  • Best Location on the island!

"Staying here was far better than any resort experience could have been and it was only a fraction of the cost of the Sofitel, just a short walk down the beach from here. The location was great - an easy bike ride into Maharepa and Tamara helped us arrange pick-up service for a rental car, dinner and back to the ferry. She was a gracious, friendly and helpful hostess. The beach bungalow was perfect with amazing views and everything we needed to cook simple meals. The guest lounging areas are so beautiful and comfortable and a walk out of the front gate puts you directly into the water. We enjoyed using the provided snorkeling gear and kayaks everyday. We could not have imagined anything more perfect than the accommodations here and the helpfulness of the owner."

  • PARADISE!

"What can be said about Moorea that has not already been said in previous reviews! The beauty of the island is staggering from the clear turquoise ocean to the sandy beach to the dramatic rise of the mountains, and sooo green! My husband and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary here by swimming with dolphins. We also took a boat trip and swam with sting rays and black tip shark. The house and landscaping were beyond beautiful. Tiare who took our reservation and was our contact person was wonderful - so helpful. And Fifi who kept the house sparkling clean was precious. She made amazing flower arrangements (one in every room including bathrooms) with flowers cut from the garden. This is the most beautiful island we have been to, we were there for 16 days (all spent at the house) and could have stayed longer with no problem. We hope to return."

  • Enjoy the beauty and slow pace of Huahine

"Staying at the Villas Bougainville was a treat beyond adequate description. Raphael Matapo and his staff could not have been more welcoming, helpful and generous. The villa we were in is charmingly decorated and very, very clean. We could walk right out in the yard and pick coconuts, mangos, lime, papaya and much more. We had plenty of privacy but Raphael and his staff were available if we had a question. The car and boat really enhanced our stay. We had the freedom to explore the bay and the island and return to places we really liked. The town of Fare has shops, markets and a super market where we found everything we needed. The people are so friendly. Huahine Nautique offers a wealth of information and activities. We especially enjoyed the picnic boat tour. The owner, Marc, also has a very good restaurant/bar in town where you can sit and watch fishing boats come in. The best part about the island of Huahine, for us, is that it is not heavily touristed and commercial. It is a lush paradise with beautiful, friendly people. We look forward to going back again soon."

  • The most unique, fun place to stay ever! The trip of a lifetime!!!

"We have always dreamed of a trip to Bora Bora, and envisioned ourselves staying in an over the water bungalow. But after doing extensive research, we decided that we wanted an experience more authentic and private. The over water bungalows look great in pictures, but in reality they are right next to each other and you have very little privacy. We found Villa Ahuna and I knew instantly that this was where we wanted to stay for our dream trip. I booked the property for 9 nights. We were a bit nervous since we had never been to Bora Bora, and we weren't sure of logistics, the location, etc. We are both boaters and sailors, so the thought of having a small boat as our primary transportation for vacation was very exciting to us. All of our communications with Tea, the owner, were gracious, and any questions we had prior to our arrival were answered promptly. We were greeted at the airport on arrival by A young woman named Bellen, and a boat driver named Tuma. Bellen was a pleasure to meet, and she gave us our initial introduction to Bora Bora, and a quick tour of the area by boat, pointing out restaurants, markets, places to dock our boat, etc. We arrived at the Villa, and Bellen gave us an extensive briefing on the property. Pictures don't really do this property justice - it is huge, and there are several gazebos, docks, beaches, tables, eating areas spread around it. The main living area is very large as well. There is a huge kitchen/bar area with seating around the kitchen. There is a stove, refrigerator, sink and a full supply of cooking utensils. The living room area is also very large, with 2 couches and 2 loveseats/chairs. There is beautiful artwork all around, shells, carvings, and other island art. The property came with it's own cat, Mitzi, that was the sweetest, friendliest cat I have ever encountered. The sleeping accommodations are in 2 bungalows that I think came from the Old Bora Bora Hotel that was destroyed in a storm. Each has a lovely king size bed and bathroom. Although there is no air conditioning, there are fans provided, and we had no problems sleeping. One of the most memorable things is waking up at sunrise and hearing the waves breaking on the reef just outside the door. We fed the fish from the dock, and there was a small octopus that lived by the dock that ate every morning. The small boat provided was adequate for trips to Vaitape for shopping as well as circling the island. If you crave adventure this is the place for you!"
