It is actually the Harris Reservoir in Randolf County. The reservoir is 24 miles long and was completed in 1983 by R. L. Harris. Here, there is a 1,000-foot elevation gain during the first half mile. Recreational activities at Lake Cheaha include swimming, taking out a paddle boat and fishing for bass and bluegill. By the lake is a fabulous adventure playground where children can run wild in a safe multi-station play area. Off roading enthusiasts will enjoy the Kentuck ORV trail, the 107-mile Pinhoti Trail, Odum Scout Trail and Chinnabee Silent Trail. At Chinnabee, stop and wonder at the stunning waterfalls along the route. For those who enjoy horseback riding, there are several trails where riders are welcome to explore. The park welcomes well behaved dogs.

Those with a GPS receiver may want to enjoy the geocashing available in Cheaha State Park to spend a few hours treasure hunting with this increasingly popular outdoor activity. Geocaching is a global game of treasure hunting using GPS to locate the treasure.
