Overview of Auckland Vacation Rentals

Traveling to Auckland Vacation Rentals

Auckland is the main travel hub for New Zealand and the South Pacific. The international and domestic airports are located in Manukau City which is a 45-minute drive from Auckland’s city center. The international airport hosts daily scheduled flights from most major airlines. The majority of flights arrive from Australia, the Far East and South America. Several North American and European airlines have code share agreements so they can provide their clients cost-effective flights on these routings even though they don’t physically operate on them. The airports are efficiently run. Tourism ambassadors man information desks to assist visitors on arrival. Shuttle services and taxis provide transport from the airport into town.

Options for Auckland Lodging

Auckland is a travel destination where there is much to see and do. Most likely you will spend your days out sightseeing. It nice at the end of the day to have a comfortable private lounge to relax in rather than having to endure a busy hotel lobby. Vacation rentals are also an affordable way to stay a little longer in Auckland. Select from a range of stylish single or multi-bedroom apartments, many of which have superb sea views. The majority of apartments are newly built, fitted with modern appliances and stylishly furnished. Characteristically, they have large open plan kitchens and spacious living areas. Some homes have private swimming pools, sundecks and barbecue areas. Choose from a downtown location to be right in the hub of things or find a cozy spot on a secluded beach in the suburbs.

Adrenalin junkies can venture on a bungi jump from Aukland Harbour Bridge or base jump from the Sky Tower. The Sky Tower is the tallest building in the southern hemisphere. The skyjump involves a 192-meter cable-controlled base jump that is certain to get the adrenalin pumping. For those that prefer a more sedate way of exploring the city sights, you can do a skywalk around the outside of the tower or remain indoors and simply see the views through the windows. The Harbour Bridge offers spectacular views of the city and if you’re energetic, you can climb up and over it.

For those that love the underwater world, make sure you visit Kelly Tarlton’s Antarctic Encounter and Underwater World. You can walk through an underwater glass tunnel and view the marine life as they swim overhead. If you are brave, you can dive or swim with stingrays and shark.

The Auckland War Memorial Museum has among its exhibits the world’s largest collection of Maori treasures, known as taonga. You can also see performance of Maori songs and dances.
