Getting to Ono Island

The only access point to Ono Island by road is via the bridge which connects the island to the mainland. There is a 24-hour guard and access control, ensuring that only residents and their guests may access the island. The nearest airport is Pensacola which has regional flights to major hubs such as Atlanta, New Orleans, Dallas and Houston. Car rental is available and probably the most convenient way to get around. Many of the Ono Island houses have private moorings where residents and guests can tie up boats and jet skis. There is also a small network of waterways on the island which makes it easier to get around.

Ono Island is not a busy destination. Its main attractions are its beautiful beaches and oceanfront homes. It is possible to hire kayaks or jet skis with which to explore the island. Cruises are also available and can be booked on arrival. On these cruises, the guides often point out a few of the celebrity homes. There isn't much traffic on the island so it's safe and easy to get around by bicycle. As one of the Gulf Islands, great attractions include the shoreline and deep sea fishing in the area.
