  • Bay House Beauty

"My cousins and I rented this home for our stay during our family reunion weekend. It was perfect. We wanted to get away from the crowd at the beach and just relax. Perfect! We sat on the pier late into the night fishing and crabbing. We had beautiful sunsets, my other cousins visited by boat. The accomodations were perfect for three couples. We each had our own bathrooms and privacy, yet a large communal space was available as well. We look forward to returning to this beautiful, restful place of beauty."

  • Happy Anniversary Equals Happy Times and Memories

"We rented "Happy Anniversary" for the two months of February and March. Ruth's place on Mobile Bay was the best time we've had when we go each year to the Fairhope area as snowbirds. The view of mobile Bay is spectactular. The place is very clean and everything works, and is stocked to accomodate several people for a short or long visit. Our visitors were absolutely blown away by the house, the view, and the area. Best vacation ever!"

  • Wonderful Vacation Rental in a Lovely Town

"We have rented this lovely home for three years now and have already renewed for next year. The house has a great layout with the master suite on one side of the living/dining room and the guest wing on the other. The kitchen and laundry appliances are all up to date. The large garage makes a protected entry on rainy days, and the enclosed patio is a lovely spot on sunny ones. The furnishings give the feel of someone's home, not a hotel, and add to the warmth and comfort. The neighborhood is quiet and level, ideal for walking, and close to a large variety of grocery, drug and discount stores. Fairhope has a public beach and park on Mobile Bay two miles away, and many activities throughout the year."

  • Our Week at Kate's Place

"We were going to Fairhope to look for a house, and needed some place to stay while we looked. I rented this house from vrbo as I have had three rentals myself listed on this site. The house is just off Scenic Hwy 98 which is a beautiful drive along Mobile Bay. The owner of the property, Mike, is very nice and accommodating. He makes a good "inn keeper". The grounds are spectacular, mature oaks and magnolias trees, flowering shrubs, etc. The house is large enough for a big group, 4 bedrooms, 3 baths. The short walk down past Mike's house to the pier takes just couple minutes and the owner allows his guests to use the pier and his crab traps. We caught cat fish, croaker and blue crab. This property is pretty much for adults and is not set up for persons with disabilities due to all the stairs. The kitchen has what you need. Also washer/dryer are a plus. Plenty of parking out the back door-also a patio with table/chairs for 4. Zoned Heat/AC was nice (thermostat for each floor). House is clean, grounds are neat. Damage deposit was refunded promptly. On the other side, we felt the beds (we tried them all), were a bit hard and squeaky. Bathrooms are tiny but serviceable. We could have used a second set of towels so we wouldn't have to wash just two towels in that large washer. There were console tables and corner tables and odd chests sitting around but we didn't find a chest of drawers or dresser in any bedroom for your clothes. Updated paint colors and updated furniture would make the whole place seem more attractive with a "beachy" feel. Certainly updated look would fit right in with the house and many of the other rentals along Scenic 98. We had a bad storm on Sat. afternoon and were without electricity for hours. There was one little flashlight over the dryer. I suggest the handheld lanterns from HD or Lowe's for each floor so guests can see. We used our cell phones to locate a restaurant with electricity and went there for couple hours till power came back. Kate's Place is probably 10 min. from downtown Fairhope. There are two good restaurants just down Scenic Hwy 98. Biloxi is about 1 1/2 hours. Mobile, Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, Weeks Bay, etc. are all close by. This is a handy spot from which to see south Alabama."
