The only access point to Ono Island by road is via the bridge which connects the island to the mainland. The nearest airport is Pensacola which has regional flights to major hubs such as Atlanta, New Orleans, Dallas and Houston. Car rental is available and probably the most convenient way to get around. Many of the Ono Island houses have private moorings where residents and guests can tie up boats and jet skis. There is also a small network of waterways on the island which makes it easier to get around.

Ono Island is not a busy destination. Its main attractions are its beautiful beaches and oceanfront homes. It is possible to hire kayaks or jet skis with which to explore the island.
