  • One of Our Best Ever Family Vacations

"Our family of 4 first chose this property for our 2014 summer vacation as we needed a dock and lift for our boat. Everything about the property and our experience was wonderful and we will definitely go back often. The photos presented by the owners accurately reflect the very high quality condition, decor and cleanliness of the home. With it being located on a long and dead end street, there was little to no traffic other than the local owners. This, in itself, was another highlight of the trip as we enjoyed meeting and spending time with the very friendly residents. This was a perfect location for our boat as we enjoyed tubing in the immediate area of the house, fishing, boat riding, spending time on Robinson Island at Orange Beach, sight seeing and going by boat to a number of good and fun restaurants in the area. We enjoyed using the kayak and spending time on the dock watching the sunsets and dolphins passing by. We also greatly enjoyed the time we spent in the house and especially on the porch in the early mornings and evenings. Finally, the owners were a delight to work with regarding all aspects of the rental. Our family highly recommends this property."

  • I knew the moment that I stepped through the door…

"that I had found a treasure, the kind that you are not sure you want to write a review about and share with others so that no one else would visit and it could be your own little secret. After a long day and even a longer drive I was really looking forward to a hot shower, a cup of coffee and a good night’s sleep, and even told Ms. Lynn the property manager as she gave me detailed instructions the last five miles in. I was really concerned that a few miles earlier than that I kept seeing the “No Outlet” signs and wondered where I was really headed. I wondered even further when the last half mile turned into a one lane 15 mph drive with old live oaks overhead. As I found the house and pulled into the gravel drive I wondered what was behind the door of this concrete house with all the windows. Lynn even had a pot of coffee waiting for me and that kind of hospitality is a kindness not often found. I woke to squirrels playing in the live oaks, herons and pelicans flying by, dolphins and their little ones swimming by and mullet jumping for their breakfast. The water was plentiful and hot and I made instant friends with a soft buttery leather oversized chair and ottoman. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen well stocked and even a washer, dryer and soap to wash them are available. The water is about 2 foot deep with a sandy bottom for about a hundred yards out ( safe for the little’s) and the neighbors are helpful if you need them but you catch yourself looking from time to time to see if they are even still there. This home is Old Florida lovingly restored and upgraded with all you need and cool tile floors throughout. Bring your dry goods but tear away for a quick trip to Orange Beach for fresh seafood, a number of local farm stands can give you all you need in produce and the Elberta Grocery will hand cut your Rib eyes, T-Bones, Porterhouses and might even have a few Cordon Blue on hand. Also don’t forget a quick trip to Sweet Home Farms for the very best in homemade cheeses and gourmet goodies. Pack your clothes, bring a float and laze away a few days at the Beach House. We want to thank Lynn for her great hospitality (and getting us hooked up to Wi-Fi for those of us who can’t seem to unplug) and even more so to Ms. Barbara and her family for sharing their family home with us all and treating us like we were extended family. We hated to leave and cannot wait to come back soon!"

  • Third Visit

"Fabulous home! We have stayed here three times with seven children. There is plenty of room and space to spread out. The ping pong table is a hit, and we love the kayaks and canoes! The water is perfect for little children! We love sitting on the porch and cooking in the huge kitchen. The extra refrigerator in the laundry room provides plenty of space for extra food and drinks. My children always ask to go back to this house. We all love it!"

  • Fun Family Vacation

"Where to begin. When we arrived we were greeted by Mr. Gene, who welcomed us and said make yourselves at home and that is exactly what we did. Everything was just as the listing said. The house was clean and felt just like home. The view from the back porch was just beautiful. My family has been taking vacations together for about 6 years now and this is the best rental we have had. Mr. Gene made us feel so welcome and I think my grandson found a new friend. Watching the dolphins swim by several times a day was so exciting, they came so close to my daughter she could almost reach out and touch it. We enjoyed the birds also. The boys loved the basketball court and Mr gene fixed them a tether ball to play. They also enjoyed the canoe and kayak. We really hated to leave for the day but we had made plans to see the sites so we had to go but we couldn't wait to return and sit under the shade trees and just watch the amazing sunset. The house is well stocked with everything you need, pots & pans, dishes, glasses, towels etc. The beds are very comfortable. The large dining table was great for all of us to eat together and for playing games at night. I just can't say enough about this place. If you are looking for a quite, peaceful place to spend your vacation then this is the place for you. Thank You, Mr. Gene for making our stay so wonderful!"
