  • Family Thanksgiving

"This house was perfect for our biannual family thanksgiving -- kids, grandkids, spouses, and even a niece and hubby from Wisconsin! Plenty of room for whatever you needed. The wife and I opted out of the hike down to the lake (age) but the younger folks made several trips. The only down side was Ole Miss won the Egg Bowl."

  • We came, we saw, we caught fish.... A bunch of fish

"I scheduled the rental and fishing trip for a guys weekend and had the best time. The cabin was roomy, confortable and clean. The quiet atmosphere and prestine view, was more than what we had hoped for. We spent two nights at the Stripeville and our mornings were filled with reeling in large striped bass. The afternoons, we're reserved for site seeing, fishing from the dock, short naps, grilling, and college football games. We expected just a place to lay our heads, but received much more. The owner/fishing guide goes completely above and beyond to help with anything whatsoever. We also spent a lot of time out on the boat house deck enjoying the view and tranquil water. We have already talked about our next trip and will without a doubt, stay at the Stripevilla. By far the cleanest, nicest, and best all around value. I can't wait to go back."

  • Wonderful family getaway!

"My family recently had an early Thanksgiving weekend and we had an amazing time! We had 4 couples and 2 small children and everyone had a comfortable room. The main living space space is spread out and great for meals, visiting, board games etc. The downstairs has pool/ping pong and another TV so everyone had plenty of space and plenty to do! The outside space is wonderful, sweeping views of the lake from the 2 story decks and a fire pit area to congregate. We brought down trucks for the little ones to play in the sand and skipping rocks was a favorite activity! We plan to return in warm weather to take advantage of the water! I would advise arriving/departing in daylight, the roads in are narrow and steep! WONDERFUL place!"

  • How can this not be rated EXCELLENT

"This was our second stay at this wonderful home that Terry and David have shared with the rest of the world. Our trip consisted of 6 guys going to enjoy golf in some of the best kept secret courses in the country. This home takes the experience to another level. We cooked three enormous, some complicated, dinners in the large main kitchen and got to enjoy each other's company while doing so. The beds were very comfortable. Highly recommend it to any one with a large group that can appreciate the finer things in life."

Listing vacation rentals where you could be on a lake in summer would take a very long time, since most states have at least a few places on lakes. Despite these numerous locations throughout the U.S., you might want to consider Lewis Smith Lake vacation rentals. With these rentals, you are right on Lewis Smith Lake for any recreational activity you might want to enjoy. In fact there are several owners of houseboats that sit in the lake where you can enjoy the views. There are also rentals with boat ramps so you can get your adventure craft out on the lake. The towns of Jasper and Curry are also very close to Lewis Smith Lake for a number of opportunities like golfing, restaurants, and shopping.

The Amenities of Lewis Smith Lake Houses

A great reason for choosing Lewis Smith Lake houses over hotels are the amenities you receive. The ideal vacation home will offer you air conditioning, washers, dryers, plenty of parking, and all linens. With Lewis Smith Lake condos, you can also be assured of cable television, DVD players, CD players, VCRs, and full kitchens. By booking this type of accommodation, you are not only on a budget vacation but able to make your meals and stay out of restaurants. All too often restaurants offer salty meals so if you have special needs, you cannot do better than having a kitchen to cook in. If you are looking for restaurants, the Jasper and Curry area supply 14 different places to eat like Cabo San Lucas, Pericos, or Garfields. They also have a couple of chain restaurants such as Ruby Tuesdays and Jim & Nicks BBQ.

The area around the lake is populated with numerous homes, used for summer and all year-round living. These homes are luxury places with three to four bedrooms. The dam and lake are also very close to other waterway systems if you enjoy a bit of snorkeling and diving. Lake diving may lack some of the color of tropical fish but you can bet on a few sunken treasures to keep your interest piqued. Lewis Smith Lake is one place to launch your boat. You also have the William B. Bankhead National Park just a few minutes' drive from your vacation rental. The park is full of recreational activities including picnicking, hiking, boating, and biking. There are several biking trails if you enjoy a good ride through a forest. It is the closest natural attraction besides the numerous lakes of the area.
