  • NICE GET AWAY

"The house was beautiful and well kept. It was exactly what we were looking for as for as the secluded setting and room for our dogs to run was concerned. We had a lovely time just relaxing. It should be noted though, wear good shoes and maybe long pants and bug spray before you head off to the secret beach. It is a wooded hike to the location and there are some sticker bushes and trees down on the beach also. Overall, we loved being out in the woods and the dogs loved running around."

  • Awesome

"We loved our stay in this condo. Owner was great to work with. The only thing that was lacking were the kitchen supplies but we just ran to the store. We only had 1 dish towel and no potholders. Everything else was wonderful!!! The owner helped us rent the unit next door too for our extended family. Can't wait to go back and are considering purchasing a condo in this complex."

  • Great condo

"The condo was a great place to stay. My husband and son stayed there for 2 weeks while they were working in Pensacola. They enjoyed having a nice place to come"home" to after a long days work. Karen was very nice and easy to communicate with. I would recommend this condo."

  • A beautiful getaway

"Becky, thank you!!! I can't put into words how thankful my family is for this getaway and the beautiful accommodations that you provided us . We arrived late Sunday evening and you were available to us as we were a bit lost. You gave us easy directions to the home. You did not seem one bit bothered that we called you late that evening. You even gave a follow up call that night and extended yourself to us in case we needed anything further. Upon entering the home, our mouths dropped in disbelief as to how beautifully kept this home is. Wonderfully furnished, beautifully decorated and CLEAN! CLEAN! CLEAN!!! This was our first time to Fort Morgan, not our first time in a beach home, and I must say, it was a pleasant surprise. Often we've stayed in homes that just didn't feel like HOME, this was a standout exception. 3 bedrooms, 2 baths was more than enough for my family of 4. The children were all too excited and just kept saying how they felt "at home". It was nice to sit out in the decks both morning and evening. I thought the walk to the beach may have been longer given the descriptions however we timed it at less than 4 minutes. Too easy and much preferred by us than directly on the beach (we appreciated less traffic than those directly at the beach receive). Nestled perfectly between the Gulf and the Bay with just enough privacy. A quick trip to the Publix and Walmart and we had all meals prepared at home (yes, I said home) we ate out only our first night there at Tacky Jacks. Your home had everything we needed. We even grilled one evening. Our trips to the beach were much more enjoyable as you had available all beach necessities and even a Wagon to tow. When we return to Fort Morgan, You Are My Sunshine WILL be our first pick. Thank you, Thank you, Thank YOU!!!"

Alabama Travel Tips

Known as the "Heart of Dixie," Alabama borders Tennessee, Georgia, Mississippi and Florida. Though the capital of Alabama is Montgomery, the most populated city is Birmingham and the oldest city is Mobile, which was founded by French colonists.

For anyone looking to escape cold, wet winters, the climate in Alabama ranges from mild to hot with summer temperatures climbing to 100 degrees - perfect for a warm getaway. Winters are less harsh here, with temperatures ranging from 30 to 60 degrees.

History buffs will enjoy exploring any of the state’s 36 national historic landmarks and more than 1,200 locations that are part of the National Register of Historic Places. All of Alabama is steeped in rich and interesting facts from its beginning up until the present time.

Things to Do in Alabama

U.S. Space & Rocket Center: When visiting Huntsville, be sure to stop by the U.S. Space & Rocket Center, a museum showcasing achievements, rockets and artifacts from the United States’ space program. The museum is home to more than 1,500 permanent pieces relating to space exploration. The U.S. Space & Rocket Center also offers two camp programs where people can stay on-site and learn more about space with the U.S. Space Camp or aviation with the Aviation Challenge. Along with displays, you can also check out the Spacedome Theater, Rocket Park and Education Training Center that houses NASA’s Educator Resource Center.

Birmingham Zoo and Montgomery Zoo: Animal lovers are sure to enjoy a trip to either zoo in Birmingham or Montgomery, or maybe even both! The Birmingham Zoo is home to about 800 different animals of more than 200 species. It’s also a force in elephant conservation, featuring a Trails of Africa exhibit. Along with the elephants, you can visit with rhinos, giraffes, birds and other creatures. The Montgomery Zoo allows visitors to take a trip to South America, Asia and other countries without ever leaving Alabama. With more than 500 animals, there’s plenty to see here, including elephants, penguins, zebras and more.

USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park: One of the country’s most unique military attractions, The USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park provides an exciting experience for the whole family. Located on the western shore of Mobile Bay, the park features a collection of wartime aircraft and ships. The USS Alabama is a national historic landmark and a great way to pay respects to soldiers who have fallen in the past.

Bryant-Denny Stadium: In Tuscaloosa, you’ll find the home of the University of Alabama and Bryant-Denny Stadium. Originally the football shrine was built to honor the university’s first president, it was amended later to also honor the famous Alabama football coach Paul “Bear” Bryant. Alabama is also home to one of the United States’ oldest college rivalries between Auburn University and the University of Alabama. If you visit during football season, taking in a game between the Crimson Tide and the Tigers is sure to be entertaining both on and off the field.

Huntsville Botanical Garden: While visiting Huntsville, be sure to stop at the Huntsville Botanical Garden. Free and open year-round, it’s home to a butterfly house as well as a variety of gardens, including aquatic, wildflower, fern, rose and others. Mike and Ed’s BBQ: For some Southern-style barbecue, visit Auburn’s Mike and Ed’s BBQ which dishes up some of the tastiest pulled pork and home cooking in the state. There's no excuse for leaving hungry here - the portions are big and chances are you will clean your plate.
