  • We had a great time!

"We shared the smaller of the two houses, "Little Blue" with another family. It was spotlessly cleaned when we arrived, which is huge deal to us. Beds were very comfortable, even though the bedrooms were a touch on the small side. We were close friends with the couple staying in the other main bedroom so we dealt with it, but the bath is shared, so be aware of that. There is a full bathroom upstairs in the main living area, and that is where we got ready each day instead of the bathroom on the middle floor- no big deal! The kids slept in the bunk room (which has a shower in the bathroom) and on the sofa pull-out. The pool- EXCELLENT! It was roomy and well designed. The kids swam for hours each day and evening, and we never had any trouble sharing with the nice renters in the larger house, "Big Blue." The pool and hot tub were clean, and serviced by the pool company while we were there. If you are "pool people" you will love this house. Bring bug spray.... it's Florida, with lots of dune vegetation all around. The beach access was as described- you have to walk down the road a little ways to get to the dune cross over. We are fit and able to walk/carry things, but it may be an issue if you have someone who has trouble walking up stairs. Kiva Dunes itself is a clean, well-managed resort neighborhood, and they offer a shuttle to the beach access points. You do get some view of the ocean from the decks of the house, but as mentioned, the large dune right in front of the house blocks the direct view. The only suggestions we would make would be to add a few chairs to the main living area. We had plenty of sleeping space, but very little sitting space. There was one small sofa, and one small upholstered chair. You can sit in the dining area or kitchen bar, but those kinds of chairs aren't comfortable for sitting around and visiting. Also, the adirondack chairs on the deck are all cracked and splitting, making it perilous to sit in shorts! With a small main living area, we wanted to sit on the deck a lot, but the chairs were in poor condition. Minor issue that could be easily fixed. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, and the area is uncrowded. We cooked most of our meals, and didn't mind driving 20 minutes to Gulf Shores for the two dinners when we did dine out- Lulu's and The Gulf.... both yummy! It was a slightly tight fit for two families, but it's fine if you like each other, and the price was VERY reasonable."

  • Family vacation

"We enjoyed our stay at Lotsa Sand very much. It was as described, we had family fun on the beach which had fine white sand; my grandson loved playing in the sand and the family enjoyed the clear water once the storm cleared. Thank you for the use of your lovely home. Only problem was the fridge kept dripping water, which we reported to Reed Realty. Was great having a washer and dryer with two little ones. Great place to stay for a beach holiday.Only downer of our vacation was hiring a beach photographer. Watch who you hire for beach photos; we hired Jay Melton Photography. Did a good job on the photos, and we prepaid to have photos made, but as of Febr. 2014 we still have not received our photos and they will not return calls or emails. I would advise removing them from the book."

"My wife and I just finished a 3 month snowbird stay at the Condo. This was our first stay at this condo. From day #1 we found this to be a beautiful and peaceful location. The condo has wonderful views of both the Gulf and Mobile Bay. The location and size of the condo provides guests with a peaceful and intimate setting along with accessibility to downtown Gulf Shores and Dauphin Island. The condo is also located just steps from the beach and offers a great location for limitless activities and day trips. This two bedroom unit has an excellent floor plan with lots of comfortable living space and a very large outside balcony for relaxing and sunbathing. The unit is fully furnished - including washer and dryer, maintained in turn-key condition, and very tastefully decorated. This is the kind of unit you hope to find when you go on vacation - it is just perfect! The condo unit itself has an elevator, outdoor pool/indoor pool, whirlpool spa, small fitness facility, grills, picnic tables and other amenities. Owner, Jennifer, is just wonderful to rent from!! She takes great pride in her condo unit and it shows throughout. Jennifer is truly interested in making your stay a memorable experience and can provide guests with lots of info on the area, restaurants and activities if they so desire. We have already booked our return stay for next winter and will be spending 4 months as Snowbirds in Dunes #201! Thank you Jennifer for making us feel so welcome and cared for!!"

Fort Morgan Travel Tips

Fort Morgan Beach Rentals for a Great Alabama Vacation

If you have not already heard of Fort Morgan, Alabama, now is the time to listen up! It is a small, unincorporated community in Baldwin County and quickly growing to be one of the best family vacation destinations in the region. It sits just west of Gulf Shores on Mobile Point. When vacationing in Fort Morgan, you will experience the magic of Alabama’s Gulf Coast. From the moment you arrive, the real world will seemingly melt away and you will take in the sun, surf, and so much fun with the family. The area offers the perfect balance of non-stop activities for those days where you simply do not want to lay around and do nothing on the gorgeous beaches.

Who Visits Fort Morgan?

Fort Morgan condos are really meant for anyone looking for a wonderful vacation getaway. The destination is perfect for the entire family or a romantic escape with the one you love the most. In fact, Fort Morgan is even a popular destination for corporate retreats and conventions! No matter your reason for visiting, Fort Morgan has something for you. It is a magical place where you can simply slow down and forget the worries of life, let loose and have a good time, or rediscover yourself and loved ones. The magic of the Alabama Gulf Coast will definitely cast its spell on whoever visits.

Accommodation Choices in the Area

When it comes to booking accommodations in Fort Morgan, you have the world at your fingertips! The region offers a variety of hotel and motel options as well as some really luxurious resorts. However, for many visitors, Fort Morgan vacation rentals are a much better fit than the hotels. The vast selection of beach houses along the coast make the entire vacation seem more like you're at a home away from home which always allows for more relaxation and fun. When you book Fort Morgan beach rentals instead of a hotel, you get the freedom to control your vacation the way you want. You can even make your own meals, do your laundry comfortably on an extended stay, and just hang out at the beach house if you feel like doing nothing else. The possibilities are endless.

The Weather and When to Visit

Because Fort Morgan and its surrounding areas lie in the southern subtropical region of North America, the temperatures are fairly mild all year round. That means that the gentle gulf breezes and relaxed atmosphere greet visitors anytime of year for that perfect getaway. The breeze off the water in the summer makes the season bearable for those that do not love the summer heat while the spring and fall days are warm and comfortable with cooler evenings. The winter months, though not cold, are still chilly and not quite suitable for outdoor beach fun.

Water, Fun, and the Sun--What to Do in Fort Morgan

Though the community itself is quiet and laid-back, that does not mean there are not plenty of things to do! The sugary white sands and warm Gulf waters are completely inviting for anyone that wants to have fun in the sun or just laze about on the beach. That is why most of the activities in the area have to do with the beach and water.

One thing you will want to do during your stay is check out The Wharf. Though it has not been around for very long, it is well worth a visit. With plenty of shopping, eating, and recreational activities like the huge public pool, zip line, and three-deck rope trail, The Wharf is definitely a way to spend a fun day. If you and the kids are looking for a change of pace from the beach, Waterville, USA is your best bet. It is a water park near Gulf Shores vacation rentals and the largest and most popular of its kind in the area. Insanely high slides, multi-person tubes, and river and wave pools make for a really fun family day. Of course, you can always play it safe and stick to the normal beach activities of sunbathing, swimming, waterskiing, kayaking, parasailing, and jet skiing.
