  • Stunning views

    "Incredible view from the balcony/living area. Really spacious. Cottage a bit dated so it's got that musty smell. Contact tel. numbers not working so we had some anxious moments a few days leading up to the rental date but everything turned out as promised. E-mail messages were promptly addressed. Bottom line - we'll go back again if the opportunity arises. Can't beat the views, the space and the privacy it offers."

  • Home away from Home

    "Twice we have been to the City Road apartments and enjoyed our stay immensely. It is nice staying centrally in Melbourne for special occasions and sporting events, without the long drives associated with traversing Melbourne. Close to Crown, Tram Car Restaurant, Regent Theatre, Kino Cinema, Exhibition Centre, Etihad Stadium and some of the most talked about restaurants in Australia along the Southbank. If you are a fitness freak there is a lap pool and a well-appointed gym; and why not strolls to the MCG or the Tennis Centre; or a tram ride to the Aquatic Centre – in Albert Park, that nestles up against the Albert Park Lake Grand Prix circuit. In fact with the great views, and comfortable apartment, leaving is the only hard thing to do at this City Road, address. And if you are there for a week there is a Food Works supermarket a right turn at the front of the building; just over [under] Kings Way; and for a full shop, there is a Coles Supermarket, left along Clarendon Street, or a right turn out of the car-park. Along Clarendon Street there are also many ethnic restaurants, including Thai and Indian, and further into the suburb, is the second most famous fresh food market in Melbourne – the South Melbourne Market, off York along Clarendon. This area is a pleasant relaxed gateway onto Melbourne’s beaches; such as St Kilda, Brighton and Sandringham, or further afield to Frankston and Portsea. Or if you need to head west, instead, the road you view from the 40th floor is Westgate Freeway, the gateway to the west. Enjoy your stay, we did."

  • Honeymoon in Paradise

    "We stayed for a week at Tamara's property for the first week of our honeymoon and can't wait to get back there! The pictures barely do the property justice....it honestly is the best snorkeling spot on the entire island! The location is ideal, as it is quiet and secluded yet close enough to shops and another resort. Tamara was an amazing host and made us feel like we were part of her family. The bungalows have everything you need for your island get-away. I suggest stopping by roadside stands for fruit and fish- it will save you money and is of wonderful quality. Make sure you bring enough sunscreen, as it is very expensive on the islands! Thank you, Tamara, for making our honeymoon a trip we'll never forget!"

  • perfect location for visiting melbourne

    "we prefer not to stay in large cities and this location was perfect for visiting Melbourne, beaches and surrounding areas, just a 15 min tram ride into the city - - - the tram departure point was just around the corner from the cottage. This is a beautifully renovated property in a cute residential section of Albert Park. Lots of restaurants, shops and even a market within easy walking distance. We were 2 couples visiting for 8 nights to attend the President's Cup and Sweeney Cottage worked out perfect for us. The cottage is very nicely appointed and had everything we needed - - the kitchen was well equipped (all the plates, etc. actually matched and were arranged neatly on the open shelves)- we ate in all but 1 night, even putting some shrimp on the barbie one night. This was a welcome respite at the end of each day following the golfers around the course. The beds were comfy, the bathrooms modern - - - everything was spotless. The owner was more than helpful - - - He actually helped us with our entire itinerary for a month-long trip to Australia. His suggestions were invaluable to say the least. We would definitely stay here again on a return trip and would recommend this cottage to anyone visiting the area."
