative to how most people stay on Bora Bora."

"This place is awesome, with a cool tropical design that's a cross between traditional Polynesian and whimsical island treehouse. Awesome beds, linens, and spotlessly clean. The location is great, use the kayaks to go out to the nearby motu to snorkel on the reef. We rented a car and the reef just here was as good or better than any other snorkeling spot we found. The other best spot is the beach near the airport, by the way. Pick up some fresh tuna from the guy down the road with the sign (1000 CFP/kilo) and a some wine and you will find yourself never wanting to leave Moorea. Highly recommended."

"Staying at the Villas Bougainville was a treat beyond adequate description. Raphael Matapo and his staff could not have been more welcoming, helpful and generous. The villa we were in is charmingly decorated and very, very clean. We could walk right out in the yard and pick coconuts, mangos, lime, papaya and much more. We had plenty of privacy but Raphael and his staff were available if we had a question.
The car and boat really enhanced our stay. We had the freedom to explore the bay and the island and return to places we really liked.
The town of Fare has shops, markets and a super market where we found everything we needed. The people are so friendly. Huahine Nautique offers a wealth of information and activities. We especially enjoyed the picnic boat tour. The owner, Marc, also has a very good restaurant/bar in town where you can sit and watch fishing boats come in.
The best part about the island of Huahine, for us, is that it is not heavily touristed and commercial. It is a lush paradise with beautiful, friendly people. We look forward to going back again soon."
