  • Another Great Stay at the Pate Lake House!!!

"We traveled to Lake Guntersville again this year for the Anglers Choice Tournament of Champions event (255 teams fishing). We decided to book the Pate house for the 2nd time (booked last year for the same event). As always the house was amazing. We were able to park 3 full sized tow vehicles and 3 21 foot bass boats with no issues. There was plenty of room for all of us (6 adults) to sleep and "live" for a week with no issues. Having this "home away from home" atmosphere is awesome and makes for a great time. If you are coming down to Guntersville to either spend the week with the family or fishing an event, I highly recommend this house. Kari is amazing and extremely helpful if your have any needs/questions. We will definitely book again if we find ourselves down that way in the future!!! Ryan Abey Team Pink Fishing"

  • Nice lakehouse

"Overall we really enjoyed our stay and family vacation! Due to the close location to Huntsville, family members were able to come and go during our stay. Loved being able to bring our dog along too! The house was clean and comfortable with a nice family room with TV, large dining room, great open kitchen, 2 large bedrooms, 2 smaller bedrooms and a wonderful porch overlooking the water. The a/c worked great too! WiFi helped tremendously since cell phone signal was non-existent for AT&T (ok with Verizon). We were very comfortable! Unfortunately, the outside was another matter. The grounds were in a sad state of disrepair. Shrubs and all flower beds were very overgrown and full of poison ivy. The image that shows the outdoor patio no longer has that view due to large bushes. The jungle gym was questionable due to protruding nails and splintered wood. The 2 ponds were stagnant and overgrown. All this to say what used to be a pristine yard (according to neighbors) now needs lots of TLC. Until such time, probably not the best place for small children. The boathouse was good. Our wake board boat was too large for the inside lift, but we were able to use the covered outside without the lift (lift only rated for 2500#). Both would work great for fisherman. Great water for swimming and water sports right off the dock. Boat launch was very close on Highway 431 and on-water fuel was available nearby at Sunrise Marina-Honeycomb. The rental manager was super nice and accommodating. She worked with us on a late departure and we certainly appreciated her flexibility."

  • Ladies Retreat

"We had a wonderful time. Plenty of room for us to do all our activities. Relaxed by the boat house during the day and watched the stars and moon at night-even though it was slightly chilly. The beds were very comfortable as were the couches. We loved the view from all those windows especially the reflections of lights on the lake at night! Plenty of room to spread out and enjoy. Well stocked and comfortable -Thank you for sharing you lovely lake front home with us."

  • Home away from home

"My husband and I had a great week at the polecat pad, we loved the lil room, had everything we needed. The boathouse was great to keep our boat, the pier was a quite place where we spent most of our time, fishing and swimming! We loved the area, we even got an invitation from neighbors to hang out around a campfire. Loved the place, and Mrs. Libby was a blessing to work with, we can not wait to go again! The trip to town for groceries was only a short distance, that gave us more time to spend enjoying our cabin. While in our room we were very comfortable, the bed was very comfortable! The atmosphere in the lil cabin was very comfy! I can't think of one thing that I would have changed."

Guntersville Lake Travel Tips

Guntersville Lake Vacation Rentals and Perfect Seasonal Temperatures

Vacationing in the perfect spot does not mean you have to leave the United States. Alabama can be one of the prettier states during spring or fall. In the summer, it might be a little hot. These hot temperatures make Alabama a top destination for beaches and watersports. If you want a private vacation with wonderful surroundings and eclectic restaurants, Guntersville Lake vacation rentals will be perfect. VRBO provides listings for many Guntersville Lake houses with fully equipped kitchens, secluded locations, and numerous outdoor activities.

Guntersville Lake Houses for Outdoor Recreation

Guntersville, Alabama and its lake are located in the northern section of the state in Marshall County. The location of Guntersville is such that it sits on the southernmost point of the Tennessee River. There is a dam between the lake and river which helps form the lake. Many use it for spring and summer activities. The lake is in Sequatchie Valley, providing cover from the wind and other elements that could cool off the lake and surrounding air. Temperatures in the summer can reach above 100 degrees Fahrenheit, with the water temperature around 80 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in spots. Guntersville Lake is an appealing setting for Guntersville Lake condos, not only for the views but their closeness to the water. While visiting Guntersville Lake, waterskiing, boating, fishing, and swimming are all possible activities. The forests surrounding the lake provide an area for hiking, walking, and biking.

Arriving at Guntersville Lake Condos

Guntersville is a relatively small community in Alabama. Therefore, driving to the city and its surrounding lake is not an option via the interstate. From I-59 or I-565, you would need to take Highway 431 to Highway 79. Lake Guntersville is a little further away from the highways where you would find the Guntersville Lake vacation rentals. You would have to take a few smaller roads like 67 or 58 to arrive at Guntersville Lake South Point.

Fun for the Entire Family in Guntersville

When you become tired of the endless days on the beach or just want a little something different, heading to Guntersville is your best option. There are larger cities an hour's drive from Guntersville Lake but Guntersville has an amazing array of attractions and restaurants. One place to visit in Guntersville is the Museum and Cultural Center which offers special and permanent exhibits regarding steamboats and local history. If history and culture are second on your list, you might think about the Stoney Mountain Golf Course. It is considered the “epitome of redneck golf” and it is guaranteed to provide entertainment. Shopping excursions are also among the fun you and your group can have while at these vacation rentals. Local shops are open for souvenir gathering. Items can include t-shirts, jewelry, or gator products to impress those back at home.

Eating Gator for Lunch in Guntersville

Alabama and most of the southeastern tip of the United States are well known for their alligators. Alabama is most particularly known for their dishes made from gator. If you are feeling adventurous, there are a couple of places where you might consider dining. Bistro La Lina is known for the Southwestern menu they provide and even more so for the Gator Wrap lunch or dinner plate. If you are wary of gator, the Big Mammou is made of chicken with a blend of andouille sausage, garlic, and green onion over a bed of fettuccine. Top ‘O the River is another location in Guntersville for a meal, as they are the most popular family restaurant for residents and visitors. If you are on a budget, you might skip eating out in favor of eating at the Guntersville Lake houses you rent. Each of these homes will have a kitchen where you can prepare the fish you catch or any other meal.
