"Let me start off by saying the condo here is a FIVE STAR unit! The outside of the unit looks like the decks and steps were recently rebuilt (several previous travelers mentioned they needed rebuilding). Only downside is there is not an elevator which comes in handy carrying all of your heavy luggage along with a toddler and two inlaws up the steps. The unit itself is one of two condos with direct ocean views which is lovely. I do wish the unit was closer to the ocean, as we couldn't hear the sound of the waves crashing at all (mostly just the humming of the AC units on both sides). The rooms are perfectly sized, and having the second bathroom was a must! The decor was modern and up to date-very clean and colorful! The kitchen could have had a wider variety of utensils, pans, etc. but was enough to meet most of our needs. Having the washer/dryer in the unit was a definite plus as we would wash all of our beach towels the night before each trip to the beach. The pool was small, but sized appropriately for the size of the entire complex. Now on to the walk to the beach-as mentioned by other renters there is no boardwalk. This might not seem like such a huge undertaking, but it is a LONG walk especially if you have younger children with you (our daughter is 3 ½). The sand is super soft and deep so our wagon that we paid a couple hundred bucks for to make our trip to the beach easier was a nightmare. The path to the beach is about a two feet wide section gated off by chain linked fence, so if you are carrying things and there is someone else on the path, you would have to wait for them to pass so you could walk on the path. You MUST wear flip flops while walking this path as there are sharp stickers that poke your feet (my husband got poked several times.) The sand is also EXTREMELY hot, so this just adds to the difficulty of the no boardwalk issue. The beach itself was gorgeous, our only problem was the jellyfish they were having (we had a purple marine flag up our entire stay). This of course is out of our and the condo's control, so this was an understandable issue. If there were some sort of boardwalk or path to the beach, this would be a five star stay. I do understand they are getting ready to tear this complex down and put up the new Perdido Dunes Tower, so hopefully a boardwalk is in store for the new unit. We are looking forward to our next visit to Orange Beach, we made wonderful memories this trip!"
