"Our family recently stayed at this house and it was exactly as described. The house is older, but well cared for. We enjoyed the fall leaves and the dock. The road is also nice to walk in the fall. We enjoyed playing games, cooking, and eating together. About 2 miles away was a beautiful park named Pell City Waterfront Park. It had nice walking trails and fantastic playgrounds for young kids. Pell City also had a Publix and Walmart. Restaurants were also close by. About one hour away is Talladega National Forest and Cheaha State Park. This was a beautiful drive and we hiked to see the waterfalls. This was a perfect place to gather. We would consider coming again, especially because the owners were easy to work with."

"This is a wonderful place to stay! It was located in a perfect location for all of our trips to the Race Track and to various attractions and restaurants nearby. We had 8 people from 8 years old to 68 and everyone had a great time. The younger generation had a ball swimming and playing in the water. The house was very very clean and had everything we needed for cooking and sleeping. Rex and Denise are wonderful to work with. We would recommend this home to anyone looking for a great place to stay and are looking forward to staying there again!"

"This is a great cabin! For four grown men it was a little cramped sleeping, but we knew that up front. We brought air matresses and had no issue. As a previous post stated, the bed was HARD. We were there to fish "Mark's Outdoors Bass Tournament". Each night we came in dog tired, so a hard bed was no problem. I saw on another review about no soap. This is a cabin, not a hotel room. You need to bring your own amenities. Great location in a quiet cove. It provided a lot more privacy than I expected. The owner came by the first day to make sure everything was ok. He's a great guy. Had a great time. I will reserve this cabin well in advance for next years tournament."

Affordable & Spacious Lake Cabin for a Weekend Getaway
"My family of four had a relaxing stay at Compton's Cocktail Cove last weekend. The owner, Jay, was very accommodating with all of my spontaneous requests. The cabin was clean and cozy with a homespun feel, with the exception of the bathrooms which were both recently updated and fresh. The beds we used were comfortable, and provided higher quality linens than expected given the modest rental price.
The only drawback was the low water level this time of year. Certainly no fault of the owner, but something to consider if you're planning to fish or bring a boat before April. We'll certainly return this summer as our stay wasn't nearly long enough. I would like to get back to reading on the hammock asap!"
