  • "This is an immaculate and beautiful house. A great place to relax and enjoy the beautiful island. The first week was a culture shock, the second week just starting to relax, then the third week we were ready to buy land and move here. You will never forget your experience here."

  • Great place to stay in Melbourne

"I stayed in this quiet, clean, comfortable downstairs apartment for the length of the Australian Open (I was there writing about the tournament). The place is very well kept, with a very comfortable bed and a recently renovated bathroom with an excellent shower. The owners and hosts, who live upstairs, are the best part of this accommodation. They are wonderful people and go out of their way to make their guests comfortable and happy. Just an example: In my stay there, I had some trouble with their pay-as-you-go internet device, which wasn't working on my computer; I badly needed good internet access to keep in touch with the office and to download work documents. So one of the hosts ventured out in the middle of a heat wave (110 degrees F.) and purchased a newer, wireless model that worked incredibly well and made my life so much easier. They are also great guides to Melbourne and its transportation system. The apartment is a short walk to a train station that brings you downtown in minutes, with transfers to everyone else in the city. There are also plenty of coffee shops/restaurants, and Victoria Market, within a short walk. I highly recommend this residence and especially the hosts. They really care about their guests."

  • Huahine, the unspoiled island

"So glad to see Villas Bougainville on VRBO. This is the greatest bargain ! Huahine is not developed . It is clean as crews clean . The Villas are spotless. We had fresh lemon and coconut right from the garden. The market is very inexpensive. Tuna steaks for about $5.00/ pound. Fresh fruits. The grocery store has just about everything and prices are not that bad. Cheese from New Zealand is inexpensive and the meat is good. Some tips for the boat. There are many rays by the Te Tiare between the dark and light water. We went slowly and finally figured out we were scaring them away so we went more quickly. Then we saw tons of rays. On the way to town in the boat, we saw many many spinner dolphins. With the car, we liked the beaches at Relais Mahana and LaPita. On Friday night, the Snack Temarara in Fare has poisson brochette (fish kabobs) for $2.50 each. Have French fries, cheesy potatoes or rice. Yum! Happy hour at the Temarara every night but Sunday from 5-6 and at LaPita 5:30-6:30 Thurs, Fri and Sat. Raphael , the owner, is so nice! Having a car and a boat increased our opportunities to do what we want , when we want and as long as we wanted to do the activity. There are many activities to choose from and Raphael has information on what is available. There is also a visitor's bureau downtown with good information. Restaurants close around 2:00 PM and do not open until around 6 PM. Temarara ha paninis, however, after 2:00 PM until 6? The long French bread is 53 cents a loaf. I am so glad we discovered Huahine and the Villas Bougainville!!!!!"

  • Oak Hill Gang

"Our group of eight (four couples) were warmly greeted by Ann after a beautiful welcome drive down the high green hedge lined path leading to a home I can only describe as an idyllic paradise! We pulled up to a home whose porch was surrounded by beautiful flowers while to our left was a tree covered area with a koi pond and a trellis that called us to see the other side of this gorgeous "secret garden". The grounds of several acres is well landscaped with numerous fruit trees. We enjoyed sitting on the back porch and taking in the surrounding beauty. Whether one looked out from the spacious kitchen, or from each of the four Bedrooms windows, we knew we would treasure this experience forever. Accommodations: Excellent. (Bed, linens). View: Excellent. Location: Excellent- country/quiet yet close to sightseeing & activities. Recommend:Highly."
