"We had a great family vacation at Papa Doc's!!!!! There were 13 of us and this house was perfect for everyone!!!! The kids loved the upstairs den to watch tv and play their video games. The large table was great for all of us to be able to eat together!!! It felt like "home" the minute we got there. It was also very clean when we arrived. This was our 3rd year at Ft Morgan and this was our favorite house yet!!! We will definitely be back!!!!!"

"We had four families with ages ranging from 65 to 8. Everyone had a fantastic vacation! The Fort Morgan area is quiet and less traveled than the nearby Gulf Shores/Orange Beach area. The beach is right outside your door. Clean white sand. Not crowded at all. Viewed dolphins daily. Kids enjoyed ghost crab hunts at night. Neighbors were fishing daily and catching very interesting wild life. The house is on pilings so you will have stairs to climb. All the bedrooms are nicely appointed. Two bedrooms upstairs do not have tvs. If you're a bedtime tv watcher bring your laptop and take advantage of the free wifi. With a house this large I think it could use another full bathroom although we managed okay. The neighborhood is not resort like, which we enjoyed. You feel as if it's your beach house and these are your neighbors. We never used the pools or tennis courts except to walk around on a stroll of the neighborhood. The house is starting to show it's time for some seasonal repairs in upstairs bathroom and to the outside deck and siding. Nothing a good cleaning and paint job won't cure. Sassy Bass restaurant (1 mile away) serves an amazing Maui dinner, chicken sandwich and "to die for"chocolate cake! The Pines and Behind the Pines are super convenient stops too. Back in on 59 do yourself a favor and try Papa Rocco's.... Delicious pizzas! The Pink Pony was fun and yummy for a lunch with a gulf view. The Oyster House wasn't as good as the hype during our experience. Mrs Mathews is easily contacted and readily available. She is amazing! We will definitely rent from her again."

"This house was a great fit for our extended family of 8. We really loved being right on the beach. The private boardwalk, outdoor shower and deck made it easy for all to enjoy the beach. The house is very nicely decorated and comfortable. The upstairs washer and dryer made laundry easy. The neighborhood pools were both very nice as well.
The owner checked on us during our stay, which was very nice.
This is our first trip to the Gulf Shores area and I would definitely recommend the Fort Morgan area. The beach is deep, clean and not crowded."

"My wife and I haven't been on vacation in 5 years and we just so happened to luck up with FlemingO. We also took our 3 year old for his first time and he loved it. The house was immaculate and decorated nicely. We had everything we needed there. We loved sitting on the porch and up top on the private balcony looking at the stars. I haven't seen anyone else mention this, so I will...Bring some type of mosquito repellant and anything with citronelle in it, cause you WILL need it. They are pretty bad at night. As other reviews stated, it is a few minutes away from all the attractions and things , but we preferred that. Especially if you like wildlife. For those who really want to get up close and personal with nature, The Bon Secour Wildlife Refuge is also on Fort Morgan Road. If you like hiking, wildlife, and nature, I highly recommend trying the Pine Beach Trail out. There's no telling what you might come across out there. There are 2 really good places we liked to eat on Fort Morgan Road...The Pines Bar and Grill is a neat little hidden place behind The Pines Grocery store. Good food and good specials for lunch. The other place is Tacky Jacks at almost the end of Fort Morgan Road, next to the Fort itself. Really good seafood and a view if you sit outside. It overlooks the dock and the bay where fishing boats come in with their catches. Really cool place to eat and visit. Also, if you like to cook, there is a Fresh Seafood Market next to the Dollar General on Fort Morgan Road, that has excellent fresh seafood. They also make homemade crab cakes that are out of this world. We visited there at least 3 times during the trip. Blalocks Seafood Market is also another good place, located back in town that has excellent fresh seafood. The neighborhood was very safe, quiet, and family oriented. We could not have been more pleased with this rental and our time there. Also, the owners were very nice people and willing to help with anything. Give this rental a try, I'm sure you'll be just as pleased as we were."
